PennCentral670 the P42dc’s can’t go that distance they have smaller fuel tanks meant for intercity service if Via rail rebuilt the fuel tanks then maybe they could do it but with the fuel tanks they have now they would have to stop to refuel more often
@@hamesjeff also I think the F40s are geared better to go through the mountains than the P42s that were bought for high speed service. It’s similar to why the MLW and E units rarely went West when the Canadian was owned by CP.
