it's ok ,since it's just a outer protective glass,it won't affect the lamp life,while halogens are different,it doesn't have outer glass so you should not touch it with bare hand

Tonny Cassidy Halogen is the worst, it'll blow almost immediately if you touch it, however, both HPS and MH will have lower life if you touch them too. However, if you want to touch them to put them in whatever, you can wipe the oils/acids off with a clean cotton/microfiber cloth and it's ok.. best bet is still not to touch them and use cloth gloves to install them though

its a myth hps and mh have tempered glass and you can touch it all you want the guy from hortilux said this in a video i watched the other day

riderjay253 Maybe the oils on your skin block some light or something. I've never heard of anybodys bulb exploding or the glass breaking.

only reason would be CO2 supplementation

@@maizedong9729 the oils on your fingers will fingerprint the bulb and leave a dark patch the bulb will have a hotspot and will burn out its element always wipe the bulb off when you fit it and any dust from the silver reflector metal halide are known to explode as the finger print marks on a bulb will make them buzz witch makes there inner gases keep getting hot around the black marks that's why halide grow lights are more expensive thy have a inner glass and gas elements for safety all other halide bulbs are in a box with safety glass to protect the public as do son bulbs but thy implode very rare thy simply ark out and try to restart fro a x street light fitter

Don't do it. Waste of money. You can build your own grow room for a fraction of the cost of this setup and a lot more efficient. And best part about it is, all materials needed can be picked up at your local hardware store. You can have home depot or Lowe's cut everything to size, bring it home and assemble it yourself. I built a 10Lx8Wx8H grow room with self heating and self cooling for under $150.

HeyHeyHarmonicaLuke No $150 is just for the grow room. And it's not an estimate. That's the rounded off amount that I spent after tax to build it (original, $147 or something close to that). Everything else can be bought on the cheap if you take your time searching for it. Craigslist is a great place to start, just know what to look for. I have a hydro shop near my house that sells used equipment for cheap. I'm talking about complete light setup - hood, 1000 watt magnetic ballast and all plugs for $100. 1000 watt bulbs for $15. High CFM 8" inline fan for $60. 4' x 4' flood trays for $50. And so on. Just look for deals, you'll find it. And quite honestly, of my ten years in growing indoor, the only thing I had to replace from my used equipments were the bulbs and a 4'x4' flood tray, due to making a hole at the wrong end. For the most part, used is just as good as brand new, except without the high price tag. But that doesn't mean go crazy on craigslist and buy the first used thing you see. Do your "common sense" inspection and test it first to prove it's working.

i agree, this tent is perhaps worse than the 1 1/4" pvc one i built and covered with a custome fitted panda film i cut and sealed. i wouldn't want that shotty metal frame holding my shit up, the tent itself s holding that together not the metal frame, he even said it some point indirectly. we already have water and electricity, why not make the tent out of metal as well right

NOT TRUE. THE TENT WORKS JUST FINE. THE TENT AND THE TENT POLES WORK TOGETHER IN HOLDING EVERYTHING UP, YES BUT SO WHAT... A HOUSES FRAME DOES NOT HOLD IT TOGETHER BY ITSLEF, IT NEEDS SHEER WALLS TO GIVE IT STRENGTH... THIS TENT WAS SETUP JUST FINE AND IS PERFECTLY SAFE AND WORKS PERFECTLY WELL.. IT IS A $70 TENT AND FOR STARTERS, THAT CANT BE BEAT.

1. It's far more efficient to use white reflective (non metallic) material on the walls of the tent.... you will get better PAR reflection. 2. Cooling your lamp actually is not better for your plants.. in order for the lamp to radiate the right spectrum it needs to get to a certain core temperature, cooling your lamps will counter this and is not desirable at all. Just use a good fancontroller with a thermostat to control the temperature and don't place the lights too low on the plant. If you don't have enough space consider growing with LED growing lights. 3. Build the tent before you smoke the weed. You sound wasted... 4. etc... 5 etc...
