This compressor is unrivaled in its class by miles. It probably went through an engineering optimization analysis before being put into production, unlike most cheap compressors that leave you wondering what the engineers were thinking. A whopping 1.47 CFM out of a package nearly as compact as those two little plastic kids' toys that you were comparing it to, and under 5 lbs, is so good that it's borderline physics-defying.

i ignorantly purchased an amazon cig lighter compressor after buying a 4runner and aired down for a beach day. my god it took me like 35 mins for all 4 tires. i just purchased this viair 88p. thanks !

Love my Viair 88P. It comes with a storage canvas bag but its a pain to fit it back into the bag after use. The bag should be bigger but its a minor issue.

Nice. Still have mine and it came in clutch during last winter storm. I came upon a stranded motorists during the evening and they needed to change a tire but the spare was super low on air and practically flat, so I was able to pump it up for them.

You could buy a cheap tool bag to store it in for under 10 bucks or go to a thrift store and find a bag.

Tip: Get rid of the box and buy a cheap small nylon tool bag to keep it in.

does the car have to be running for viair to have power

As long as battery is good, I haven’t needed to run the car if just using the pump for a few minutes. If plan to do longer amount of use, you might want to have the car running.

Does anyone know what is the ID size of the hose, would like to replace the chuck and need to cut the hose and add the barb, but not sure what size barb I need.... THANKS...

how accurate is the gauge on the compressor? thanks

Chris Gillenwater the gauge has been pretty accurate plus or minus a few PSI compared to my regular tire pressure gauge I got at autozone. I Just pause the pump and then am able to read the gauge as The needle bounces a bit while pump is in operation. I also use the regular tire pressure gauge as a double check. Pretty happy with the pump and it’s super portable, stowed in my truck easily.

Mu gauge reads about 5 psi too high but its no big deal. Its a great unit and I have no regrets. Mine is 3 years old now and still works like new. The key feature is it connects directly to your car battery. The cheap plug in units blow car fuses. For around $55, you can't beat this Vair.

This Viar88P is capable of inflating up to 33 inch tires and max operating pressure of 120psi, hope that helps.

Review or Advert ? Why did you keep it off the floor,,,LoL yea it does some dancing on that smooth surface,,,you wasted no time covering that point up. They are more solidly built than most but not cheap for the better models,,upwards of 250.00 +
