Here's a demonstration of the Viair Portable Air Compressor Kit. This small compressor will fool you as it's a fraction of the size of a typical air compressor and has enough power to inflate a full size motorhome tire.
I had a few inquires and since I'm not a retailer, here's an Amazon link: amzn.to/2vQ9uoS
There's more to this story and you can read it at: www.gadgetguru.com/viair/

Just a point of order, you should install the air filter to the pump. It will extend the life of the pump. Also, thank you for acknowledging your error, and being humble enough to admit you were wrong. Its refreshing seeing that.

If you don't like being that close to the tire, put your air gauge/filler in between the hoses and fill from there. You'll also be able to stand up.

My steer tires take 130psi cold. I could never get mine to fill either. Wish I had seen this 3 weeks ago. I gave mine to my daughter. She now has a nice Viair compressor for emergencies. Thanks for posting

Interesting thought. I own a Featherlite H3 and have been told by the service company to connect an air hose to one of the two air chucks (1 on each side of the coach) if I need to air up a tire. I will follow up with them again after reading your response. Thanks for the quick response and your videos are great. Keep up the good work.

14 min on an air compressor from Wal-Mart and listening to you air out the tire..no wonder you messed it up the first time and now you're revisiting it..I dono...read the instructions like it comes with?! I never had no problems..

Nice video! I agree, Viair customer support is excellent! I was missing the 45 degree red handle air chuck from my 450P-RV kit and they sent one and it only took two days from California to northeast Mississippi. Totally awesome!

That was great! I just had the same issue on my class A and was planning on returning the compressor tomorrow. I had no idea about the 110 psi safety. I’ll check it out again. Thought I was crazy.

Thank goodness for this video. I bought the Viair 450P, and would be real irritated if I tried to use it , and it didn't work! I've always been uncomfortable with air pressure requirements of my diesel HR Imperial, and the inability to easily add air.

Thank you for this review!! I am currently looking to purchase a portable air compressor to carry in my Monaco and was afraid I was going to have spend *00 or $900 for the ARB - looks like the Viair is a great alternative!

Will the Viair 300P Portable Compressor work for winterizing my trailer? It is half the price of the 400 on Amazon.

Andy, I think you need to get the air filter attached to your compressor! Mine was in a separate plastic bag along with a few replacement filter elements. The filter will screw in where the red plug is. I used some Teflon tape on the treads to seal them. Enjoy your videos!
@TheGadgetGuru
@TheGadgetGuru 6 лет назад
You are correct. In the video, it was not attached. It does include the screw-on filter that inserts at the point the red plug was removed and includes two additional foam filter inserts. And, Thank You!

Just a note... The instructions say specifically to NOT use Teflon tape.

Hi Andy, I have one of these units and love how it works. Would really appreciate a plug connection option to hardwire a bulkhead connector to the vehicle powering and plug the compressor in when needed rather than deal with batteries (rain, etc). The thanks for the info about the 110 psi cutoff. I am curious though, did you get the air filter assembly with your purchase? Based on the instructions it takes the place of the red plug? Or did Viair tell you something different? Your videos are well edited and full of info. Also enjoy the manner in which you convey information, you do not assume your viewers know about all the details you're discussing. Thanks for keeping a baseline!

Thanks for the kind words Swatch...I enjoy what I do and I hope it shows! All of the included accessories are shown in the video and I don't believe a filter was included.

Thanks Michael. I just had it washed two days prior to this video. The service is this resort is named Superior and that name is appropriate as they use ionized water and did a great job. I'll add that it rained the day prior and it's still shiny! It was waxed and detailed in March.

The length of the air hose affects how it works to shorten up your air hose you will get higher PSI

I talked to Viair and they suggested the 450 model for those size tires
@TheGadgetGuru
@TheGadgetGuru 6 лет назад
I spoke to them and both the 400 and 450 have their pros and cons. Yes, the 450 will work well on larger tires, but it's slower. The 450 is faster, but it gets warmer quicker and needs to cool down. As I learned, to fill this size tire, I had to first lower the pressure to below 110 and it brought it back up to the desired pressure fairly quickly.

Be prepared to buy some 1/4" hose clamps because the hose to fitting connections WILL blow apart. Their customer service dept assured me that this defect is covered under warranty. Nice to hear, but after 8 weeks they've never shipped me the replacement hoses. They won't even respond to my continued request on WHEN I might receive them. Good pump but lousy hoses, be prepared and BUY some hose clamps. You don't want to be airing your tires up on the road and have the supply hoses blow part and not be prepared to repair it yourself. A friend of mine had the same problem. Again good pump, lousy hoses and customer service.

Would it not be easier to use the compressor on the Prevost?
@TheGadgetGuru
@TheGadgetGuru 6 лет назад
Yes and No. I'm to understand the coach's compressor needs to drop pressure to add pressure. Also, I'm hesitant to so anything to the air system as why take the risk of messing something up and causing a leak!
@johnbenavides4450

@@TheGadgetGuru on the air tank it should have a quick connect so you can connect a air hose and as far as dropping air pressure it will do it as your filling the tires the compresor will kick in automatically after you get between 90 to 100 psi you need to have the motor running you have air brakes the compressor will know what to do its same thing as a 18 wheeler i drive one

You mention your concern being so close to the tire when inflating your tires. Could you not connect the coiled hose direct;y to the screw on chuck then put the inflators gauge between the two coiled hoses. This way you could be 30' away from the tire when inflating. This wouldn't work for the inner tires when using the other chuck but you have the outer tire as a shield when inflating the inner tires..
@TheGadgetGuru
@TheGadgetGuru 6 лет назад
Due to the placement of the Jeep, I needed to use both coiled cables so that I didn't pull the Viair off the bumper. However, you're absolutely correct in that the connections appear to allow for the gauge to be placed between the two hoses. When working on the front, tag and outer tires, this is the safest route to proceed. I haven't found a way to use the screw chuck on the inner tires due to the openings in my wheels and that would require the use of the inner chuck. Thank You for adding this information!

Long story, but helpful...I emailed them, got no reply....Perhaps I'll do the chatline thing....18 inch tires, max 80 psi, with a smaller viair, I wanted to check out some user questions, as it seems I have the correct pump, hopefully after watching this video, be a little more confident, as I wanted to air down for dirt roading, then air up again...Questions in process I guess..thanks for doing this one
