It’s so sad, I am an African living in America but my family still honor our culture. You said you don’t even have time to mourn when you lose a loved one. I have lived in several countries but only in the United States there is no time to mourn a loved one. Other countries have weeks of mourning and healing. We have even shortened the time to mourn to a week for immediate family in the U.S to keep up when it’s weeks back home. The men in the U.S are a dying breed. This country needs to wake up and bring back the culture of loving, supporting and respecting men. Thank Dax for showing the way.

Hey brother get well and take care of yourself. I am paralyzed from the waist down , I was shot at a party breaking up a fight . I am a combat Marine vet of 2 tours in Iraq lost a lot of brothers and last week lost my mother she was heart . I had to learn to do and ask for help sometimes I'm 6foot 4 and 300 pounds and I had to learn to slow down but I'm still wide open and try to do everything but my 3 boys are my life and my oldest graduates next year and it's hard I am now 43 have learned a lot in life but family is the most important part of life . Get healthy brother and hang in there it will get better

I got a card in my birthday and Father’s Day this year all in one from my daughters as well as my ex all in one. I just spent 4000 dollars on a trip for my oldest to go to Spain this summer. My son is 2 and I'm raising him for this battlefield of life. You have a kind heart but a thick skin, God built us to last and you will have to push through a lot on your own sometimes so you have to be ready incase i don't make it long enough to be there for you. My son WILL be a good man and he WILL provide for his future family, if i do nothing else in my life right that will be enough.

Man being a Bronx native living in nyc my whole life bruh it is a tough environment, if you aren't accustomed to it. But man when u came down south here in Tennessee/kentucky, joined the military served for 5 years and realize how hard life can be as a man AB's a military vet. Deployed overseas and realize so much pressure is on you.man PTSD, depression, anxiety is real. This song is a amazing, and I appreciate music like this to the fullest

after the military i didnt have many friends back home anymore as i had been gone for years and i had left the brothers i had made except for their online presence. i turned to alcohol and didnt have anyone to talk to about my demons and the pain i felt every day. my parents and siblings didnt understand why i chose to drink and be antisocial but music kept me going, dax's dear alcohol really hit me hard and then to be a man hit me harder. to all my brothers out there fighting each day with demons, youre NOT alone and dont you think for a second that you ever are.

I just really wanted to thank you for doing a reaction to this song bc a lot of things that you said in the reaction made me have a new appreciation for my husband Of 7 years. I never realized that that's how his mind works and never realized that those are the things that he would think about. I cried the whole way thru this as I thought back on our time together and now understand why I would find him in his man cave crying alone but when I would enter the room he would act like nothing was wrong. My eyes are definitely open to the weight of the world being on his shoulders. My husband works very hard and long hours so that I can stay home and in return I have always made it my duty to take care of the kids, the dogs, the house, shopping and errands, and have dinner ready for him when he gets home. I am definitely going to suggest that we start having date night for the 2 of us to have time to connect and it gives me the excuse to get dressed up and be on the arm of the man I love more than anything. It takes COURAGE, especially for men, to be vulnerable!! That is a real man who can be the protector and provider and also be tender and vulnerable (when they feel it is safe to be)!! My heart hurts for all of the men who were taught that they're not allowed to cry or to feel their emotions! That to show emotion makes them weak, or that they won't be respected if they don't keep just stuffing their emotions deeper and deeper! That slowly destroys a person! Men in general, are under attack in our country! They are called weak if they show emotions, but then told they're "toxic" when they're "too masculine"! Too many women expect them to act feminine, but also demand to be taken care of! They're damned if they do and damned if they dont and it has caused a tragic epidemic of su!cide among men! Ladies, YOU CANNOT HAVE IT BOTH WAYS! You don't get to tell or put pressure on your man to have show only the emotions that YOU want to see!! If you want to lose a good man, then you're on the right path there!! My husband is a very stoic man overall. He was active duty army for 15 years. Soldiers are programmed to that to show sadness, disappointment, or to let their emotions show is shameful. Men in general, but especially soldiers are programmed to believe that the only emotions they're "allowed" to have are happy, proud, cocky or angry. Knowing this about him, the first time I saw him cry, my instant reaction was to feel so incredibly honored that he trusted me enough, and felt enough unconditional love from me that he allowed me to see him cry!! Never once did I feel like it was weakness. In my mind, it was incredibly courageous and only gave me more respect for him!! In that moment I wished I could have healed his heart! Knowing that that not my ability. Instead, I sat there and hugged him and LISTENED. I will never know what it is truly like to be a man. What I do know is that I want my husband to feel just as supported and unconditionally loved by me as I feel from him, so I did the only thing I knew how to do to support him! I sat by his side holding him, listened and validated that "YOU ARE ALLOWED TO FEEL YOUR EMOTIONS every bit as much as I am! I really feel like it strengthened the bond between us. It was several years later before we got married (both of us were divorced and never wanted to feel that heartbreak again, so we gave it lots of time and consideration first), but when he made the choice to take a RISK and be vulnerable with me, when up to that point I had only ever seen the "big tough soldier who loves and protects me", I knew in that very moment that this was the man I wanted to share the rest of my life with!!
