Alot of things in chromatic harmonica take time. For practice to be effective, you have to practice the right things the right way. I suggest you review the entire BREATH, BEND, AND VIBRATO SERIES of tutorial videos, all available on the website MASTERSOFHARMONICA.COM
Hi...the question of what an artist "needs" to do or learn is really a matter of what they want to accomplish in their playing and performance. I have never considered circular breathing necessary on a harmonica, as a clarinetist might do, as necessary perhaps because we play also with Draws.

On a powerfully played note, I will move all air out through the mouth on blows and draw, or runs, by closing the glottis.
