This is why I went to Empire of Sin, I mean I still like to play GTA sometimes, but I like Empire of Sin better for the whole taking over stuff and building a criminal empire ordeal
Well... As they say, you can pick your friends but you can't pick your family members... Lance is really annoying, if he was my little brother, he'd deserve a few punches in the face time to time...
The word "family" actually makes more sense in IV. Roman just wants to go bowling with Niko, while Lance screws everything up and Sweet is still stuck with the "protect the hood" mentality.
I was so invested in the relationship as a kid. I always felt bad for Vic and the situation he was in and just wanted him and Louise to get their happy ending. This mission broke my heart.
This game does a really good job of showing what a snake Lance was from the very start, his betrayal at the end of VC doesnt seem out of character at all now.
There is indeed a foreshadowing in Liberty City Stories at the final cutscene there is a line that says "Every dog has his day" after Salvatore says "I don't trust him one bit" Foreshadowing his paranoia with Claude which caused him his death.
@@hybridShinx Lance was there in Vice City. Technically Tommy took revenge for Vic by killing Diaz with Lance. R* confirmed it was Vic Vance who got clipped alongside Harry and Lee, the associates of Forelli Family in the deal. Vic became like that in the trade only explanation might be he got depressed after Louise died. Vic deserved to live. It is way sadder...
Light my pyre is a great mission. I feel like it’s one of those moments in a game that it is ultimately a very hollow victory. Vic may have successfully killed Armando Mendez, his most powerful rival but he lost Louise, which probably contributed to his downfall. I feel really bad for her, she was innocent, like Kate McReary is, and she dies because an antagonist fatally shoots her. This mission shows just how powerful and how much of a psychopath Armando was. His death was a very hollow victory, like Lance’s in my opinion. Because Tommy knew that Lance was messed up and felt very bad after killing him. Billy can also be a good example because the Lost disband soon after. Also, Pro your robber outfit demonstrates your dedication, what an impressive touch.
Kate McReary by textbook rule can't be considered nearly as sad. Only sympathy is held for Niko, the Audience of GTA IV hold 0 concern over Kate. In Vice City Stories Louise is a developed tragedy, VCS is sadder than IV including Roman's death for me.
@@phoenixj1299 Louise has nothing to do with it. She may have dragged Vic into illegal businesses, but those were just to replace Marty as the owner. The blame is on Lance. It all started with his stupidity when he convinced Vic about stealing the drug shipment. That's when they started getting in trouble with the Mendez brothers. Lance was the mastermind of all those troubles in VCS. If he never arrived in Vice city, Vic wouldn't have to deal with the Mendez bros except for Martinez.
@@gmiyadole Louise literally made him a gangster when he despised it. She is a drug addict herself. He didn't want to take over Marty's as well. She brought it herself. If he didn't become a gangster, he would have done something else or moved out of the city.
@@gmiyadoleSadly, Lance’s push to join Vic was due to Vic starting a business, and Lance wanted to help out Vic, which is thanks to Louise encouraging Vic to take over Marty’s business. Lance messed up to be sure, however despite his faults Lance ultimately helped Vic in achieving his goals to make sure their family survived. Ultimately Vic’s misfortune comes down to Martinez’ betrayal. Many people dislike Lance heavily for betraying Tommy and that’s a fact; many players do not try to see things from his perspective. He screwed up big time in VCS, but if not for Martinez rattling out the Vance brothers, they wouldn’t have been betrayed and Armando would’ve most likely been content to continue the association with the two organisations in the drug trade.
Exactly and his stupid ass keeps crashing into the cars shooting him and he stays close to them even though he's riding a freaking motorcycle! What an idiot!
@@irvinalexanderflores his AI is horrible I remember one time I tried to push him out of the way b/c one of the Mendez guys cars somehow flipped over and it was on fire also the Mendez guys were shooting still while upside down and Lance rode right next to the car and he got lit the fuck up and was on the brink of death yet he somehow got to the prawn island bridge and triggered the cutscene
@@pyr1412 wow that sounds both stressful and relieving that he somehow survived this was always my least favorite mission as a kid took my countless tries to save Lance basically from his own ai's stupidity not to mention the times Armando burned me to death then the ending makes it much worse since it made me sad story wise haha.
@@irvinalexanderflores I killed Armando first try w/ the M249 or M16 can’t remember b/c this was a life time ago like end of 2004- early 2005 but I remember when the cutscene of Armando talking to you ended. I just locked on to him and sprayed him and noticed his health bar which I drained at a rapid rate and I think he did set me on fire but it didn’t matter. He’s never killed me on any of my playthroughs I did and I beat this game 3-4 times I think twice on PS2 and 2 or 3 times on PSP.
Saddest mission in GTA history. This made me upset when doing the mission as Louise was such a good character and one of the best girlfriends for a GTA protagonist.
I used to think Lance was cool until he betrayed Tommy, but as much as I hated him, I didn’t think I could hate him any more until _this_ game showed what a maroon he really is.
I love that at 16:35 "dont worry about me, dont worry about me. LOUUUUUIIIIIISSSSSSSEEEEEE" 😂😂 if you remember Phil's earlier mission with the boom shine he's like "DADDYYYYYYY" ☠😭
Truly Light My Pyre, the cutscene where Louise is bleeding only for her to die of massive blood loss by bullets shot by the Mendez cartel goons or by Armando Mendez is truly the saddest cutscene in all of GTA series history. This game is really inspired some character and storyline blueprints for what GTA IV would become to be.
I agree with TheProfessional that there is much foreshadowing in this game, especially with Diaz (that his coke habit, which at this point during the Vice City timeline hasn't consumed him, and also that he has no qualms about killing anyone at a moment's notice, with his hair-trigger worsening with his cocaine dependence). There's also Lance in the final cutscene of the game, saying to Vic that he doesn't want Vic to think the whole ordeal they went through is all about him (foreshadowing to 1986 when Lance calls Tommy to express that he doesn't feel like he's getting a fair slice of what they're a part of).
Now the Mendez Mansion will fall into the Sharks hands (The weakened Sharks) and Prawn Island will turn into a decadent and dilapidated island in 1986. Yes the sharks would become the Streetwannabes sometime after 1984, the loss was large and they turned bore and lame, not very poor because they would have ties with the Haitians and some men in black at the mission "Loose Ends" from GTA VC but they lose more influence and are unlucky most of the time.
They got worse in the space of 2-3 years. They did take over the mansions in Prawn Island after thr Mendez gang disintegrated, but they vandalized the mansions for some reason. I have a theory (though not conclusive) that, not only did the Sharks become Streetwannabes, and that the remnants of the Mendez gang joined them, therefore making up a moderate-sized gang that apparently controls Prawn Island.
@@Nassyy They vandalized the two mansions (also the yellow one besides Armando's which I theorize belongs to Diego or another key Mendez Cartel member) probably to mock the Cartel that once used them as bases of operations, or maybe for fun, get them to look like their likings, this suggests the wild, uneducated and rude nature of the new sharks. I find your theory intriguing, indeed some of the surviving Mendez Cartel members would join the Sharks, they'd probably join the Diaz Cartel too, even Gonzalez crew at one point.
@SAUCE GOD They were respected in 1984 but interesting enough their name isn't pronounced in the story and they only appear a few times. They went from dangerous and wealthy to some hoodlums trying to climb their way back up in 1986. They dress totally different from one game to another, drive different vehicles and are armed with only pistols and the fists. Sometimes they suggest having other weaponry during story missions like the Tec9, a doze of members use it against Tommy and Lance (In Phon Pehn 86) and the Ruger (used by their supposed leader). Each leader of a different gang (except Auntie Poulet from the Haitians) appear to be enemies with them, hell, even Mister Blake ( the guy from the telephone) as you have to kill some Sharks in one mission of each of them. Curiously, in 1984, after Vic takes over every each of their rackets in the city, they'll appear driving around Vice Point and Prawn Island which are the places they control in 1986, that's their only turfs.
@@ShubhamMishrabro That Ski mask wearing black rapper that is very private about his life? Fire him up on RU-vid, you'll find him on several thumbnails if you don't wanna listen to his songs directly.
First time i played this as a kid this Scene made me cry i feel so bad for Vic and Louise they deserved better they should if leave Vice City when they had their Chance.
@@richardharrow2513 he isn't a Fatass in GTA VCS and he wanted out in the end. It's too depressing to think that a relatively good man like him turned into a fat druggie gangster.
One thing I’ve always respected about the GTA protagonists is that they don’t drugs or if they do it’s just pot they might be criminals but they’re responsible ones lol
@SAUCE GOD No I mean if Louise hadn't died than Vic would have had more than enough reasons to fully retire from the crime life and live a normal life with her. Louise's death drove Vic over the edge, led to his final showdown against Martinez and left him with nothing else to hold onto apart from his little brother, Lance, who was always trying his hardest to be a successful drug baron and always pushed Vic to follow him. That's why Vic comes back to Vice City to make that deal with Tommy which led to his demise due to the one man that was foreshadowed to betray the Vance brothers, Ricardo Diaz
I really feel bad when a character loses someone who is very close. Any sad moments I see in the GTA series I always feel terrible for their lost. Whatever is a friend a lover or a family Even if they are video games or movies or TV I always feel sorry for the characters and of course for real life people all round the world. 💙🙏🏽
10:19 Many people can debate about which character from GTA had the most saddest death. But for me, Louise's death was the most saddest death from the hole GTA franchise. Because unlike Roman, Michael or Trevor, their deaths were just optional and non-canon; Others like Big Smoke and Ryder, they died as a price for their betrayal against CJ and Sweet; and others like Johnny K or Vic, their deaths were just too fast that we couldn't be able to drop a tear. But unfortunely, Louise never had an alternative ending and being alive cannonically. She never betrayed Vic, and her death was so painfull to watch in every single moment. Also unlike other GTA girlfriends like Maria from GTA III, who put Claude and Toni in many troubles since they met, just like Ashley did with Johnny in TLAD and V; or Mercedez from VC, who barely interacts with Tommy; or Catalina from III and SA, who was extremely insane and psichothic, being able to betrayed so easily both CJ and Claude with no remorse; or Michelle/Karen from IV, who was an undercover IAA/CIA agent, sending to spy Niko. Louise was definitely one of the few normal girlfriends that we ever saw in the franchise, and it's very sad that Victor never had the chance to start an official relationship with Louise, both as a couple and a family.
More like a big mouth. He has his fun with guns and explosives, but he's actually not that revenge type or psycho guy. He doesn't shoot people for fun, if he does so, he has a reason. He's mostly just a drunk guy, who doesn't like himself and he makes mistakes under the influence. Nothing more I'd say. Though I agree, it's kinda strange how he doesn't do much about his sisters. Such an abusive asshat like Marty should've got more of a beating from him...
Only ogs know that if you go to the mall and enter it after Lance goes guns blazing in the mansion then all the Mendez guards will be de spawned when you go back to the mansion.
The one problem for me with the story is the relationship between Vic and Louise. I understand how this ending is sad but it has potential of being much more sadder. Hearing about this being one of the saddest scenes in GTA, I was expecting more. They start their interactions well but then we don't see Louise for a while. She suddenly comes back, which I forgot about her at that point. Somehow their relationship has developed since we last saw her. I can see how Louise likes Vic, Vic being the super hero etc. But no dialogue from Vic to Louise suggests to me that he has much interest in her until she returns for the last part of the game. And when Phil is talking to Vic after her death Vic says nothing. Despite this I do think it's a fantastic game and story. This is just my opinion, don't get mad. Great playthrough
@SAUCE GOD Adding sad music to the scene is a cool thought, although I do like that scene. The dialogue was great. It was this scene that made me want to watch a playthrough. I always remembered a game starting the main character as a soldier. Didn't know what game though. I will say a positive thing, I do like the mission where you save Louise and take her to the hospital. Because if you thought she'd die then, the ending is more shocking. Also the player could actually do something about saving her whereas in the end you have no control over what happens. My first time watching a playthrough of this game I actually agreed with Lance when he said "She wasn't right for you man", obviously she didn't deserve to die that way but yeah.
@@OfficialShadowViper I agree 100%. Because honestly, Vic and Louise have such little interaction with each other that this scene wasn't as compelling on a tragic standpoint because the storyline barely does anything with their chemistry. It would have been much better had it shown Louise trying to move on to a better life by getting her own house instead of staying stuck living at her sister's house and having more interactions with Vic so their relationship could develop more in the game, and that is what would make this scene sadder and more emotionally moving.
Ah, I remember trying to fight Armando Mendez after having Vic become fireproof from completing the Firefighter side mission, so I tried to fist fight him. It was fun throwing him around I think 🤣
I would love a game that had Vice City Stories Empire Building, San Andreas Gang Warfare, Chinatown Wars Drug Dealing, and Saints Row 2 customization. These games are so old yet had better features than most games today.
11:42 I forgot about the robbery outfit. I didn’t expect you actually wearing The robber outfit with the mask. Nice job recreating that outfit professional!
I used to grab the gang members and throw them into the tables so it technically wasn’t me breaking their shit lol. I also loved the buildings that had 2-3 floors of junk to smash b/c then I would bait the last gang member to the 2nd or 3rd floor and throw them over the railing and if they survived the fall I would jump down behind them and lock on to them as they were getting up so then Vic would put them in a head lock then punch or kick them once or twice then for the killing blow. I’d simply snap their neck.
The foreshadowing in VCS is testimony to the improvement of the writing team. Imo the Stories games have more in-depth storylines than III and VC, from my experience.
Louise really had the worst life in this game. Got beaten by her husband Marty and ran away to her sisters, then Lance got her on hard drugs, and Mendez kills her…
Poor Vic, it's like he ends up driving a junker to the Mendez mansion. "Cause of death? This f***er". Vic Vance, ME. So sad about Louise (reminds me a little of the death of Co in "Rambo: First Blood Part II" a little), and I like how Vic said that they had something special (I believe they did). Oh yes, the 'Robbery' outfit! I was kidding about TheProfessional going with this look, but I love it (also a good way to pull in more Patreon support).
@SAUCE GOD Looks like Lance Vance is taking his chance on that nose whiskey; since the guy's a bit, uh, off-center to begin with, his diet of coke isn't helping matters for sure!
I actually killed Armando Mendez with the MP5. I had other weapons but I killed him with the MP5. 11:19 Mission Passed even though you didn't accomplish anything, sure you killed Armando but Louise is dead.
11:45 Scared me at this point. But the suit is on point. Good playthrough as always, The Professional! 12:53 Diaz's laugh gets me. He laughs the same way after shooting pigeons.
Am I the only one who legit felt sad when Louise died specially considering the background she came from and Vic genuinely caring about her well being? Like the next GTA which made me this sad was Roman's/Kate's death in GTA 4.
@SAUCE GOD Unfortunately that's true. Killing Lance in VC felt great as also revenge for killing Louise and Vic. Half of the problems Vic got in VCS came from Lance.
At the end of Gta Vice City, Lance needs to die because he is causing sooooooooo much problems in Gta Vice City Stories and Lance is such a prick because that coke he got its no belong to Martinez it belongs to the Mendez Brothers
@SAUCE GOD Bro, everyone who watched this video already saw where the final mission in GTA Vice City Stories takes place because the person who gives the final mission already shown on the map at the end of the video (which in this case, Diaz)
Did anybody know that in Over the Top, you can actually visit Vic's former barracks, which is techincally the first "Safehouse" in the game? You can't visit it after the mission anymore, by the way!
Claude + Maria = Annoying and problematic ship Tommy + Mercedez = Very short relationship CJ + Denise = Grove Street gang ship Toni + Toshiko = Prohibited ship by mafia codes Vic + Louise = The most normal and beautiful ship Niko + Karen = Two-face ship Johnny + Ashley = Drug addict and problematic ship Luis + Joni = Erotic ship Franklin + Liz = CGF and Vagos gang ship Michael + Amanda = Complicated ship Trevor + Ursula = The perfect craziest ship Lester + Georgina = Multicultural and beautiful ship
This mission is actually harder than the last mission, due to stupid programming to Lance, those Mendez goons appearing out of nowhere if you kill one of those cars too early and those damn goons at the house keep coming in even after killing dozens of them. But saddest mission nonetheless.
I hope that Lance never encouraged Vic to steal the drugs or do something stupid because Louise, Lance and Vic still alive until this days if Lance never done it
Lance is such a terrible brother and he got Vic into so much trouble and he stole drugs from the menendez brothers and didn't care that Louise's death. Lance borrowed money from Diaz and didn't pay him back that would later lead to the events of Vice City that got Vic killed. Irony, Lance made a deal with the Forellis and try to work with Sonny. Vic killed the Forellis' assassins to protect Phil Collins in Vice City Stories and two years later, Vic and Lance try to make a deal with the Forellis.
