It's crazy, I just listened to a podcast with Derrick on my comute today and the host mentioned this product! I thought of you because I new the old ramp truck had a prototype! Plus congrats on your last video views, hopefully people will follow along with everything else you do!
I made my own out of 2 inch wide flat stock steel, measured how long they needed to be, drilled the screw holes at metal shop class on the drill press, and used the hand held plasma cutter make the slotted bolt hole. They have been great on my 78 c10.
And i watched Derek cut, and prep the hood savers and swap the stepside hood onto the square body 77 ramp truck and the cat farm crew cab tires and wheels when he decided to sell it
I'm surprised he put these out there because of liability. I'm not putting down the product. The hoods are designed to bend so in a front end crash the hood doesn't decapitate you. Thank you for your time.
I think it's funny that he bought the product that was announced using that truck hey announced the product with the ones that are already on the truck cuz as soon as I clicked and realized what he had bought I'm like that truck already has them on it
@@streetratgarageyeah I did continue watching the video and I get it I do have a question because I wasn't able to watch as good as I should have been able to do they still go between the hinge and the hood like originally cuz to me that looks a little odd
@@streetratgarage may I always just thought it was kind of odd placement for years I just used piece of angle iron and self tappers and never went that far back but I know that if we could go back in time and smack the engineer who designed that hood he is probably the most hated engineer in GM history lol
Cannot find them on the site now, but when I looked at first he was asking $50 for these when you can get the same from LMC for $20. A feller's not rich here, so had to pass.
I am sure they would but as long as you keep your hinges oiled properly, it should not be a problem. The old ones that I took off had even bigger VGG cut into them, and they hold up just fine.
Are you still thinking about possibly selling the green Buick? Or I'll trade you your Buick for mine? Mine needs far less work to finish & will most likely bring you a higher resell value...That is if you wouldn't want to keep a 66 BUICK 340,4bbrl V8 2dr hardtop muscle car? I'll check back every now & again to see if you respond in any way. THANX 4 your time & I enjoy your channel & content a great deal, keep up the good work & hats off!
I’m thinking about sell it. I really need to make some room. Not really looking for trades right now. I’m guessing in the next couple weeks things start going up for sale.
