Vice President Kamala Harris lands aboard Air Force 2 in Munich as the entire area is swarmed with police. All routes are shutdown as her motorcade exits the airport, but has to divert due to a traffic collision on the autobahn. All traffic, including an ambulance, must wait.
The Vice President of the United States is attending the Munich Security Conference along with many other Government officials, military leaders, business representatives and other VIPs. The agenda of the conference is world security issues, of which the war in Ukraine is high on the list.
The plane is a Boeing VC-32 (Modified Boeing 757) of the US Air Force's Special Air Mission, and carries the call-sign 'Air Force 2' when she is on-board. A C-17 Globemaster arrives as a backup plane, and may adopt the call-sign 'Air Force 2' if she has to use it. (Which she did, see that here: • Kamala Harris travels ... )
The armored car she travels in is 1 of 2 Chevrolet Suburbans, the other is an identical decoy. Protection is provided by the United States Secret Service, with assistance from the Munich Police Department and other agencies.

that's the standard procedure and bs EMS has to deal with alongside the route the convoy will head from the airport into the city. Some EMS stations and some countys can't cover their own response area and they're often hold up for minutes

That ambulance should never have been stopped. It would have been miles ahead of that convoy. Judging by the way it accelerated away they weren't very happy. I have never seen them stop ambulances in the UK not even for Royalty.

for anyone wondering you see the officer approach the ambulance most likely to ask if the patient on board or the call they are responding to is life threatening as to determine whether or not to let the ambulance through

no, definetly not. The officer tells them that there's no way they will enter the path of the convoy, no matter if they're heading to a critical patient or have one on board

Which is why at the Queens funeral in the UK they made Biden sit at the back as they refused to ride the bus with the other heads of state and government officials, so made him wait till everyone else was there before his motorcade could have 'Priority' on the route.

It is incredible how security of U.S. officials are provided in European countries. I think you saw Vicepresident Harris' motorcade at Mexico City and she didn't have that enough security or road closures as it happens in Europe. Brilliant catches, Cobra! Regards from Merida! :D

It's interesting to see just how much it varies from country to country. It is the same in the UK, only a few American vehicles and a few British, with only 1 minute road closures while the motorcade passes. But places like Germany and Belgium do them big! I believe that European countries should set limits and make it clear to the Americans that their paranoia and whims are going too far. The US presidents, VPs, State secretaries etc. demand security measures that are more stringent than what most European countries do for their own heads of States. That's nonsensical. It should be made clear to the Americans that the world is not their playground or colony.

Of course they are, the more Ukraine fights Russia the less the US potentially has to in the future. They're not stupid, the weaker the Russian military is here the less the US has to worry about them anywhere else. It is literally in their best interest to support Ukraine in this war, not saying that is a bad thing just saying they have a stake in the game to do so.

Ah I see you knew about the Munich Security Conference. May I ask at what time you spotted the ALS Emergency Ambulance at minute 3 in the video? There were several incidents on the interstate highways in the area At 3:23 that is exactly the bs we have to deal with when high ranked politicians arrive; Even EMS units may not enter the path the convoy of police and diplomatic protection service will take. Neither when responding to a scene nor when heading to a hospital. They are often hold up for minutes! In case you're spotting at the airport tomorrow as well, there's a chance that you might catch me on video when I respond to a call at the airport

Oh yes! Always good to aim for an event and then film other things around it. At approximately 10:53 CET! There was huge disruption in the area at the time with a multitude of factors. Emergency vehicles have to stop in the UK, too, but usually only for a few seconds as the motorcades are small and the streets aren't closed (much). Well, give us a wave if you do!

@CobraEmergency I sure will do so when I see you guys at the airport or in Munich. Ah then I don't know where it was responding to, didn't follow radio traffic at that moment. Most VIP police convoys will go with the flow of traffic, only the highest of politicians will have a convoy with the road being shut down entirely, resulting also in other emergency vehicles to wait

@@CobraEmergency I'm sorry but yesterday was a super slow day: I had only two calls (was also close to the airport, transporting one of the patients to Freising and running the 2nd call in Freising), but I returned to the station at 10:30 AM and didn't have any further alarm until night shift took over at 6:30 PM. That was super uncommon for a weekday, especially as my unit covers entire northern Munich County and the area south and west of the airport, halfway over to the town of Dachau and halfway to the town of Pfaffenhofen in the north

they shut down all roads and highways for the highest and most important politicians when going from the airport into the city, through the city or back to the airport. Also other emergency vehicles are stopped then
