Around 11:30AM, the Albuquerque Police Department received a call from a stolen truck victim stating that they found their truck at 1701 University Blvd NE, which is a Motel 6. The victims blocked the truck in and confronted the thief. The thief scurried back into a hotel room and the victims then drove to a safe location as instructed by APD.
APD arrived on scene and started making public address announcements for the occupants of the room to exit. A male and female were taken into custody by police. The victims identified the male suspect as the driver and police charged him receiving and transferring of a motor vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The truck was returned to the victims, and they were able to start it up again. A woman from the hotel room appeared outside as the victims inspected their recovered truck. A victim was seen inspecting items in the bed of the pickup. She discovered the cretin's belongings in the bed and threw them toward the hotel room.
