Don’t know why most managers he had didn’t think to use his best qualities. I believe Pep would love to have him as a player. Lindelof’s passing and vision is so underrated.
@@craigmillington1258 so true Southgate would rather call players who plays on the bench every week and leave out starting players.....I like Sterling because am Jamaican and he has Jamaican background but there's no way on earth he should get call over Marcus Rushford not the way he's playing now
I humbly take back my previous criticism of Lindelof. He won my utmost respect after ruthlessly executing that penalty kick . The way he ran off laughing and pointing indicates that he knows he has the trust of his teammates. We wish him all the best in this new resurgence and next chapter of his career.
@@laj1699 call him plastic fan but at least he has accepted he was wrong about the player. Some are still arguing that Lindell if not the level for United.
He makes a great pair with Luke Shaw. One shy, less physical, more technical defender, and the other a more outgoing and physical defender. Edit: both these guys have great vision too
Im so happy to see Lindelof getting recognition lately, ive been saying hes underrated for years now, he should of won our player of the year in 18/19. Really happy for him.
I get what you're saying but Shaw played really really good that season. But I wouldn't have minded if Lindelof got the award for 18/19 and then Shaw for 20/21. Lindelof and Shaw would've had at least 10-20 assists per season had it not been for some poor finishing.
Pogba should have won in 18/19, Lindelof and Shaw were overrated cause everyone was bad, Pogba was hated but he really carried our midfield and attack for the whole season
Theres a reason he's been a constant in the squad since Mourinho.....He's improved on his weaknesses physically, and I think he's now a tremendous defender. Next season I think Utd will be set with him, Licha, Varane, Shaw, and maybe signing one more centre half..... I
@@rhine123456 I think that Shaw can become a really good CB when he cannot run up and down the pitch as a LB anymore. But for now, he offers a lot to the team attacking wise when playing. So I think that we should keep him as LB for now. But yes, he is both very good in LB and CB
@@shitvideoquality4856 Shaw is good as an emergency CB but i trust him more as a fullback, we needed a left footed CB this summer to cover licha cause lindelof alone is not enough
Cant even think of letting this guy go. He should be the Caseimero backup if main CBs are available!Guy can defend with time on his hands and pings passes with left and right
He was actually always good. he plays great for Sweden and whenever has been given a chance to pair with a competent CB , has done well. Shame Maguire was his pairing
Lindelof is a nice and gentle person,, holding a low but reliable profile and isunusual faithful to his club. Since he as a 17-y.o. left his Swedish youth club BP, he has played for only two clubs - Benfica 2013-17, thrn Manchester United from 2017. Normally playing right midfielder he came 2015 in as a reserve for the injuried right back in the Swedish Ubnder-21 team, which in fact won the UEFA European title for that age. The final got to penalty shoot--out, and Lindelof scrored his one. After that he has always played right back or right inner.back. Only recently has he moved to left inner back in Man.U to help Maguire to a better position for him?
Lindelöf played mostly CDM & RB for Benfica's B team, before moving into CB when joining the first team in 2016. 🟡Subscribe for more football videos like this! 🎥 How To Find Football Clips For FREE nostfc.com/guide
Benfica loves to switch young player's position. Just like they did with Matic, but no manager would switch back to their original youth role. Imagine any manager who switch Casemiro to be a striker again 😅
Honestly if utd really want timber or Kim min jae ..I’d be using lindelof as backup for casimero cdm all day he’s patient positioning decent and passing is top
as a united fan, i personally didnt realise how good he was at this sort of stuff. hes so underrated and as people have been saying, maguire definitely dragged him down, just look at him playing with shaw at the back these last few games. such a reliable backup player
@@the__answerr He uses 4 central defenders in defense instead of 2 or 3 cd's and 2 wingbacks, with 1 central defender who are allowed to roam into the midfield to help out with offense. Playing with a backline of four central defenders with one allowed to roam in possession gives Man City more options in both attack and defense, making them more unpredictable and difficult to play against.
It's because central defenders usually are better and tougher defenders than wingbacks, and also because wingbacks can be caught operating too high up the field and give away dangerous counter attacking opportunities. It's enough to have two attacking wingers to cover the wide areas, when you have 4 cd's.
I like the lad and fair play to him for keeping the head together at United when everyone was critical of Uniteds defence, playing with people you can't trust to do a job and the pressure was on every time he played,he's a propper pro,a international player and has balls, well done lad! trust him at united when he plays and definitely now with the addition of a few quality defenders added to the squad..big balls he has!
Any defenders can pass long balls, but to do it like Lindelof is rare. The weight of the pass and the way the pace of the ball slowly deteriorates over the duration of the pass is just mind-blowing. For comparison, please take a look at Maguire's long passes. Often too much pace on it and makes it difficult for teammates to control.
i love this player a lot. play with his heart for united. just hoping he could work on his strength if united keep playing him as a cb. he would be great deep lying playmaker like Michael Carrick ❤
Lindelof plays full back sometimes and that’s how good he is. English media tried hard to blame everyone except Maguire in any Maguire defensive partnership
So happy he's finally getting the credit he deserves. He's always been this good, he's just had Maguire next to him dragging him down and making him look worse
his intelligence is also so underrated, he doesnt need blistering pace to keep a high line because he always steps up at the right time and aggressively to win the ball before getting bypassed. no need to talk about his technique, has been elite and always stood out even under Ole, the amount of assists he would get with diagonals to rashford
Yeah a lot of people forget he's actually quite good, because his form was hurt badly being shackled to Maguire for the last few seasons. Plus add to that he had a bad back injury which had him out a long spell, and it takes time to get one's game back to where it was after that kind of injury. Add further to that, the fact that most of the squad came out after Ole's sacking as feeling they weren't being improved under Ole's training system. Those 3 things add up to a hell of a hurdle when it comes to improving or even maintaining one's form. Right now, under EtH and no longer stuck with maguire, he's coming back into the form that got him signed at United in the 1st place. I wouldn't start him over a healthy Varane or Martinez right now, but he's a damn valuable option to replace either when they need resting or have a knock. I think he's highly underrated by many United fans.
Me personally i reckon lindelof as a backup cdm next season or even for some parts of this season could work well with his patience and occasional runs as well as is amazing over the top and long balls
Only those United fans who watch our games and not looking solely at stats know how good Lindelof has always been at pinging the ball, similar to Blind they are not the strongest and most physical but read the game well and can pass so well
lindelof has always been a really great defender and even better at distribution- he struggled with heading the ball when he first came to united and as a result, all of our fans wrote him off. but he's an excellent defender, distributor and header of the ball, now. easily been our best center back the last 3-4 years.
He's an excellent penalty taker and has incredibly good on the pitch intelligence especially when defending and calculating the oppositions next move. I have always ranked him as one of Man Utds better and much more unique players. It's a shame it has taken until ETH to utilize his full potential at our club. He deserves a contract extension when his expires that's for sure. Quality player who many doubted too soon.
I think he can potentially play in the hybrid role, similar to John Stones at Man City. Casemiro could cover defensively, which would make Lindelofs game stand out even more. He would be a major upgrade over Fred/McTominay.
solskjaer kew his potential and used it well his long balls and the he changed the ball from defense to offense was really something i hope we use him more often next seaon
we have to understand that lindelof in sweden is very good because he can trust his teammate. when he plays with mcfridge, he cant trust him and is afraid to play more openly incase he gets exposed behind. I've been watching a lot of sweden games because since the start, i started liking lindelof and was pretty sure his problem is playing with mcfridge.
Trent vision and passing accuracy is on another level. I believe if Lindeloff had a good manager that fully utilized his abilities to reach his full potential. We might have our own Trent at Man united.
The problem was Maguire and we're blaming Ronaldo and lindelof for it...cuz the moment varane and martinez came into play.. things were better from previous....
BTW this is more what is meant by "ball-playing CB" than what has been said of Maguire previously. actual line braking passes with many leading to chances or assists. line breaking runs while evading pressure and making space for others and being able to pass and move through a press. it's not just long diagonal switches of play under minimal pressure. If United want to get back to the elite level, this is a good level of player to have as a squad/rotation option.
It's quite clear that Maguire makes players around him look bad! Lindelof is a good ball playing defender. I learnt that he usually plays as a defensive midfielder at Benfica before being converted to a central defender.
