Victoria's Best BIG Fish Lake | Catching Flathead & Bream 

This time of year it usually is still more active than it was, We had really high floodwaters and the mouth was closed so it made fishing extremely hard but was still awesome to get out there for the first time 👌 The fishing in that lake when its active is 100% worth the trip i believe after seeing the quality fish in there 🎣

To be honest mate it was that cold and wet, Fishing was that slow, I believe he would have been extremely happy at home with the heater on 😂 He did get an invite but he had just got back from a work trip and didn’t have time unfortunately

Estuary, a river that flows into the ocean. So closer to the mount with have higher salinity. Also there is something called a salt wedge. I believe deeper down it's fresher

How does the mouth open and close? And where at

@@TobysfishingNoutdoors It usually opens up naturally as the river or lake gets high enough it will start to flow over the sandbar that separates the ocean and the river or lake and create an opening for fish to swim in and out. It is closed at the moment the mouth so there is a big sandbar that maybe needs to be excavated with heavy machinery as the lake is super flooded at the moment and its still not open to the ocean and the fishing has been terrible for weeks apparently because of the lack of salt water and bait coming into the lake 👌🎣

It definitely was a double clutch, We caught nearly all fish on hardbodies over the weekend away and even the big flathead ate hardbodies in there and the colour didn’t matter too much but i just grabbed any that i had available and used it. Not too sure on the colour of it but i know it works well 👌🎣

@@georgekolls9431 Haven’t really planned anything but being only 30 minutes away i can last minute plan one of those trips, The long walk is what turns me off 😂
