Dr. Grande. 1) As a doctor I would assume he would be more concerned about Abigail possibly committing self-harm by publicizing her shame like this. 2) It very well might have been a legitimate panick attack. 3) She might have had other mental issues. 4) It might not have been her fault from the beginning. 5) Race was never brought up by Abigail (the only time race was mentioned was regarding the "white tears" comment from the person filming 6) He also never addressed why the video was posted on social media in the first place 7) He left out possible financial motivation from the person filming getting over 100k 8) it looks like the video was edited prior to posting to social media.
She should according to her Instagram she was “sitting pretty in her car while all the blacks are mad in her DM’s” she is a racist Karen. 🙄🙄🙄😑 she should be locked up in Jail….. she isn’t mentally unstable she is using the same thing that has always been done. Her white privilege to get black people murdered. Emmit Till is a perfect example of this….
That’s not what actually started it. What started it was, Ukenta was at a rack looking through it when Elphick came right next to her, reached around her, and placed an item onto the rack.. (which wasn’t problematic). The problem was that Elphick stayed right there shoulder to shoulder continuing to go through the rack. So, Ukenta said, “Excuse me,” and asked Elphick to respect the 6ft Covid distance ESPECIALLY since Elphick wasn’t wearing a mask. Elphick didn’t like that and went to the cashiers asking them to call Security because Ukenta was “rude and threatening her.” Being accused of making threats is what prompted Ukenta to start recording. Elphick swung BEFORE realizing she was being recorded. And she swung because Ukenta was refuting the lie that she ever threatened Elphick. It was only AFTER taking a swing that Elphick realized that Ukenta wasn’t going to fight back and instead chose to record. And when she realized that the attack was recorded, that’s when she retreated from being the aggressor, denied the assault, and understood that she was going to end up online.
Exactly! These Karen’s bait you while they are the aggressors bc they know how it will turn out for a black person. Black people are inherently assumed to be the aggressor in ALL situations. When she realized she was being recorded and the lady wasnt fighting back, she went into full “I’m scared” Karen mode. If she was that scared she would have gotten as far away from her as possible!!! Not stay there and swing at her. People wake up to the manipulation please. WW been doing this forever because they can. People still don’t get it. Smh 🤦🏾♀️
Thanks for giving the public context. I was wondering what the white woman had done for Ukenta to feel that she needed to record their interaction, a defensive tool that black people now have.
I know many women that have no sense of shame whatsoever. But in their case, they plan more carefully than Elphick and they make sure their horrendous acts are done in secret.
This is a common extortion game. It is bait and switch. False accusations and then film as if you are the victim. It can cause the target to react from the primitive brain. It is actually physical brain damage and the police understand these games. Probably she has been treated like this menus times and feels she is losing her mind. People are branded racists and told they have no rights and to keep their mouth shut.
Yep. I remember that one. That was the move back in the day. Don't like it, whatever it is? Find a comfortable, safe place, and just pass out! Not my fault. I'm outta here, like that, passed out. Can't you see?
I believe she was in complete control of herself during every second of this. She tried the tactic of threats and aggression, then tried the tactic of crying and becoming the victim. When that didn't work, she slowly collapsed to get sympathy from other shoppers. The leg shaking was an elevation of that sympathy bid, as if she had some medical emergency. Then it was back to a combination of aggression and being threatened as she ran after the other woman while telling her to get away. She knew exactly what she was doing, and had complete control the whole time.
@@bthomson I'd call them "over the top." Jim Carrey's onscreen antics sometimes seemed out of control, and yet he always had complete control. And this woman is nowhere near the performer Jim Carrey is.
I felt like the leg shaking was because her “fainting” didn’t get the reaction she was looking for. Like when a toddler starts the kicking part of a tantrum.
I know it would be nice if we lived in a black and white, good guys and bad guys sort of world, but this is pretty likely a person with mental health issues. Your personal indifference to the possibility is pretty common when people who don't seem "crazy enough" to most normally functioning people have actual psychological episodes in public. You have absolutely no business speaking with a significant amount of certainty on this issue unless you are experienced in the field of mental health.
Geometry and logic elude Elphick as she closes the distance while screaming "get away from me" as I wipe the tears of laughter from my eyes. Well done Doc
She continues to use temper tantrums because she’s had past success with them. How on earth did her family support this behavior? Looks like there’s going to be a major behavioral shift, or correction, in this young woman’s behavior. She was very much aware that there might be consequences from this tantrum, as she told the police of her concerns about losing her job and her apartment. SMH!
She could, and should have been charged with assault. Assault isn't necessarily physical contact, it's more about the threat. "An assault is carried out by a threat of bodily harm coupled with an apparent, present ability to cause the harm. It is both a crime and a tort and, therefore, may result in either criminal or civil liability."
@@eleanoraquitaine2966 she's definitely a toddler. That's exactly what I found myself looking at when I watched the video. First thing that popped in my head.

@@melvynobrien6193 She was filming because she wanted to document exactly what this white woman was going to do. With or without being filmed these Karens escalate and endanger poc when they eventually call the cops. Every poc should record these people.
@@melvynobrien6193 Guess you didn't see the start, where VS-Karen advanced towards the other woman with her hand raised like she was going to hit her before she noticed the recording & promptly backed up? Good on her for filming, I say!
Yeah! I was like, she could have just said "sorry, I don't know what I was thinking" immediately and just walked away. None of this would have happened.
I think she Immediately knew she f’ed up! But damn, the drama! The privilege lies in the fact that didn’t bother to immediately leave, because she knew the police would be on her side.
Do you realize how much dumb bs these people put up with in one mall shift? He's likely been there for years.. look at the bags under his eyes. Exhausted.
I find Dr. Grande's dry-as-a-bone humor absolutely hilarious! 2:50 - I lost it when he said, "geometry and logic don't seem to be Elphick's strong suit!" lol.
Yea that was a classic. And also when he said "she featured both" when referring Karen's response using a temper tantrum or sympathy to get a response from others. "Featured" LOL
But what is with the filming? I atleast find it pretty offensive that she did'nt stop filming with her phone. I would get pretty mad if someone followed me with a phone, filming. What is the whole point?
I don't understand how no one told her to shut up. I can't handle children screaming, I certainly wouldn't be able to tolerate a grown ass woman acting like that.
Oh really? Truly i would have guess older than 25; 45 maybe. I think someone acting this way Has to be the result of stress. Sure...she can also not be a nice person; but also just out of her mind. Out of control in life. I don't like the situation but I think Elphick certainly needs some help and compassion.
LOL...I know what you mean! My neighbor's narcissistic full grown adult brother when he can't get his way and starts to cry and pass out! I've witnessed it and its pathetic and funny at the same time!
I’ve had panic attacks and I can barely talk, breathe, and move let alone call the cops. Never did I have a temper tantrum during a panic attack. I have hyperventilated, tried to ground myself, and literally couldn’t carry a conversation with anyone else. I almost called 911 after my first one but took myself to the ER because I thought I had a heart attack. Panic attacks are so scary and most of the time you feel like you can’t breathe. She never said anything like that. She was manipulating the situation. The doctor got it right 100%.
I’m sorry, I have panic episodes too, and unfortunately a lot of people who don’t seem to equate them with temper tantrums… far from. I still remember the first panic attack I had, how tight my chest was, how I felt like I couldn’t breathe, it’s terrifying and you can’t just snap out of it. Even after years and therapy, I still have panic attacks, and while I may become irritable, overwhelmed, and have to leave, I have never, nor have I witnessed anyone I know who also have panic attacks ever behave other than maybe crying, like this lady. She definitely behaved in an attention seeking manner- panic attacks are not attention seeking.
I also had them, and I only managed to went the nursing room where I worked or asked someone to take me to the hospital. I couldn't breathe, stop crying and talk normally. No way in hell I could scream (one time the nurse took one hour to get my personal information because I couldn't speak, so she gave oxygen and keeping saying "every thing is fine, you're ok, I'm here" and if she needed to go to another room, she always said" I'm right back, but if you need me, make some noise" (it was a small nursing on the mall, so she would have listened). I once talked to a Uber who also had them and he told that he had the same symptoms but would also pass out, and because of that he stopped working as a driver for some time because on one time he only had time to stop the car on the sideways (he was telling me how better he got and how important is to take care of yourself). I mean, this lady is something else -.-... She's just trying to manipulate people.
The woman having the fit was in a full blown narcissistic rage. An adult acting like a toddler is not normal and seems to be the manipulation of a narcissist.
Way too many people like this in America, today. It’s the Freedom crowd - freedom from responsibility to society, others, and for emotional discipline and character. I suspect they were spoiled brats that never emotionally matured and who missed the benefits of higher Ed, opting for over-priced job training (which, far from actually educating them, instead stokes their overblown, infantile egos). I could be wrong, but I don’t think so.

@@grandmaida7819 It's a good thing Ukenta DID record her bizarre behaviour. Otherwise, when the police arrived, it would have been a matter of a white woman accusing a black woman of assault, and, without exonerating evidence, we know how that would have ended for Ukenta.
Whaaat! Oh shite, I was thinking late 30's early 40's. Well damn you got me, now I feel bad for her. That's just sad. Nope nvm you have to be lying I refuse to believe that she is in her 20's. 🙅🏾♀️
You made a wonderful analysis of this particular event. I've only got one thing to add: The woman recording was certainly under the threat of being falsely accused. She says as much: who are they going to believe, her white ass or my black ass (or something like that). Narrating the recording is also serving the purpose of giving context. Threat isn't just imminent threat, it is fear over backlash as well.
Yes the sardonic "bye karen", as she came back to get one last shot of the women lying quietly on the ground before going to check on the yoga mats, definitely is helpful context!
@@Benson_Bear Seriously? That's your argument? Ukenta says it from behind the safety of the camera and I think she kept a rather civilized tongue compared to Elphick. That doesn't mean that there wasn't a threat coming from Elphick, the "damsell in distress", even though it wasn't imminent at the moment Ukenta said it. For her it was a release of tension to laugh. And let's face it, anyone seeing Elphick's behaviour with a little knowledge of how actual mental disturbed people react will call her Karen too and laugh at her ridiculous performance. Elphick is a disgrace to the cause of mental health awareness. Her example makes it difficult for people to learn the right response to a person with a real anxiety attack. And that I find at least as much of a problem. I do have an appropriate response to Elphick: a bucket full of cold water.
From my experience working retail when we had a situation with an irate and disrespectful customer we basically just ignored her as much as we could until security arrived. I think because directly confronting a customer is dangerous, it’s the same reason we can’t stop someone who’s stealing.
Guarantee she did it every time she got in trouble as a child, and her parents ALWAYS gave in to her, rather than disciplining her as most of our parents did when we tried that crap.
If she hadn't done anything as the black woman started filming, it would have been nothing, and her job and apartment would be safe. Everything she did made it 10 times worse. But, this is probably how she's been acting since she was a child, to get out of trouble.
I'd bet that too. At the part where Elphick "falls down" on the floor, I had instant recall of memories of my (younger) Narcissist sister doing exactly that to get out of doing anything she was told to. My Narcissist mother used to laugh loudly at the drama. They both fed each other's dysfunction.
@@Tabby.cat2 it was! She grew up to be a professional victim, and attached herself to a man who exhibits a lot of Co-Dependant traits (compulsive caretaking, making endless excuses for her lies, spite, antagonism, etc), so she has another enabler now. Before I started no contact with her, her husband used to complain that she'd stonewall him (silent treatment) when she didn't want to do something. Narcissists aren't interested in personal growth, only control and power over others through manipulation. My sister is a stunted individual. I've been watching Jamie Lynn Spears' behaviour with interest. Britney and her sister are poles apart.
"People asked Ukenta to leave". I really hate situations like this, I guess asking the calm person to leave is the path of least resistance and easiest way to diffuse a situation but gives the loud, agressive people what they want and is completely spineless.
There were people in the comments sayin that the black lady should have not scared her. And the black lady had no business in the store. I asked them how that was something logical to say? And they tried to correct themselves by saying..." No no I meant. The black lady should have not shopped there." I was like..... How and the hell is that correct?
I dont, they should have checked her instead of the victim. The staff should have escorted her off the premises immediately! If the Black woman had lunged at that lunatic , she'd have been arrested.
My beautiful min pin does this to my bigger labrador and to stray cats. Hey there, I am sorry you have had to deal with that for so long. I am a therapist and am wondering if you feel like you have good support or counseling? Have you heard of EMDR, which stands for Eye Movement Desentitization and Reprocessing? It is a type of therapy technique that helps reduce distressed feelings around stress, traumatic memories, loss, etc. I have clients get amazing relief on anxiety with it. If you look at some RU-vid videos about it and find a local therapist that is trained in it, it might get you more relief. Clearly you are a good hearted person and deserve to be freer and happy. Much peace to you!
That woman’s behavior is terrifying beyond words, this is exactly how my mom behaved. It’s like double speak through action, acting like the victim while actively attacking you so blatantly they’ll be physically striking you while screaming begging you to stop hitting them. Or sobbing almost collapsed on the floor in the only exit door way then instantly jumping up to charge at you. So terrifying.
All while being filmed, as if she was getting a few "takes". Did she think someone would cut out the part where she dramatically changed demeanor several times?
I'd rather think of the bad apple state of things. Hopefully most of humanity is not shameless - but those who are cause much of the trouble in this world! This makes it seem as though their number is magnified!
When the store employee called security, the employee probably told security that Karen is back. Security takes his time arriving at the scene in hopes that Karen would just leave, because he probably didn't feel like dealing with a Screeching Karen today.
It’s actually quite scary to have someone chasing you, especially when they’re charging at you like Elphick. Honestly, she should be deeply ashamed of her behavior. It was vile. It’s a shame no one asked her to leave the store.
I don’t think the black lady would’ve stopped - she was out for blood, and she got it - even if the other one had apologized she would have made up whatever she wanted about the lady - her only mistake was to throw that tantrum
If she's so worried about her job & home she should start behaving like a grown up. My grandchildren have grown out of tantrums, admittedly they're a mature 4 & 6 yrs old. Ffs

@@Sick1982 the karen would have acted even worse. Remember she even tried to take a swipe at the black lady before she knew she was being recorded. Total privileged cry baby.
@@Sick1982 imho whenever a black person is involved in an incident even with video like this - some racist will find fault with the black person. EVERYTIME
I definitely wouldn’t want this lunatic looking after my children, even as an assistant. Must be where she is copying her tantrums from. Remove this unbalanced individual with mental health problems from being next to children from concerned member of the public
If someone rushed at me AS IF they were going to attack me, that person needs to feel lucky if I whip out my phone as opposed to raising my hands to smack a bitch back. The intent was obviously there and Ms. Ukenta was smart to get it all on video.
That’s ok, if someone attacks you just get your camera out and film, don’t try and escape the attacker or Flee to safety. Store footage now shows she never touched her
When I'm scared I laugh. My Mom does too. She gets pulled over and it's giggles. I think the Ukenta was afraid of the police BELIEVING the lady gyrating on the floor.
