Gosh, I watched this video so many times, but I’m always amazed to hear them talk about their characters. A big part of Drumfred is the no talking, the fact that for the majority of the episodes we saw them, it was literally years of them just looking at each other. So to see the actors talk about them that way, reflect exactly what we saw in the long regard they gave to each other and put all these secret feelings into words is amazing.
Their love for eachhother shown with that gentle kiss giving them the feeling of flight & freedom was the most moving of all story lines in Victoria. That drummand died destroyed me & as Lord Alfred couldn't keep the tears from flowing several times from the funeral etc made me cry often, I so understand the feeling of their 1st & only love though it not be acceptible by society was just too much for me as I know how that felt when 1st found love of a beautifull young man as I was at 19. To see drummands face light up with that smile in Scotland was like being free at last though you have no choice of how you feel being like that but in a closet all of their life really tore my heart out as they did it so well & so true to how meeting a man for the 1st time is even these days but less so in the late 70s though in reality they wern't gay the story gave us what it was like to feel that way when no other str8 man can possibly understand that as it wasn't about sex but love, In love that makes one feels free for the 1st time in ones life, I so admire how they shared little jests & looks that only they knew what these inuendos meant from France onwards to Scotland bk to London.,
Couldn't have said it better myself!!!! You talk beautifully 😊 I know, their storyline was my favourite, I just melted when they had their first kiss in Scotland and they were both so happy, I too was like that with my partner when we were falling for each other. I was gutted when he died, and when the duchess have Alfred the letter, as he was reading it you can tell he stopped breathing......so powerful, oh my heartl!!!! 😢😢😢 I know he didn't do much in season 3 but I'm so hoping he finds someone else in season 4
I don't know who they are, and their background, but it seems to me that they come from the series itself, like they ARE victorian, the way they talk and move LOVE IT
pan pidżon search the case of M’Naghton, he’s the guy who attempted the assassination of Peel and got Drummond instead. That case brought around the current definition of insanity😊
Because the real life Drummond murdered in a similar way. Once they cast him, the part Mr Drummond was always going to die. That being said, since there is no evidence that the two had a gay relationship IRL, they could have picked someone who wasn’t going to die, to be the gay love story for Lord Alfred , especially since the real life Drummond was way older in his 50’s when he was shot. They didn’t have to cast the actor as Drummond and could have still had the gay romance the same way, without falling into the “kill the gays” cliche. I love the show but I am so tired of seeing gay romance end in death on tv and in film.
"How well equipped you are!" Oh, milord...you can say that again! I'd never go anywhere without his tinder-box, either! 😄 Joking aside, this is great stuff! I don't know if these two have been groomed for the press junket in the sense of being told what to say but, if they haven't, it's remarkable how insightful their comments are, especially for two (presumably) straight actors. I expect they're speaking in their own voices and they both sound so Oxbridge. Posh, drop- dead gorgeous men in Victorian attire! It doesn't get any better than that! Time machine, please! 😄

At .46 Jordan says "you aren`t entirely sure what`s going on between us but I`m a bit of an old hand when it comes to these relationships". Does he mean Alfred or Jordan is an old hand?
Wendy Anderson-thanks for the reply. That makes sense-I didn`t think Jordan was gay in real life. In another interview, he said that onscreen kiss was the first time he and/or Leo had kissed another man. Doncha think these two guys should do a movie together?
Jacqueline-I couldn`t agree more.I`ve said that right from the beginning (about their chemistry). I just don`t know why they would choose to end the most interesting storyline on the show like that. There is so much more they could have explored with that situation and these two actors, as amazingly talented as they are and as much as they like each other in real life, could have done an amazing job of bringing it to life. I think the writer really messed up on this one.
