There are 3 brands that I've collected several knives from over the years that have always come out of the box razor sharp: Spyderco, Buck and Victorinox. I like how the Alox series of Victorinox just seem to be more robustly built and to an even higher quality level than their regular models, which are of decent quality to begin with. 👍Thanks for this review and Cheers!

I have an original soldier alox from 2008. Just got two of these for my grandsons from Heinnie, for when they’re old enough. Brilliant knives, much sturdier blade than the standard SAK.

Slippy I had one them I modified only big blade to a sheepfoot as I work on farms controlled rats and vetwork trimming hooves but fie edc not for me I prefure a large and small blade but you can't fault a sak felix immler on youtube tells you how to sharpen them saws too👍🇬🇧🐾🦊🇨🇭

The Alox versions are much sturdier imho, the blades and tools are made of thicker steel.. The downside is they're heavier,,.I have this one,, a very classy, perfectly made knife,, I carry this one in my "woods" bag, in case I need a saw,, 👍😊

Great choice Matt, the sawblades from Victorinox are really good useable. The Alox full size models mostly have a bit thicker blade on the spearpoint blade, which makes it more durable. Great model, thank you Matt.

A great knife. I’m a big fan of the Alox knives. Victorinox does a great job with them. My problem is deciding which one to get!

@@SlipjointSawyer I originally got the Alox Pioneer as a potential replacement for my trusty Kamp King (Imperial) (Boyscout knife). My favorite knife but long since no longer made. The Pioneer is great but the scissors and saw on the Farmer X appealed to me, so I passed the Pioneer onto my dad and got the Farmer X. The Kamp King mostly sits on a hook on my desk, avoiding being lost.

Hey Matt , nice one! The technical term for the alox texturing is dimpling.Well that's what I call it. One thing rarely mentioned about the awl on the alox models is that it is far superior to the red models. It has a return on it that really allows purchase on material. Regards Tony.🐴🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Great knife there Slippy! Loving the Alox styles. One thing I do like about the Alox version is that I don’t feel like I have to baby it as much or worry about dripping it and breaking the scales/covers.

Excellent knives. Put a pin blade in one of those ,because I use them so much, I would surely buy it! Otherwise, these are absolutely superb knives. I’ve never found a problem in any Victorinox knife. One of my favorite knife Brands . Thank you for the videos sir!

Thanks for the review. I've never understood the logic from Victorinox to put the keychain loop where they have on the Alox models. It digs into my hand whenever I use the knife or saw. Yes people in the comments section, I know we can grind or file down the loop!
