I am one of the 760 who backed this on Kickstarter 4 years ago. I remember how worried we were the last week, because at that point, it didn't look like it would make it. But we just managed to get it funded. It is lovely to see how much love this is getting right now, and I am proud to be one of the people who made this modern masterpiece a reality.

I've followed the development of this game for quite a bit. My overall standard for video games, arcade games, and arcade racers is Outrun 2, so I have an eagle eye for games like this. Of all the games of the past, this one reminds me of a modern Power Drift with much more polished drifting and handling. Love your videos, this channel was made for an old arcade kid like me.

What an absolutely BEAUTIFUL game...some of the best art that I've ever seen in a game, specifically a racing game. It's like cel shading with amazing programming and hit detection between cars. This is a really special game, I applaud the creators. Chef's kiss, for sure

That was the first thing that I noticed! INCREDIBLY jarring.... I get that it's retro inspired, but perhaps some tweaking of the animation for this transition might work better!

I think the miss for you might be one of two things, just tired of nostalgia bait gaming, and essentially this is a 3D polygon game trying to capture super scaler vibes, but if you look closely, this is 3D. In my opinion it’s visually close enough to get enough of that itch scratched, and it looks fun. I don’t feel this is a crash grab but a love letter. I get why someone wouldn’t want it. It’s chirp Q and power drift mix, I don’t see the outrun vibe.

4 or 8K Ridge Racer would be good. No need to add gameplay mechanics. Just make everything look great and a soundtrack to match. A remaster of RR7 would be enough.

I'm very excited for this game for when it drops on Switch. This style of arcade racing is just one that I feel like is so hard to replicate (Sega's style of drifting sensations and camera work), and this game makes it look so easy to do. Definitely will be picking this up eventually in the future

I don't like the jerky animation for the car turning. It looks REALLY difficult to judge the position and way it turns in corners. I might be interested in this if it comes out for Android (with hardware controller support and a free demo).

I wanted to like this game but this is the first racing game that gives me motion sickness. I played plenty of Mario Kart, Dr. Robotniks Ring Racers, Crash Team Racing and those games didn’t do that to me. Is there a setting / mod that could help?

I've had mixed feelings about the demos I've played for the game, so many times I played and enjoyed what I was playing only to reach a point of frustration either with AI car rubber banding on wonky handling characteristics... but maybe this time it's really ironed out? The rally stages have a great sense of speed and distance that remind me of the XF Drive demo from a while back (I was gutted that it turned into XF Extreme formula, because I disliked that game) XF Drive felt fresh, fast, and exciting as you wove your way through a long winding course and I get that feel from the rally stages. The regular stages apear to have lots of variation and feel less cramped than the ones in the demos, another plus in it's favor. Maybe during a sale...

To me this doesn't really look particularly Sega, as they never really went full cartoon with the visuals. Instead this looks like a sprite scaling version of Choro Q to me, but much faster. There's also maybe some Motor Toon Grand Prix in there.

The drift mechanic is pure Mariokart 64, the way the camera spins around the car after the race, the cutsey and silly sound effects, and even the soundtrack all feels Mariokarty to me. Not that that's a bad thing, Mariokart is a great series.
