We've two members of our local riding group with Victories and there's something really special about those bikes, the design is so clean and clutter free. Seeing you guys throwing mostly stock bikes around is really impressive. Love the channel.
I test rode one last year during Sturgis.....bought one the next day. LOVE IT. I rode 3200 mile round trip on my VTX1800, and the thing about beat the snot out of me...can NOT wait to take the same ride on my Cross Country!!
Thomas NUNYA the air ride suspension is very nice and will let you ride for a long time. I ride a Vision and never thought I would've bought a bike that big, but I was at a Victory demo day and got to ride a handful of their bikes, the Vision ended up being my favorite ride. Great bikes! I hope you have many miles of fun on your Cross Country.
+You. Me. ADV you don't have to be aggressive you just have to be having a good time. Thanks for the feedback. Always great to hear Victory owners opinions.
Love your videos and the way you ride! Always looking forward to your videos, especially, with me being a Victory owner and brand backer! Now that Polaris has dropped the Vic line, I hope that guys like us stick together and keep the name alive and seen on the streets!! Mine will remain in my possession til I'm dead!
I'm a little late to the party, but it's a pleasure for me to be able to say, that I have three Different model and makes , of Victory Motorcycles in my personal collection. I have a Vision, a Kingpin, and a Highball. Out of my entire collection, The Kingpin is by far my favorite Bike. But it's got a super charger on it as well. Hahaha 💯 percent" badass bike!!!
Was at a near by victory dealer and sat on victorys in comparison to the used Harley's there that were similar in size and holy shit I was surprised how much more comfortable they are. Going back when the weathers not single digits for a test ride.
R Manglǝr you will probably find the Harley better when actually riding it. The Indians are better than the Victories also. Opinions vary so try them all and choose whatever impresses you the most.
There isn't much of a comparison of Victory bikes and Harley's. The Vics are better built bikes. The draw backs were that they weren't as, "finished", as most people would like. You buy a Harley, you have to spend more money to adjust things ergonomically to fit where you don't on a Victory. Plus it's on the road more than a Harley. More reliable.
TonyStunts1 I knows its an old comment, but I broke left shoulder, clavical, torn cup and labrum..its been a year..still struggle turning a car....one day I Pray we both ride again brother!
3 years to get an answer, at 100 mph it was smooth sailing, I had only owned it for about 20 minutes before I opened it up and its crisp and powerful, handles very well and no wobble.
Tony, do these have a chain conversation? I love the style of the octane, it's like my Dyna, and I'd love to get an every day rider so I don't damage my Harley. Thanks
+Chris Miller no chain conversion still using belts and they are strong. The octane is pretty light for a cruiser at about 530lbs. We converted to a chain on another setup and realized it wasn't necessary so traction is key for wheelies more than gearing
TonyStunts1 Thanks for replying. I guess its just out spite of having everything chained, my Dyna included. Its just force of habit and a bit of fear from a belt snapping on me first riding a cruiser. Granted it was an older belt but still had life in it.
Chris Miller in three years on 3 different belt driven Victorys I have honestly never busted a belt riding the way that I do. But I do change tires often and I keep them adjusted proper. I understand where you are coming from though. Someone makes a chain conversion for the octane but I believe it requires changing the rear wheel. Not sure who makes the conversion.
Thank you for all your help. Ive always liked victorys looks as well as the performance that you get. Plus you ride one and do it insanely well. Thank you Tony.
TonyStunts1 I was just about to say, what now? Victory is done and what is left is all there is😢 The only way i buy Indian is if they keep a few of the Victory models. Otherwise i will stick with preowned or Japanese.
Cruiser Brewser unfortunately the majority of buyers disagree that's why Victory is done for now. The sales figures just weren't there. They had some nice bikes. there's always used ones for sale and really cheap too.
Victory made a good bike, but alone, they were not making a dent in market share, in fact, after 18 years, they held 3% Indian was selling 15:1 with only 9 models in 2 product lines. There is no way to make a dent in HD market share when you are only running with 9 models and 2 product lines compared to HD's 37 models in 5 product lines, 6 if you include the Live Wire (not in production yet). I am 100% sure that 7-8 best selling Victory models will re-emerge as a new product line under the Indian banner. Right now there are 2 product lines, the Scout line-up (2 models) and the Chief line-up (7 models). (3 more models coming Feb 25 under the chief product line, but i am not sure all 3 will be unveiled that day). They will re-badge some popular Victory models under a new product line using the Indian name to bring Indian into a new, younger demographic that is not looking for a nostalgic motorcycle, who are looking for a modern look. Hell, i can even see them adding a 4th product line by rebadging the Empulse TT as an all new Indian electric. When all is said and done, i can see 4 product lines for Indian, Scout line, Chief line, Modern line(not sure what it will be called) and the electric line. This will give Indian roughly 20 models under 4 product lines putting them in line with HD's 6 product lines. The only product line that Indian will not have a product line to compete with is the CVO Line up, but who know what the 5 and 10 year plan for Indian looks like. They may buy a performance line down the road and compete in the CVO line-up or take a few bikes from the rebadged Victory line with factory upgraded performance parts to compete with the CVO line, who knows, only thing i am positive on it Victory will re-emerge under the Indian name that will create and entirely new product line for Indian. Personally i would be interested in picking up a re-badged victory with the Indian name and add it to my 7 bikes i have now. I would love to see Indian get to 25% market share while HD drops to 25%, this will encourage increased spending in R&D in both Indian and HD and will only end in a win for consumers.
Arson Rides I'm sure there's an octane that can't really be "sold" that Tony could hook you up with. you could do long term R & D torture tests, this is what happens when you do zero maintenance for years on end. Turns out the bike keeps going just like a KLR 650. Or maybe it doesn't, tune in to arsonrides to find out. 👌
Wow very little work had to be done if you can’t afford a Harley get one of these I have been riding an 02 v92 was the 1st bike victory made back in 1998 is been going strong but Polaris bought other Indian brand but will see victory’s in these bikes too guess we will not see victory’s any more but never say never I guess
bosox2029 nothing, life goes on Bro. Lots of new ones still available and tons of used ones that are really cheap to buy. If that's what you want.....just get it and enjoy. Ride safe.
I have a 09 Vegas... I'm 27 now.. been thru a lot of bs bikes.. this bike is hands down my favorite... Fuqqer smokes Harley's all day and my dad couldn't believe it till we lined them up.. his ultra glide is beautiful with its bags and cams lol...but I freaking smoke his dooors all day. I grew up riding arctic cat snowmobiles and clowned on Polaris my whole life.. wouldn't be caught dead on a junk Polaris sled.. but who would of guess years later my birthday gift would be a 09 victory motorcycle with a complete engine R&R by Polaris..but wow man they really killed that engine. I see why that's the only one they used for all chases
