Love Love Love Hands Across the Sea Samplers. I have done 1 by her and got a few that still needs to be kitted up to be done. My mother collects samplers but ironically I never paid attention to them until I started watching Flosstube. Now I want them on my walls. I am currently stitching Maria Finney from Teresa Venette. I joined SG Country Samplers Girls Club to get 4 kits a year, they are fabulous. I purchased several from many designers and am slowly kitting them up. I work on them every night and love every minute. Thanks for the video.

I became attracted to samplers just like you did, by accident. I never thought I would be stitching alphabets or houses and then I saw Lori Holt's Quilters Cottage sampler and fell in love! Who knew I would like stitching houses! I have not started a stash yet, but seeing your parade has made me want to start putting items on my Christmas wish list! I loved this video and I hope you do more chats about samplers. It was very informative.

I love samplers, especially samplers with birds. Hands Across the Sea would have to be my favourite. I love how Nicola searches for information about the little girls and the history behind each sampler. I'm currently working on Harriet Salt 1866 Bristol Sampler. You have a wonderful selection and I'm looking forward to seeing your WIP's.

I have always been in love with samplers. My favorite designers are Scarlet Letter and Hands Across the Sea. I like the reproduction samplers for the history they represent and the variety of stitches used in each sampler. Love this video and the more I learn about samplers, the more I want to stitch them. What a FUN video! Can't wait for the next Sampler special. My first sampler is Modern Folk Embroidery 2020 Family Patchwork Sampler. I'm also doing Long Dog Sampler's Pandemic and Pavane of These Times. Each are different color schemes and fabric counts. I'm LOVING them!

When you do your videos, it's clear that you have certainly enjoyed "re-finding" your love of needlework and they are truly a pleasure to watch! I've stitched the Permin 1790 sampler with that huge swan at the bottom and loved doing it. I'm looking forward to seeing what you have coming up with showing various samplers. Just loved this episode, thanks so much for showing us all the beautiful samplers. I find it fascinating that so many of today’s designers are inspired by antique samplers and create their own. So glad I found your channel. All of a sudden, at the young age of 80, I decided to want to learn how to do samplers and learn the history. I love doing patriotic cross stitching and I believe the samplers will fit in. I am so tired of Christmas right now and bowl fillers etc. I hate trying to figure out how to finish these little things. I am definitely going to check out your recommendations for floss tubers.

I've really been watching Teresa Kogut, as I love the beautiful designs she has created. I love Hands Across the Sea samplers and am absolutely loving Teresa Koguts new samplers. Thanks for your sampler parades, am loving it!!

I love samplers as well and have done over 35. My favorite is the Loara Standish Sampler from the Plymouth Museum. Loara was the daughter of Mikes Standish who came over on the Mayflower. It was done over three on silk and was reversible. The chart was graphed by Joanne Harvey. I was fortunate to go to Plymouth, Mass and learn the reverse stitching technique from Joanne Harvey. I have just gotten back into stitching again after a lone venture into quilting. I hope you enjoy your time stitching the works of the past and marvel at the work created by young girls. I really enjoyed your video and look forward to seeing more samplers because I do not have a store any where near me. I quickly wrote name and designers of the ones that interested me. I am relatively new to cross stitch. My initial reaction to samplers was I love them but couldn’t see myself ever stitching one. I discovered floss tube during the Covid lockdown thanks to a friend. I am now hooked, and thinking of doing a sampler. There are so many wonderful designers that I haven’t narrowed it down yet. I would love to stitch Lucy Calcutta. Today was the first time that I have seen one of your videos and I really enjoyed it. Thank you. I am now liking and subscribing!

I love everything about samplers especially their history! They are each so different from one another. I have been faithfully following Nicola, Brenda and Laura and The Saltbox Stitcher on Flosstube just for their beautiful samplers. I am starting Martha Pugsley Sampler by Scarlett House. What a great video! I saw several that should be here in my collection! The Reflet de Soie and the other French designer were really pretty. Plus loved the Quakers and Hands Across the Sea! I’ve stitched several so far. The coffee Quaker is framed in my kitchen and I have several lurking in my WIPs! Thanks for sharing these and enabling us a little more!

I've loved samplers since 1985 when I first saw antique ones at a National Trust property, I have to resist buying antique ones. I've stitched a few including Quaker, American, British. At the moment I'm stitching Ann Uffindell, I love Hands Across the Sea Samplers they are so beautiful also Scarlet House. Miss Lucy is a lovely one. Thanks for the video, I alway enjoy watching. Not sure I can pick a favorite designer, but off the top of my head: Hands Across the Sea, Beth Twist, Permin of Copenhagen come to mind. Loved seeing the parade of different styles of samplers. Like you, I was never interested in samplers when I first started cross stitching back in the 90's, took a 20 year detour into knitting & quilting, came back to find a whole new world of cross stitch. It was my 2nd project that opened the sampler obsession in 2017. Now that's all I want to stitch with a few small little pinkeeps thrown in the mix. I'm looking forward to the next issue of sampler parade. Happy Stitching

Haven't started it yet, but have A Dog's Declaration. Still need to kit it up. I'm sure I will enjoy stitching it because it reminds me of our dog and his obsession with squirrels. Would love Lucy.

What excellent timing your Flosstube has been. I purchased the pattern and kitted up my first sampler today as a gift to myself for my birthday. I’ve chosen a Hands Across The Sea Little Gem (start small) and the design is Sarah Spencer 1870. I am just busting to start it. Thankyou for sharing some of your collection of patterns. So glad you have found a love for samplers! Thanks for the shout out of Our Sampler Years! Lovely Quakers you have, that Christmas one from Bygone stitches is one of my faves too. The original Ackworth Quaker samplers that are antiques (and their reproductions like Ann Grimshaw), they were from the girls at the Ackworth Quaker school in the UK. The motifs from those are how designers came up with original Quaker style samplers like the ones from Bygone Stitches. There were also samplers stitched by Quakers not from Ackworth that have a different style too. So much history with samplers and that is what I love about them!

I’m pretty new to stitching samplers but some of my favorite designers right now are hands across the sea and the Scarlett house. I love videos like this so many new samplers to go look at thanks!

Thanks for sharing your love of samplers. Unfortunately, I don't "get it" when NEVER will. I can appreciate others' passion and enthusiasm as I have the same passion and enthusiasm for modern patterns; especially abstracts. At the end of the day, we all have a love for cross stitch and that's what is great about this community.

I never thought I would be a sampler stitcher but I am obsessed with Quakers. I think its because when I doodle, it's always in geometric shapes, so that is a comforting theme for me. Plus it's easier to correct a mistake in a symmetrical piece. I'm currently stitching Rosewood Manor's Quaker Diamonds and A Tree By Itself which is Quaker inspired. Lovely video as always.

Thank you so much for the info. I will probably never stitch a sampler ... I only stitch on 14 ct. When I was in college my grandparents celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. I made them a wall hanging that was done in crewel. It had some of the look of a sampler! I also want to offer you a sincere apology. In the video when you were talking about the loss of you daughter-in-law, I said that I understood why the hospital kept visitors out. While I still feel that hospitals are in a tough situation, I have thought a lot about this and feel there has to be a compromise of some kind! Your daughter-in-laws family should not have been kept away from her! If my comments in any way has upset you, I am so sorry! Enjoy every stitch you put in your samplers!

Samplers are my jam. I'm jumping fully into the deep end, I'm kitting up Ann Tong Uffindell and Sarah Braizear right now. You might be able to tell that Nicola with HATS is my favorite designer.

I have The Schoolhouse Quaker sampler, but I haven’t started. I taught elementary school, and thought it was appropriate to stitch that one. I love Lucy!

I'm so glad you are doing sampler videos . The more I see them, the more I like them. My newest favorite samplers are Beth Twist's Consider the Lilies and His Eye Is On the Sparrow. I just ordered them and can't wait to start them. I also like Quaker samplers and really enjoyed the samplers from other countries.

Wow Stacy! I loved this video and your whole idea of showing and teaching about samplers. I melt when I see the Quakers, which are my absolute favorites. But those Reflets de Soie--magnifique!! If I ever learned to stitch well enough on linen, my first Reflets de Soie projects will be Louise Lallier 1901 (for the donkey and the rooster) then G. Leger 1898 (that house and those letters...). Thank you for putting this video together. I will anxiously await your next one!

Going to need the Miss Mary Ann Bournes 1791, beautiful and I love roses. One that I have which you would like is the Nevermore pattern by Lila's Studio. That is what I'm starting next! Great video, I enjoyed seeing all these beauties.

Thank you for the sampler show. About the only samplers that I have stitched have been by Shepherd's Bush so I would have to say that they are my favorite. There are so many new samplers out there now that are really beautiful and look fun to stitch that I would like to go in that direction with my stitching.

I am stitching 'Christmas Garden' by BBD....each motif is like a finish..I am used called for along with DMC equivalent...using both adds interest & depth as the project calls for only 4 colours of thread...would enjoy stitching Miss Lucy....thanks for sharing your love of samplers!

I would love to stitch Lucy. I never liked samplers much years ago when I was cross stitching. Then I started cross stitching again and now I love them. My favorite right now is Teresa Kogut’s samplers.

I've been "eyeing" Lucy Calcutt ever since the reproduction appeared on the scene. One of my favorite designers is Scarlett House. I recently finished The Smith Sampler and love it! Funny how our tastes change. I did samplers back in the 70's and 80's (Yes, I'm showing my age!), then got into counted canvas work, and now back into counted cross stitch since Flosstube is enabling me!

Yay samplers are my favorite. Let me get a pen lol I’ve been doing samplers since the 80s. All my girlfriends were like eww lol. My relatives still talking about the time I spent all day at the A and E staring at the samplers as they sat outside. This was years ago when it was there in one room. The room was small. wonderful as always to 'visit' with you! LOVE LOVE LOVE the parade! SUCH HORROR to be exposed and enabled! HOW DARE YOU!!! ;) LOVE them all! As we were watching, I told Morgan, I should start a new sampler every day in September. She chuckled. I think that was a dare..... ;) not sure........ YES!!! We'd both love to stitch that sampler! I hadn't seen that one before! BeAutiFUL! I think our favorites are anything by Rosewood Manor, but I also love just the fancy alphabet ones with no other motifs, just an intricate border. We were in Vermont a few years ago- (we were there for a few book signings I had lined up and a writer's retreat) and we went up to Shellbourne to the museum there. Incredible display of samplers and stitch works and quilts from MANY years gone by! I recommend it to any history buff, but especially one that appreciates textile arts. Wow! So interesting! My story is very similar to yours. Came back to cross stitch after 25 years and was blown away by the changes! Linen, silk, and the designs are amazing!
