Safe room/bomb shelter! Don't fill it with too much "stuff" or you won't have room for yourselves if you need the space for major storms. Glad you got plumbers who will work with your design but having a short run from "source" to septic is a plus. I guess you have enough vertical drop. Where are you going to daylight the foundation drain?
@This1LifeWeLive
@This1LifeWeLive 4 месяца назад
It's going to need some ventilation for sure . . . even with the full wide open doorway after we covered it in it's VERY stuffy in there. I'm not sure what you are referring to in regards to the drain :)
@brucealvarez9263
@brucealvarez9263 4 месяца назад
@@This1LifeWeLive The foundation drain has to daylight somewhere. Seems like the area is kind of flat so I don't know how far you have to go before you come out below the elevation of the foundation drain. Could it maybe go to the pond? I'm sure you or Erik have that all figured out.

It would just possibly save you from having to pump basement waste upwards, that's all. A new septic would be $$$$ and we are on a budget. Plus our old one we paid extra $$ to be able to use it down the road for this build :) It's not hard to run the pipes under the driveway.

UPut the drainage tile inside the footing. Reason being when it get dry he drainage tile won’t put the water down against the outside of the footing when it gets dry to form a pace away from the wall for the water will follow. We put 4” corrugated field tile on the inside of my brothers new house built in 1988 He has had no water in his base et ith no gutters since 1987 in central Mo.We ha

@ShannonSmith-ss1bd
@ShannonSmith-ss1bd 4 месяца назад
If you put your put your drainage tile inside up against your inner fitting . You don’t need a drainage tile on the outside of the footing. When a drainage tile on the outside of the footing when it gets dry the soil will pull away from th wall and the water will run down the foundation wall. Letting the water seep in the basement. Field tile is cheaper than water in your basement.

@@ruralridez6165 Hmmm the guy at Ridge & Kramer Auto Parts has been selling paint for 40 years. He told me that I can't use water based paint if I don't have an oven. He was the only one who was able to find the mixture for Yamaha racing Yellow.. and it is PPG Brand base coat and clear coat.. Deltron 2000, what ever that is .. I always used Dupont Paint. Vari-Prime two part Epoxy Primer. Imron Urathane .. I found that in Factory Pak pre mixed Colors like John Deere Green Caterpillar Yellow , White and Black ect.. the Price was less than half that of custom mixed Colors. I also used Enamel with Gloss Hardener in it quite often. Dupont does not exist anymore. The Dupont Family started out making Gun Powder.. they owned Remington Arms for a Century or more too. Remington Guns don't offer much of interest anymore at an affordable price. When I was a Kid you could buy good quality Reminton Guns at an affordable Price. Plus Remington sold their Ammo Factory too. I think they are just now abandoning New York State.

Where to start? You have lost a years growth on your Christmas Trees by thinking Geese would eat all the grass. A herd of Cattle would be needed. Mow it immediately and then since you didn't put a protector around the trunks 16" in diameter, they are out of sight with grass. Carefully use a String trimmer so trees do not have to fight for Sun and moisture. There should have been a meeting with all trades to discuss plans and time lines prior to starting. Have one Now with the Framing, Electrical, Roofing, Siding, Insulation, Masonry and Plumbing guys. Put in cable for TV and Phone even if you don't plan on using it. The Concrete Company should not have poured the dregs of leftover cement on the ground without your permission. If that skinny wall is really a Retaining Wall, it is much too thin and should have buttress support. New Concrete is easily drilled with Core Drills meant for the job. Pipe TO Septic Tank(s) should be as short as possible and have accessible clean outs. Accurately Map your weeping bed and keep details with House plans. Was a permeability test done for the Weeping Bed soil? Yes, there are Railing Codes. Dog House/Run etc., should be separate from House. If you are concerned about water in the basement from cracks in walls or other areas, cover the walls with the Dimpled Plastic sheets (Dimples to wall) BEFORE putting in stone and weeping tile (Sock Covered perforated 4" plastic). This should be professionally done. If you plan on a Basement Bathroom, Do it NOW. 3 piece. It will be 3 times cheaper to do it now. Hopefully the remainder of your build will go smoothly. Kidney Stone removal will be a in and out job with Ultrasonic smashing and vacuum. Quick recovery I hope. Good Luck on everything.

I did spray the original group of trees with glyphosate and that worked great to knock everything down around them. However I didn't get a clear window of weather to do the tiny trees so those are buried in grass. However, everyone is doing great, and the trees are actually looking better WITH the tall grass than all the years of mowing. perhaps it's keeping them from getting too hot . . . We don't have cable out here, and they don't plan to run lines due to $$$, so that's not worth doing. We have fiber internet instead. The retaining wall is 10" thick which everyone thought was overkill, but this was professionally engineered by a certified engineer company along with everything else in the house :) Before a house can be started, the soil has to meet certain codes to ensure drainage etc. As shown in the video we do have plumbing installed in the basement :) Also as shown the walls are sprayed with thick black rubber that seals the walls against water ;)
@gordbaker896
@gordbaker896 4 месяца назад
@@This1LifeWeLive I am glad you are happy with the growth of your newer trees. Based on experience when my father planted a couple thousand trees on hillsides etc those that had a cleared area did much better. Ditto recent neighbour experience. The wall I referenced was not 10" thick I don't believe. Likely the wrong one. Wiring the house with at least Cable and outlets may become very handy in the future. The dimpled plastic I referenced goes over the sprayed on Mastic and help protect from water ingress if there is a crack in the foundation/walls, giving a path for water to go down to the weeping tile around the footings. Much to think about. Foam Insulation in Attic? Lots of Roof Vents needed. Wishing you much luck. Tornado fasteners at framing joints?

What are the tax advantages for this configuration. No one builds this way unless that is the goal. I know people that have done this. No one ever wants to talk about it. It is like they want to hide this little tax trick. Something nobody wants to admit. A bit of a gray area in the tax law. In Wisconsin we try it too.

The tax advantage is the less bedrooms and bathrooms and overall SQFT, the lower the taxes. Unfortunately talking to the township ANY NEW BUILD will increase the taxes. Even a small pole building for the tree farm. So we built the house according to what we needed, just 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms
