I played the instruments "live" and presented the performance "WARTS AND ALL", because I wanted to prove that these were indeed the instruments used on the performance! Pretty much zero pre proessing was done, except as explained in the case of the bass (I had to change my original bassline because I played on a 5 string originally, and didn't practice this performance at all - so my attack was a bit inconsistent). The guitar was played twice, once using the BRIDGE pickup and once using the NECK pickup. I believe the neck is on the LEFT of the recording and the bridge is on the RIGHT, and I think the video performance featured is the bridge performance.
I reamped the bass through my 1980 Peavey MARK IV through my '88 Peavey 2x15 with black widows, using a Sennheiser 421MKII. I actually used Guitar Rig for the sounds of the guitar, as I indicated, there were some issues with my recording setup, and I didn't feel like spending all day diagnosing.
