On Tuesday, November 21, 2023, Patrol officers with the Columbus Police Department responded to the 500 block of Claradon Avenue in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered a residence that had been struck several times by gunfire. Two people were inside the home including an elderly man.
The Violent Crimes Unit was called to the scene to take lead on the investigation.
Preliminary findings indicate that the suspects targeted the wrong address. Eight to nine individuals were involved in the shooting based on surveillance footage. Three suspect vehicles were observed entering the neighborhood and leaving together following the shooting.
We urge the public to come forward with any information related to the identities of those responsible for shooting at the occupied residence. A reward is being offered for information leading to the identification of the suspects involved.
