This is all connected to the BU (BTS Universe) and Jin's mission to save his friends. He is constantly going back in time to try and never succeeding completely. This is an overarching story line across all the videos both Korean and Japanese. In this one, Jin is in the present; the members in the past (the rooms are a mirror image) You see the hour glass on the side with Tae (time standing still) ; the hour glass running out of time with JK and the hour glass full with Jin. The members disappear because their time ran out and then Jin disappears in the end because time ran out for him as well. They have pretty much moved to the next timeline and attempt to save the members. The doors could represent the number of times Jin has tried to go back and save them. So much packed into this video. @Dylan Alvarez *One thing you guys might have missed or may be wondering why the last scene is in that red color/hue (**7:55** as Jordan is wondering with that choice of color), I think that has to do with the overall concept of the mv. "FILM OUT" mv is literally about running out of Films in your camera, "running out of film" represents the message of the song of retaining the memories of someone you love as long as it lasts to you. Or in other shorter words:* *as long as there are films = as long as the memories are there* *That red color resembles the color of Photographic film, you know the brownish-red strips* 😌💜

The reason why I suspect it is 2 rooms and done in one shot is that u can clearly see they used a body double for Jin around 3:44 and a little bit further on.... I love this video it just sooo pretty 😍

I totally understand what you guys were saying about the colours in the desert, about it not being up to BTS's usual standard, but this is BTS and their team we're talking about, so there is a reason for everything! The BTS team knows exactly what they're doing, and they wouldn't overlook something like that. As others have mentioned, the events happening in this video are part of the full BTS Universe storyline, which has been going on for years within many of BTS's videos, books, games, as well as their webtoon. It's impossible to explain everything, but in the storyline, members die and Jin tries to save them. That's why they are wearing all white and look washed out or overexposed. They are meant to look different, like they're dead or caught between timelines, hence the doorway. That's also why the desert scenes look strange and distorted.

Film Out is the official soundtrack for the Japanese movie “Signal.” In addition, to being the lead single to their upcoming Japanese album BTS, The Best.

Hi.. The song Film Out song is in Japanese and the OST for the Japanese movie "Signal" which was released a day after the MV. According to Japanese Armys, the movie is an extension of the Japanese drama series about time travel (past and present) in order to solve a crime that happened in the past..... Coincidentally, the concept of the Film Out MV also shows time travel where Jin would like to save his friends but could not. Many ARMYs think that Film Out MV is connected to the storyline of BTS Universe and other previous MVs. The hourglass is the best symbolism of the time travel. The 7 members being together is in one realm while Jin's dark room is another. SUGA and JHope appear to be in different realm as if waiting in a portal..... The lyrics are very deep and covey sorrow, holding on and going back to memories.. it's very interesting... I love the song... Thank you for your reaction and may you be inspired.

This is an OST song for a movie, Signal, which is about a police officer and a police profiler who communicate across time and work together to solve crimes. JK represents the policeman in the past while Jin is the profiler in the present. That's why JK is aware of the hourglass, because he's actually speaking to someone in the future. Only Jin and Tae are aware of the time loop in the BU. Also, Jin isn't really active in the scene in the past in the MV. He stands outside of it, watching. In the BU, it's a time loop, and he's always right in the middle of things. If you've seen the Signal series, like I have, the references to the series are very clear. The movie and the BU aren't related at all.

Nobody dies. The story has progressed. Jin saved them all. This video is kinda in between before jin tells the truth.

I can't get enough of mentioning this para everywhere since to me, it describes JIMIN's vocals in the video very well😂. Now I am excited for the album of BTS where I hope they continue this storyline, I adore them as a group and my inspiration😊

I believe it's a real window. If you check out their "behind the scene" sets for previous mv's, they built them so the cam moves through.

The storyline of bts is that Jin is a time traveler and Jungkook survived getting hit by a car and they made a deal with a cat for Jin to save his friends so in v's part in the beginning there's a hour glass that is laying down so that means time has stopped and when Jin is walking up to the window he's looking I the past and so Jungkook noticed Jin on the other side holding up a full hour glass because for Jin's time reset and when Jungkook looks at his hour glass it's empty because he's time is over that's why they all faded away and Jin's time is going in reverse so the room is getting destroyed when he's running out the door there is a lot more doors and all those doors are all the times he tried to go back in time to save his friends.

@DylanAlvarez In your Fake Love video reaction, you guys had a question as to whether it was planned out. This is just my interpretation but the answer is yes. It was planned out by Bang PD (CEO of BigHits/Hybe). He had 7 young boys to raise through an industry known to destroy artists. Every video, every song BTS members create are part of a larger "learning plan" - learning about growing up from youth to young adults, learning about dealing with challenges, learning about how to deal with fame and luxury. All of it - planned. Bang PD always asked and continues to ask them "What's your message? Write what you're feeling in your songs. How can you and your song going to help others?" And remember the context of Korean society through all of this - it has a real problem with very high rates of teenage suicide. So here's my theory. Part of this Universe storyline in my opinion ties into reality as well. BTS members were young when they started. Bang PD (CEO of Big Hits) gave a couple of speeches at the ASEAN-ROK Culture Innovation Summit in 2019 where he talked about how Live Aid was his "aha" moment when he was a young man and how he built that into raising and grooming BTS. Live Aid showed him how music can influence and affect the human condition, how through music you can raise awareness of the human condition, mobilize people to address the human condition, heal and at the same time, make a profitable product. A win-win - a music business with a conscience. He grabbed hold of that and made it his philosophy. When he went forward to create a boy band, he approached it with that view - a successful talented group whose music and actions could entertain, raise awareness, heal and be successful. The BTS members were for the most part teens when Bang PD formed BTS (except for Jin who is older). The boys lived away from their families, hence Bang PD was their adopted Dad or Uncle. As we all know, teenage years can be tumultuous at best, anything can lead you down the wrong path in life. One thing Bang PD did was incorporate philosophy (hence Greek Mythology and Jung theory in Map of the Soul and other albums) into their music-making experience. These youths needed sensory guidance. Reading books wasn't going to do it. So what better way than to grow them and their talent through storytelling music that had within in it teachings about growing up, making choices, learning to recognize your light and dark side (Ego and Shadow), dealing with choice consequences and how to manage the transition in life from a teen to an adult. Hence, you have the BTS sequence of albums that you have and you have the sensory BTS Universe storyline. Mind you, all of this is also good for business but the main purpose was to help raise these talented youth into adults without them losing their way and in this, they received many blessings: Worldwide ARMY, accolades, the ability to address youth issues at United Nations and Unicef, sold billions of records and won awards. Music business with a conscience. His "Live Aid" was 7 boys and addressing the voice of a generation :) "Love Yourself, Speak Yourself" The phenomenon and significance of BTS as individuals and a collective team is MUCH DEEPER than just their music, dance or video production. I have to say in my opinion, it is because of Bang PD. If he wasn't so moved and affected by Live Aid so many years ago as a young man, would there have been a BTS or this version of a BTS? I don't think so and the proof is - none of the other KPOP mega music companies have been able to replicate what is so unique about BTS. It's not about their looks or talent because if it was just that, they would have been one of many. I really believe it's what Bang PD built into them as people and they as a product: entertain, raise awareness and heal. Even as recent as the other day with the announcement of buying Ithaca Management, what's the purpose? To break down barriers. I hope my 2 cents in views, gives you and others another perspective as to what is so special about BTS

i think this is definitely a part of the bu especially with the fake love parallels, the hour glasses (time traveling), and then the scene with all the doors (to represent all the timelines jin created by going back in time over and over again), and also the two rooms being mirrors of each other at different points in time. in the beginning of the mv, the room is in disarray but then the scene with all 7 of the members (when jin is in the messed up room looking into the one with the members), the room is normal. also i read somewhere that glass breaking is the signal that jin is time traveling which would explain the room exploding in this mv and fake love. oh and in the scene after jk disappears, jin looks at the hourglass and the sand is going in reverse and then the room explodes, which could represent him going back in time again to save the members who just disappeared. then again, bh hasn't officially marked this as part of the bu but there are just so many signs !

Since you talked about the BU, one of the theories is Jin managing to save everyone else, and forgetting to save himself. Anyway.. There are a lot of parallels of Taehyung and Jin, and since Taehyung is conscious/aware about the timeloop through the strange dreams he’s been having in the Save Me webtoon, Tae is aware that Jin was the one who didn’t survive, and so he was trying to save/look for him, hence the parallelisms of the two. Idk just some random thoughts i had.
