Kudos for not getting scammed at those "markets". Generally I only go to the market for fresh food for the day not clothes and such since markets are often time very very dodgy.

I love a good market but I was never going to buy anything at those prices! I usually good mainly for the food too ☺️

Another good one, guys. I'm beginning to remember a few of these dishes from a Vietnamese restaurant I used to go to on the Old Brompton Road in South Kensington back in the '90s...which Google maps tells me is still there over 25 years later. Anyway, glad to see those "claw" machines (in the arcade) are a rip-off wherever you are in the world...

Hello James. Really glad you’re enjoying the videos. Not our best work I think but we’ve got another one coming in the next couple of days. I haven’t eaten a great deal of Vietnamese food in the UK but there are few restaurants in Kingsland Road, Hackney that I’ve eaten at and they were very good! I’ve never been able to resist the claw machines. Normally could have bought a toy the amount I feed into them!

Just go to supermarkets, guys. They sell products with price tags. No bargain. No mind games. No angry looks from the sellers.

We just wanted to explore the market a little! We were having a lovely chat with man selling coffee before we went upstairs ☺️

50k for 2 apples is too expensive . You always have to bargain when you go to a traditional market in Vietnam ( especially you are foreigners ) . If you are too shy to haggle so go to the supermarkets then . The prices there are not always higher and the quality of the goods is for sure much much better . It's also more comfortable to shop in a cool , clean and well organized environment . The staffs there are also friendlier and most of them do speak English . And above all there is no overpricing . Every day there are special sales with even better prices than at the wet markets .

That’s interesting. I really wasn’t sure on the apples. They were HUGE and looked like the Japanese apples that I know can be extremely expensive. I think they were from actually New Zealand and they were definitely imported. I’m not shy to haggle but if I think the price is fair then I wouldn’t try to get it cheaper. On this occasion I wasn’t sure, but I wasn’t going to haggle for such a small purchase and I really wanted apple 😂 I prefer to spend my money with local businesses where possible. The quality of the fruits I saw in the market were far superior to fruits I had seen in the supermarket. Although a supermarket is comfortable, I enjoy new experiences hence why I decided to buy from the local market.

220k and 150k is not expensive my dude and it's regular price, And the 35$ for the dress you push down to 5$? Are you kidding me with that bargain? You have to understand depend on material but it will never get down to 5$ for a dress like that, unrespectfull bargain i have ever seen.

220k is over $8.50 and the t-shirt was terrible quality. I saw t-shirts of similar quality for a much much lower price. The trousers that were $35 was clearly too expensive and I honestly said the most I’d pay is $5. She is entitled to say no but I don’t think it’s disrespectful as you put it. As you can see from the video, I didn’t really ask to buy any of this stuff. Bobby didn’t even ask to try it out, the woman just put it on her.

@@HenryWrideExplores honestly you dont bargain in Vietnam from 35$ down straight to 5$. If you dont buy it just dont buy it, people atm are furious about you rn ngl. She said No and refuse to sell it to you becuz she feel disrespectful as told you

@@tuliotuttut5308i have to disagree with you there. Many times I have been offered items at hugely inflated prices whilst travelling. I was offered fake ray bans for $40 in Vietnam. Turns out they were selling them for closer to $5. Would offering $5 have been a problem on this occasion? It’s not black and white, but $35 was definitely a wild price in my opinion. I appreciate your advice though and I did thoroughly enjoy my time in Vietnam! People are generally kind, friendly and honest and I will return in the near future.
