Showing some prices from catalogs and magazines showing prices of classic games from the 1990s. People want to debate games cost to much now and how much they actually cost years ago #videogames #retro
The most I ever spent on a new game was $99.99 for Phantasy Star IV, that was in '94. Nowadays, I wouldn't spend that much unless it was a Neo-Geo game. And there are very few of those I would shell out big bucks for. Nice video, I love those old mags.
I remember paying I think around $80 for strider on genesis. 60-$70 is still decent money to spend on a new game now. A lot of people don’t realize or expensive they used to be… I forgot about neo geo wasn’t they $200 new at the the time for a game?
@@retroprojections wow! I never knew much about neo geo, I got a Jaguar and 3do at pawn shops pretty cheap when they was still at retail. But unfortunately never got a neo geo… actually don’t think I have saw one in person other than babbages or electronics boutique years back.
@@newnoldgames that was my experience as well. The Babbage's had Neo-Geo stuff hanging out in the back with import games. I almost bought a Gold Set (Console, 2 controllers, 4 games) for $999.95, but I came to my senses just in time! 😵💫😆 I ended up getting a consolized Arcade board Neo-Geo, several years back. It's ironic, they were originally more expensive, but they sold better than the home version, so now the MVS is cheaper, with more abundant games.
