Whoever did not play Observer because of the horror aspect, that was exactly my case: I'm all about Blade Runner, but definitely not a fan of first person survival horror, so I hesitated over picking this one up. I finally did play it, and I gotta say I can't recommend the game enough. The atmosphere is unlike anything I've ever seen in a videogame.
Damn. You included Snatcher. Instant respect. He made another futuristic noir game called Policenauts. There’s an English patch for it and it’s very much in line with Snatcher in terms of feel and layout.
Remember Me from Dontnod games is also a worthy mention of a cyberpunk gameplay. The gameplay wasn't that intricate, but in terms of world building and atmosphere of Neo Paris, they nailed that aspect
Great video! This and your other channel have great potential, I also love your dark sense of humor lol, keep everything up, Ive subbed to both by the way!
To this day, I still cannot understand how Kojima didn't get sued for Snatcher. I guess it flew under the radar due to it originally being released on non-standardised PC operating systems.
Great video! I don't know if you are looking for recommendations, but another good point and click adventure is Technobabylon, also published by Wadjet Eye Games. Glad to find your channel! Cheers!
Syndicate on the Amiga 500 when I played it in the early 90s. Was the first cyberpunk game I had seen an played. The intro still holds up today for 3d graphics. Was gory an brutal for its time.
It's Cyberpunk. The thing you like is cyberpunk. As in the genre of cyberpunk popularized by such authors as William Gibson in his "Burning Chrome" trilogy and Philip K. Dick, author of "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep", the novel that inspired Bladerunner. You should look into Shadowrun and the tabletop RPG that inspired the 2077 videogame created by Mike Pondsmith. He even voiced the DJ for Morrow Rock Radio in the game. I would also add the personal suggestion of "Techwar" by William Shatner. Is it good? No. Did Bill actually write it? No. Was it an absolutely life changing pulp-noir romp through California and into Mexico that introduced me to the amazing idea of your sentient android GF getting repossessed because you didn't pay your bill? Absolutely.
Good video bro. Blade Runner has been my favourite movie ever since i bought the Westwood Blade Runner game which had a free VHS copy of the movie taped to the box, after finishing the game which i absolutely loved i then watched the film and was absolutely mesmorised seeing all these same locations in the most visually and audibly impressive movie i'd ever seen and no film came close to it in the next 20 years until Blade Runner 2049 which is on the same level for me. Cyberpunk is also one of the best games i've ever played. I enjoyed your video about the VR game too, you've got a sub from me, looking forward to more BR or cyberpunk content. Did you play the BR game on Meta Quest? That was really poor unfortunately.
Well, if you don't want to or can't play a game, there's always game movies out there. Playthroughs where people don't ramble into a microphone while playing and cut together to eliminate the pointless padding and just tell the story.
Why do you call it "like" Blade Runner when it's genre is called... Cyberpunk? Oni is cyber/biopunk Shadowrun is fantasy/cyberpunk Ghost in the Shell is post-cyberpunk But it's probably just youtube naming stuff for views... Ps. Read Neuromancer, watch Johnny Mnenomic, play Shadowrun.
