@@ZenithArtSystem Hey, I bought about 2 weeks ago, adhesive film (from your shop in Bonn). I can't get the printed photos without very small bubbles on acryl! Everytime, after printing (using a Canon Pro 100S - flawless print), adding film to photo (flawless), I get very small bubbles on acrylic/plexiglass (visible only if using a led frame - all 4 sides have a led light). I printed already 5 times and everytime I get those small bubbles. I've written in english for others who may have similar issue.
@ZenithArtSystem
@ZenithArtSystem 4 года назад
@@as6488 Without seeing the bubbles I guess you are talking of the really tiny ones, which are called "Silvering Effect". Those may come from the paper you are using to print. Which paper do you use? It needs to be absolutely smooth, like a high-gloss photo paper or our synthetic paper (printable PP-Film). Also the best results will be with extruded acrylic glass (XT). Here the thickness tolerances are normally less than in the GS-Version.

@@ZenithArtSystem Thanks for your reply and sorry for delay. Using XT Evonik 8mm (polished). Paper: A3 & A4 - pro platinum pt-101 (glossy). Printer: canon Pro 100S. Roller laminator (desktop version): 75mm width, cold, 64mm diameter silicon rollers. The issue I have is ONLY during last step: applying the printed photo (film already add) to the acrylic.
@ZenithArtSystem
@ZenithArtSystem 4 года назад
@@stonewolf777 Hmm. This is not so easy. Everything looks correct. Maybe you have not enough pressure? We found that in the last step you really need to apply a lot pf pressure. Or the rolls from your laminator are too soft? Or they are uneven? You can check this, if you put them together so that you only see a tiny gap and then slowly roll them. If the gap opens and closes you have a problem. Or maybe it is too cold in your workplace? Then the adhesive of the film does not "flow" nicely. Is it our adhesive? Where are you based?

Thank you !! We are offering an inkjet-printable Polyproyplene, which we call "Synthetic Paper". Available in Matte and Glossy, plain or self-adhesive. Check our webshop for the sizes and prices. Acrylic prints are made.to look like picture in regular glass frame but without the borders?
@ZenithArtSystem
@ZenithArtSystem 3 года назад
Yes, kind of. You do not need a frame, the picture just hangs on the wall by itself. And with the acrylic it gets a spezial depth and glare, which you do not have with a "standard" framing.

I learned how to mount acrylics from the video and have done about 20 since! The biggest I have done is a 20 x 30 successfully. I am now trying to roll a 30 x 45 inch print but am getting bubbles EVERYWHERE! All over the surface of the photo when I put the double sided adhesive one. Do you know what is going wrong? Thank you!
@DirkBilgen
@DirkBilgen 3 года назад
Well, this is hard to answer without seeing it. Are the bubbles like tiny black or white dots or really big bubles? Size approximately? In which stage do the bubbles appear? It could be the paper? But I gues you have used the same. It could be the pressure of the rollers? Did you change it? The temperature? Is it "normal" room temperature? Also in the night where you store the roll adhesive? Finally maybe the Acrylic itself. Is it XT, i.e. Extruded Acrylic? The cast acrylic has more thickness tolerances so we do not recommend using this type.
@moosec6985
@moosec6985 3 года назад
@@DirkBilgen they are bubbles that are bigger than silvering. About the size of a thumbtack. I was able to mount the photo successfully by using an empty roll to wrap up the liner. This kept the adhesive tight to the roller and I also used less pressure.

Hi thanks for your video! Could you specify what paper you use for the prints? I tried epson premium glossy but still noticed some very small bubbles. Probably that paper is not smooth enough. Thanks for your answer
@DirkBilgen
@DirkBilgen 7 лет назад
Thanks for your comments. We are recommending to print onto our Synthetic Paper. This is Polypropylene instead of normal paper and therefore the surface is absolutely smooth Normally paper has some tiny differences in thickness or some texture. If you put it behind acrylic glass it works like a microscope and therefore you can see small inserts where the paper does not stick to the glass. Here you get black dots... If you want we can send you some samples of the Synthetic Paper. Please check our website or the Webshop... Www.zenith-art-system.de

I tried this on several smaller prints and got small air bubbles on each. The bubbles were always located in the same area, the last inch or so of the laminate to be covered. Perhaps I don't have the roller tight enough?
@ZenithArtSystem
@ZenithArtSystem 7 лет назад
Yes, pressure is one of the possible reasons. Please try again with higher pressure. But also the rollers need to be quite rigid, if they are too soft, pressure will not solve the problem. Further, the type of paper is critical - it needs to be absolutely smooth, best is printable Polypropylene not "real" paper. Also the Acrylic Glass should be of very good quality and the type should be "extruded" not "cast". Some producers have quite high tolerances in thickness, which is a killer also...

Just about the minute mark you say mountable board the white board you have, what kind of board is that, is the surface paper, is it non stick can you suggest what this board is made of and is it available commercially
@ZenithArtSystem
@ZenithArtSystem 8 лет назад
You take a flat board (MDF, DiBond, Forex whatever) and stick a double-sided mounting tape on it (for example our KKD). The protective paper from the Mounting Film is siliconized, i.e. nothing will stick to it. This is the secret - simple but effective ;-) Then we stick another board to this plate which has the same thickness as the acrylic and also cover this with the double-sided film. This is the "step", which you need as the starter...

@ZenithArtSystem
@ZenithArtSystem 3 года назад
There are a lot of possibilities for this. Some of them are: - Not enough pressure - Rolls of the Laminator are too soft - Rolls of the Laminator are not absolutely even - The acrylic has too much variation in thickness - The Double-Sided Mounting Film is not from us :-) - The Media used is not from us :-) - The working space / storage room temperature is too low

Thanks for this great video. Would 250gsm satin paper work well with acrylic or do you only recommend polypropylene paper. It's just that I don't know many printers that print on to polypropylene paper. Also, is there a size limit to acrylic mounting? I'd like to mount 150x30cm panoramic images on to acrylic but I'm concerned that length would make it too 'bendy' or floppy causing the image to come unstuck or the acrylic to break. Thanks in advance!
@ZenithArtSystem
@ZenithArtSystem 6 лет назад
Thanks for your comment. We recommend our Polypropylene Paper because the surface is absolutely smooth. If you are using normal paper (or satin paper) there will be small white or black dots (silvering). This is because the surface of normal paper is not smooth enough. Our PP-Paper is printable with nomal pigment ink printers like Epson, Canon, HP, so there is no problem. We also offer it in self-adhesive! Yes, panoramic pictures tend to bend a lot. You need to add a stroing back plate like DiBond and a hanging frame made from aluminium to support it and hold it straight. Please have look at our webshop for all the above...
