Video history | Block no. 11 and the Wall of Death 

Block 11, known as the Death Block, was primarily the detention center or a prison inside the Auschwitz camp. In the cells located in the basement of block 11 SS placed both men and women prisoners from all parts of the Auschwitz complex that were investigated by the camp Gestapo. They were people suspected of participation in the camp underground or an escape attempt.
