Suits and raft are required for that trip. You wear the suit the entire trip, you will not have time to put it on. I think you can last about 2 minutes in that water without a suit. Glad the wind was low. Great outcome
It's interesting watching the men wave from the life raft, because in scuba diving when you wave your arms like that, it's a sign of distress. Certainly they were just trying to get the attention of the aircraft and they were needing help. Kudos to them for being well prepared.
@@cageordiedistressed as in “immediate danger get me out of the water right now I’m drowning, bleeding out, major injury, fire, etc” Could be wrong but IIRC racing boat drivers who go overboard wave their arms to signal distress - come get me right now, but tap the top of their head to say essentially “I’m okay”.
