I liked DmC just fine. The Vergil in that game was a lot more interesting than the original Vergil whose entire character was basically being a dick until DMC 5.
@@crichton397 Yeah, I’m not gonna lie up until Dmc 5 Vergil was Kind of predictable and boring. Almost to the point where I always been on dante winning more often than I do for Virgil At least in the reboot it’s lot more equal And a lot more interesting
@@diegorosales3393 I think Dmc gets a bad wrap but Vergil honestly is one thing they did better. Even with DMC 5 all of V's character devlopment goes away and Vergil returns to being bland, not caring much about his son, and his only significant change was deciding he didn't have to kill Dante to be better than him. I'm glad somebody isn't in love with pre-DMC 5 Vergil. I never got why people treated him as this amazing character.
@@crichton397 maybe that’s because everyone likes to Vegeta archetype a badass warrior who doesn’t need love or compassion just pure skill and ruthlessness, which isn’t really much of a character as it fits more into a stereotype
I agree with you guys about DmC Vergil being a lot deeper than we first thought(and it's definitely more interesting than DmC Dante's character, that's for). But you guys are not giving enough credit to original Vergil's character and his lust for power as means to control over his destiny.
I wonder if you'll do a remake between DMC 3 Vergil vs Raven as there is so much wrong in that original video that it would be nice to see your changed viewpoints of both combatants
This was pretty great in research and since Maiden characters are far above the standard characters of the RWBY verse, Cinder being overall in the City level ranges is possible for me compared to a single, standard RWBY character being most consistently Building to Multi-Building level in my eyes (mainly due to how inconsistent the scale of the characters can be in hierarchy and other forms of writing in the series). Reboot Vergil was also a surprise in how powerful he was, but there are two things I want to bring about Cinder as a combatant that I think would give this Vergil a potential advantage as a fighter and something else for his physical scaling. First off, when you mentioned that Cinder noted down Penny's priorities in 10 minutes of knowing the now flesh and bone girl, you are a bit wrong. Remember, the Maiden gained access to the blueprints of Penny's original body during Volume 3 and likely read over the whole thing for her plan, watched Penny fight against Pyrrha in the tournament, fought her and Winter and then faced off against Maiden Penny twice in Volume 8 while learning of her morals all the time in each scenario, so Cinder certainly knew quite a bit about Penny's capabilities and personality before going for the tactic she did in Volume 8, while Vergil was leading a whole organisation to fight Mundus on his own at a young age (going off of my memory, as it has been a while since I saw anything involving DmC) and could outsmart his brother in a fight at different points, who had bested Demons that were dedicated warriors with a lot of combat experience in skill casually. The 2nd is Cinder's blood lusted and power hungry nature, and while you are correct that she'll be going in calm here and it doesn't detract from her overall threat level in this scenario like it would in her own verse, I'm sure that it will be something that Vergil will recognise and exploit when he cuts off her Grimm arm and would remember that the arm was unprotected compared to the rest of her body, even if he doesn't know why. The last thing I want to bring up is that while Vergil was fighting Mundus, from what I can remember of the game, he was essentially restrained and turned into a punching bag for Demon King within that Core, and he was casually damaging city blocks before entering his more serious state against the children of Sparda. So overall, factoring in that Reboot Vergil will have a bit more durability, his abilities/hax advantage, comparable level of skill and (in my opinion) slightly superior IQ and BIQ, I see him taking the win at Extreme difficulty, though a single mistake can easily lead to the new Demon King loosing his life against Cinder.
Thank you, I always enjoy discussing the results with you even if we disagree on things. Although this time I think you are misremembering a few points. In fairness that's probably because it's been a minute like you said. As for the Penny point I have to disagree, in volume 3 Cinder only cared about Penny as a pawn to be killed by Pyrrha and in character wouldn't have given her any thought beyond that so I see little to no reason why Cinder would care about Penny's personality let alone take the time to learn it at that point, and I see a clear difference between knowing what capabilities a person has and knowing how they will use them mid combat. Not to mention the Penny in Volume 7-8 is far more experienced and wouldn't be exactly the same fighter as she was being tested in the tournament. Although I'd say this one is more up to interpretation. As for Vergil outsmarting Dante that flat out didn't happen, he got the drop on him with his teleportation once but that's about it. You're probably thinking of Hollow Dante who Vergil repeatedly outsmarted with his abilities and managed to corner but there's no reason to believe that the demon was as skilled or smart as the real version. As for Vergil's durability being higher I once again disagree. Mainly because Mundus's core isn't as powerful as the main body Dante fought, Vergil explains in the boss fight that mundus fully merged with his human body and had to protect it with the titan form as it wasn't as strong or durable as his actual power. and lastly Mundus taking out multiple city blocks wasn't a casual feat, it is explicitly stated to have drained both him and the hell gate and is why Dante and Vergil struck when they did. I certainly agree it would be a close fight but my money is still on Cinder.
@@rane932 Honestly, debating with you is fun for me as well, especially since your one of the people I know I can disagree with in scaling characters without being attacked or childishly insulted like I have seen other have in the past. Also, thanks for providing a bit more context for me, but I still stand by my points on Cinder's analytical ability completely. While Penny would indeed be a simple pawn for her in Volume 3, she wanted to cause as much chaos as possible to lure in the Grimm, and so learning about the machine through her blueprints and possible notes on her development in personality seems logical for me (which she likely had since she got this information through Ironwood's Scroll), especially if Penny's capabilities or potential ruthlessness in a fight could quickly stop the possibility of Phyrra's Semblance playing a factor (which could be possible for all Cinder knew if she didn't look through Penny's Blueprints and notes). As for her direct fights with Penny, she has directly seen the android go out of her way to protect others like Winter and Maria in a fight (or at least she likely heard the 2nd instance), so while using Penny's personality to her advantage is commendable still, I do still think you made it sound more impressive than it was, but only by a bit. The BIQ one I can give you though since I did indeed confuse the two Dante's from my memory of that game, but being able to pressure Dante at all in skill (like I believed was implied near the end of the original storyline) is still noteworthy like you mentioned in the video. I still think that Vergil's durability is a bit better still, but thanks to the context you provided once again, it is now due to him taking a beating from Mundus, immediately helping Dante a bit against the giant body when he escaped before then fighting his brother practically right after. His regeneration likely helped, but these factors still make me think he can tank a bit more damage in the City level tier (though, only about 10 to 15% more than presented in the video).
N (Murder Drones) no Eldridge Absolute Solver form vs Penny (RWBY) no Maiden power’s this is a fight I’m so interested in that I did my own research problem is I’m bad at research and I can’t decide a definitive winner
This was awesome Spoilers I am surprised in the special abilities part I kinda thought Vergil would take it I knew the yamato would be weird weapon to examine but I still thought it would still bypass aura but the more you explain it I understood why he lost in weapons but I do still think it would be a close category even with the yamato in version not being nearly as powerful as the original yamato but apart from me thinking that the weapon category would be closer I do agree with everything else
Awesome this serious take should be fun Cinder is not that bad and i love Virgils Design lets GOOOOO. Suggestion for a Future Match up. AZULA VS KUVIRA. My two fav Avatar Villains going at it. Respect and keep up the epic work.
another chance for Virgin from DmC Devil May Cry to shine. Question, would you ever consider putting Mortal Kombat characters in any of your versus videos? Just curious, love your stuff.
26:02 Yamato does have one advantage over cinders weapons reliability. Cinders weapons are made of glass and have been shown to constantly break in prolonged fights requiring her to make new ones which would leave her open against an opponent capable of exploiting it.
0.49 highlights something the showrunners hadn't thought of. You can't just adapt old fairytales to modern settings. They don't work. Times are different. You have to understand what it is for something to work in adaptation and change it if you have to. Also it made me giggle. And admire the research. But seriously, you have come on so much in the last few years. It's good to see. 24mins I always assumed the throwing knives were Vergil's summoned swords? I mean they've been shown to summon their actual swords so why not fully formed knives? I also just wanted to say something vaguely intelligent for the algorithm.
I don't think 0:49 highlighted that at all. Why are you trying to say the showrunners didn't "think of how you can't adapt old fairytales to modern settings?" The whole point of adapting Cinderella is because that's what Cinder was inspired by, and the tragic turn of her backstory is what made her a villain. If anything that means the showrunners put a modern twist on an old fairytale.
what a aboslute good video but i have a few qustions and statements. 1) what type of vergil ur using because it depends on witch vergil. Talk about dmc 5 vergil then it can be a different story with his sin devil trigger on the line. 2) i have no idea who is Cinder is because i havn't read or watch the anime so ty for the info.
