Digimon is the kind of show where a worm can turn into a tank and then turn into a hot lady with no explanation.

I still prefer Digimon over Pokemon because it changing the cast every Season or 2 allows for better growth and development of the characters, and having the Digimon talk allows them to be more the just pets to the Digidestined.

3:41 well it depends on the media but normally is basically whenever a digimon meets the requirements for an evolution, it will evolve to the evolution over time, thought it all depends on many factors like data absorbed, feelings, necesity, time, etc etc Thought usually in the animes it is mostly related to a process of grow and development of the characters (as the feelings of both the human and the digimon influence the evolution, usually those also reflect the evolution and can trigger it) and moments of need to protect their partners :b

Comparing it to Pokemon is not quite accurate. Pokemon is a monster capturing RPG and the anime directly adapts from that. Digimon was originally a virtual pet, literally it was envisioned as a Tamagotchi for boys that substituted the cute creatures with cool and dnagerous ones that you can train and battle with your friends. Hence, the branching evolution paths and forms that don't always make sense from one to another. The Digimon games let you really go wild with evolution choices and what you get depends on a number of factors including stat thresholds, days lived, how many times they were reborn, how many battles they fought, how many wins or losses, whether or not you clean their poop, how much they like you, etc. Basically, what form they evolve to depends on how well you raise them and what build you raise them towards. They grow from baby to child to adult and eventually die and are reborn. Beyond adult is the Perfect level and then the anime introduced the Ultimate level above that. The anime does things a little differently, and there's an in-show explanation for it. Basically, the characters each have their own Digimon partners whose evolution paths were preprogrammed into Digivices that each child carries in order to aid the children on their quest. When the child's bond with their Digimon is strong, the Digimon can evolve at will and revert back to their Child form when battle is over or they've run out of energy. Other things to note is MetalGreymon looks similar to Greymon but is actually way bigger. Most of the Ultimate forms in the video are gargantuan compared to their Adult forms. And MetalGreymon is "metal" insofar as he's become a cyborg dinosaur. As for the two angels, Patamon and Tailmon are both holy type Digimon so that's why they evolve into angels. Tailmon also evolves from Plotmon, which is a dog. A dog turning into a cat may not make a whole lot of sense but it's really more that that Digimon line is a holy beast line. So she evolved from a beast to a holy beast to a holy angel. And you correctly guessed that Omegamon comes from a movie. In that case, the evolution occurred because of the bond with the human partners, the bond between each other, and the goodwill and hopes of all those people who were watching the battle and sending messages of support.

skull greymon and metal greymon are both evolution of main character partner. the difference is one is the real and correct one, and the other is being forced, and conseguently sort of corrupted evolution. Also, I don't know if you noticed, but the leader'and his friend/rival's digimon are the only ones made in 3D.

two main way for digimon to digivolve is battle and friendship with there tamer/digidestined partner.

Digimon are essentially living packets of data. The more data they accumulate, the stronger they become, which leads to digi evolution. Normally, this takes a long time, but a human partner can initiate temporary evolutions by substituting the required data with emotional energy. On a related note, Skullgreymon is an example of a dark evolution, which are feral, monstrous forms brought about by negative emotions/abuse from the Digimon's partner.

Digimon evolution depends on what data they absorb,their environment,their experiences with the ones around them and their environment, human feelings,emotions, belief systems, emotional states and most importantly human spiritual development. Digimon are higher dimensional beings coming from levels of reality that transcend the human world. As a matter of fact the Human multiverse was created by a god named Demiurge who unconsciously used Idea the primordial Digital World, a chaotic world where primordial souls and concepts without any established laws existed as basis. But since Demiurge used chaotic matter as basis the Human World came out as nothing more than a shadow, an imperfect copy of a higher reality (the Digital World). Digimon are the other half of their partners soul more specifically their other selves. The cosmology and the nature of the soul in Digimon is based on Neoplatonic Emanationism. with higher levels of existence transcending lower levels of existence the philosophy of Plato stressing especially that actual things are copies of transcendent ideas and that these ideas are the objects of true knowledge apprehended by reminiscence. The DW is the perfect world of forms and ideas. Digimon were not created by humans but existed since the most ancient of times as yokai,shikigami,demons,spirits that were summoned through magic or sorcery or were subjugated as shikigami through onmyodo. Digimon are called Digimon because they can be recognized by modern digital gadgets,but in the past they were recognized as yokai or shikigami, and the way they were seen changed with the times recognized by people as ethereal beings, but that have become tangible and visible through digital means, and that people define as "that kind of thing" so that they can understand them with their current knowledge. Digimon evolution is a mirror into the evolution of the heart and soul of their human partner.

is not actual an evolution , it is more that a morphosis or transformation. And many times their evolutioks doesnt make sense they are not real animals or beings. Patamon evolves into angemon cause Takeru(TK) is a chosen kid who has the crest of hope which is kinda sacred. This patamom is kinda special and maybe no other Patamon can transform into an Angemon

You should definitely watch the very first digimon movie. It's complete on its own and you don't have to watch any more.

Personally for the last one omnimon/omegamon digivolution I like the english version from the digimon movie, as the music was more upbeat than the holy miracle music from the our war game movie.
