This week I'm talking about my childhood - when I realised I wanted to be a girl, what made me realise and the signs that told me something wasn't quite right :)

I too grew up in a male dominated household. Pre-internet, Pre-cell phone. But like you I found out at 5 years of age that my predisposition to girl-things when I saw them was startling, (for the girls). Not so mush the Barbie things, I knew that was out, but the small plastic kitchens! Oh boy! What fun I could have! But..... It was kindergarten that pushed the - follow the boy path please - of finding out I could be excluded if I didn't follow suit. Being mid 1970's that was the mainstream. But with some friends I had on my street at the time, some of the happiest memories are the cooking and living room play. "Lift your feet Please!" Varoom! Great Video. Take Care. One question, When are you going to France next?

I probably should have placed this in one of your Q & A videos, but owing to you asking for ideas in this one, I'll suggest it here. I hope it's OK. You seem to have kept your circle of friends and it appears they have been accepting of your transition from Charlie into Charlie. I think it would be interesting if you could have two or three mates join you in a video to discuss your changes and how they have come to accept Charlie reborn. I'm not sure what would work best, whether to have them on one at a time or as a group. I can see advantages either way. If I had a vote, then I'd vote for the group dialogue. For others considering transitioning, I think this would be helpful encouragement on how to handle transitioning, and more importantly, how little relationships have to change. My other suggestion is to do it both ways.

HI George, thanks that would definitely make a good video - it might take a little organising but I'll try t do it at some point. Just so busy as racing season starts soon and there is so much to do, this is my biggest year by far so I have to give it everything :)

My therapist told me he wished he had £1 for every time he had heard how happy his clients were in childhood when they had been mistaken as the opposite gender . He told me this when I told the same thing of been mistaken on holiday and how good I felt . I have read Caroline Cossey's book (Tula ) defiantly recommend to all transgender girls and for any friends trying to get to grips with the whole consent . My dad thinks Caroline Cossey is a beautiful woman and was surprised to find out her past . Thanks for another fab post 😀

I can totally relate to your feelings. Caroline Cossey also helped turn my life a bit upside down. I never could have imagined how much better my life would be after transitioning...

Thanks so much for the amazing video, your reply and sharing your experiences. So very much appreciated, Can't wait for your "Looking back now it all makes sense video". For me looking back the clues were all over the place, but I either buried them, did not understand them, tried to ignore them or simply just did not join the dots. When I did though, oh wow was it a bolt of lightening..

Excellent chat, Thankyou for sharing. I story is pretty much the same, but had no brothers or sisters, so I would spend time with cousins , but coming to think of it now, I used to hang around my mothers best friend's daughter. I can remember her earrings she used to wear, they were made from a fine gold chain, and at both end there was a straight pin, like the part of a stud, the two end would dangle. Anyways enough of that.... Hey, I have a Question: how long into transition and on HRT, did you go full time ? Cheers BRIE 💙💛💖

Hello Christina.I love the word ,duality.It's one I use a lot to discribe my thoughts with respect to my dysphoria,we really do lead double lives,one the world sees, and the others hidden inside safe until the day it is no longer capable for us to contain. You are looking good and sound as if your happy.Have you found a partner yet,have any boy's taken you out yet. Maybe you can show us nice views near where you live,maybe talk and drive with your go-pro on.Anyway until your next vid keep safe. Emily.

That’s funny, I thought the same way. I liked the female heroines and didn’t really care to much about the male ones. I liked the girls because the boys always said they were weak and I knew we were weren’t!

Christina, When you were married did you take occasion to dress as a woman? If so, did your wife know and was she ever supportive of it? What brought the divorce to a head? Dressing while married or your expressed desire to do so and then transform? Did you try to convince her to stay with you? Thanks, Bill

Hi Bill, sorry but that's one subject I don't really want to talk about out of respect to my ex... I can understand it must be intriguing for people but I made some rules for myself when I started on here and one was to not really talk about the break up and how it all happened. Obviously my need to transition is what caused it, so it;s maybe best left at that :/
@sharpsvilleBill
@sharpsvilleBill 9 лет назад
Oh, no problem. I totally understand. I am very curious but so far from the circumstances that I didn't consider that aspect. I apologize if I offended you or the ex. I'll try to be more sensitive and diplomatic with future queries. All my best!
@GoCharlie
@GoCharlie 9 лет назад
That's ok, no offence taken :) after all I am asking people to ask me questions :p We've stayed friends which is really cool, so I would hate her to think that I divulged stuff like that on here.

a Girl for all seasons I was curious about if you had stayed friends with your ex, it's lovely to hear. My partner is in the early stages of transition and we love each other dearly though we know it will ultimately end our relationship. We know we will be close friends for the rest of our lives though and it's actually very comforting knowing I will still have them there for me rather than losing them due to a messy breakup. Relationships ending due to circumstances rather than falling out of love are the hardest.

I don’t know if you have any older photos, but how about a progression of hair lengths to show over the years how long your hair has gotten.

I really enjoy watching your video. I was wondering what about face and body products? What REALLY helps ward off wrinkles, lines, and dark spots? And how does one go about finding something that works for her own self without spending a fortune? How does one go about finding that miracle cream that helps smooth out her skin without having to buy 20 bottles that do nothing? Any thoughts? Thanks :)

Charlie, I hope you take a moment to look at this comment. Transgender people in Thailand are far from accepted. They are very much marginalized and a good number of of them cannot get jobs, are shunned by their families, and as a result, work in entertainment as dancers or the like, or as sex workers. If you're interested in knowing more, let me know. Anyway, I do love this video. The first time I saw it, it felt like I was watching a video about my own life. We share so much in common, in terms of our thought processes in how we knew we were trans. Take care :-)

I wanted to ask a question, along the lines that SharpsvilleBill asked, but was a bit worried that it would be too nosey and personal. I hope that it isn't, if it is then I apologise in advance, sorry.

Would you please continue speaking about your journey to becoming a woman? At some point you must have told your parents. How did they react to the news? How did your dad react? How did your mom react? Brothers? After telling them, what kind of questions did they have for you? Did they try to belittle you or make you feel ashamed of your feelings? How did they come to the point of accepting your decision and helping you achieve your dream? Were your parents afraid of what the neighbors and their friends would think of them? Of you? Do you have an email address that you would be willing to share? It's hard to explain the reasons for the questions here in a limited space and with others watching. I'm afraid of ridicule.

michael jagger Well it's made it all the more rewarding I guess, sure it was hard having to go through so much of my life feeling 'wrong' but then I've done so many cool things and been to amazing places so I don't feel it was a waste. It makes life now feel even better and I don't really have any regrets (as such), transition has been a fun process for me :) sure it's hard work and not always easy, but I've enjoyed it - it's an incredible experience that few people on this planet will ever know and you get to see things from all perspectives unlike those who live their life in just one gender. I feel lucky in many ways to be able to have done it - I'm a glass half full kind of girl! ;D
