Thank you everyone for watching my videos and supporting me. As you've noticed (and some have pointed out), there has been a bit of a lull in Transformers reviews. I appreciate it when you still watch the reviews that i do produce. As i've said since day one, almost 8 years ago, Transformers will always be my focus. However, i will do reviews of other things that i am interested in and i feel a majority of my viewers are also interested in. Telling me to "get back to transformers reviews", unfortunately doesn't help things though. The fact is, there aren't a lot of Transformers out right now. I do not watch the RID series and won't be buying a large portion of those figures. I simply don't have much of an interest in them and don't feel like investing my money in figures that ultimately will just end up in a box in my storage unit. As others have mentioned, what about 3rd party figures? Many of you know that i am very particular about what 3rd party figures i get. I don't get less of those because of some "black list", that i'm perceived to be on. It's possible that several companies choose not to send out samples to me while they send out a ton to other people. I am far more honest with my reviews of products and some 3rd party companies don't like that. It ultimately hurts their sales if reviews come out of a product being bad. If companies make high quality stuff, they obviously are safe with my reviews, such as Fans Toys and even now Bad Cube. There aren't a lot of figures though from the 3rd party world that i'm particularly interested in, so i don't buy them. As i've talked about previously in several vlogs, i buy the overwhelming majority of my figures. I don't get them given to me on a regular basis. Even companies that i do work with, a lot of those (such as Sideshow Collectibles), i still buy my figures from. I accept discounts for the work i do, such as 10%-20% off the retail price. I feel that is a fair amount off for the work that i do. It allows me to maintain my integrity and keep my reviews honest. But i will always have a focus on Transformers. I know that's what you guys want and i know it's why a lot of you watch me. But producing 3 videos a week, roughly 156 videos a year....the numbers just add up. There aren't that many new transformers coming out....so i have to supplement my channel with other things that i also like. Such as Hot Toys figures, TMNT figures, and other things i think are pretty cool. As i said, your support is always appreciated regardless. And i thank you for your understanding!
***** Totally agree, there isn't a lot of TF stuff out at the moment and the new RID line and the series does not interest me either - more for my kids! If you're looking for new stuff to dip into - including transformers - then can I suggest taking a look at Herocross? I have some stop motions on my channel and emgo316 has reviewed some of their figures as well. Is super deformed your thing? Keep up the awesome work with your channel!
2:18 If you find that the effect parts make it seem more like a toy, then you should really revaluate it again. Because most figures that are for collectors have effect parts. Toys that are meant for kids don't come with effect parts due to budget cost and mostly safety reasons. Hasbro crappy Marvel Legends are mostly aimed for kids but come with effect parts time to time, but not as detailed or function purposes like in this case. Effect parts are meant to recreate scenes, iconic scenes, or amplify the look and pose of the figure, do you really think a kid would understand all that? No, right? Thus as you said, you wouldn't give that to a kid to play with. But most figures that are for collectors do come with effect parts accessories.
This suit made me think of a spin on a conversation from Avengers 1: Cap: Take off the armor (it's suit, but never mind), and what are you? Stark: All this stuff. That's what is under the armor.
Definitely agree 3:00, this is to be appreciated by looking, not playing. This collectible looks to good to just give it to a kid. I would have to get 2 though. To show off the figure as a hole and in separate pieces.
Figure looks great but not feeling the split gimmick I think it makes it look cheap and I'm yet to see it look posed great on the split stand. That being said I'm still going to get it but display it in one piece. Great review by the way 👍
Thanks for all your HT reviews, when possible, which is like practically always, I make them part of my buying decisions (which hopefully Sideshow & HT appreciates that because your reviews got me to buy at least 7 armors I otherwise had no plans to buy). And reinforced that rest that I did plan to buy. Thanks, and thanks and keep them coming
just picked this one up recently, i noticed that the LEDs in the eyes are so much brighter then on my mark 43, i wouldn't mind if they gave us a helmet that the mask couldn't lift off for all ironman figures, and one other with the tony stark head sculpt inside, i just think they light up better that way
I just picked this up and am having a difficult time moving the knee joint. I'm afraid I'm going to break something. I also noticed on the back of the legs, behind the knee, there is a small plate that pushes in. Does this have something to do with adjusting the leg? Thanks.
Hey Paul, I don't think from the way this suit is designed that it could actually be "equipped" (for lack of a better word) the way the Mark 42 could. As in, Tony might have been able to wear the suit, but he couldn't speedily put it on the way he could with the Mark 42. Just a little side note :P
I have been eyeing this Hot Toys figure for a while now. I finally saw it on display this week at Frank and Son's collectibles show. Wow it looks even cooler in person! On a whim I checked out some online prices and was able to score one still sealed in Hot Toys shipping box for $202, shipped. For that price I could not pass on this unique armor suit. Thanks for the detailed review, it helped me make my final decision to get this figure. oh BTW the way, I don't collect transformers and just watch your channel for your Hot Toys and other 1/6 figures reviews.
go to your local grocery store and look in the eye glass section buy a cheap little eye glass repair kit... the screwdriver that comes with it should work fine for those arm screws... probably under 5 bucks
That compliment aside, once I again I think all the suits/armors should've gotten the paint/mold and detail treatment on the foot repulsars/thrusters that Bones and Mark II unleashed got...
Have you seen Newest Trailer of Transformers The Last Knight that Bumblebee bodies separated and can detached again? That idea came based from this Mark 41 (Sorry for grammar)
I think that Hot Toys are making more 'toy like' features because there ARE some kids who do play with these figures. Or, they're just there to gives better display options for those who like a crazy display.
Nemesis Prime I really have no clue what parents would give their kids 200+ figures to play with. These are fragile and not meant for kids. So i doubt that Hot Toys is making these with those effects to give to kids
I have this figure and it has the best light up feature i've seen on hot toys Iron Man figures..eyes dont look cross eyed and arc reactor illuminates fully where as the other figures you can notice the lightbulb blinding you..i wish they did all IM figures with this type of lighting. Any other IM like this with lights?
Hi optibotimus I have a real problem with deciding what hot toys should I buy, I mean that I hace two options: #1. Buying the Hot toys roadblock 1/6 scale collectible and the Hot toys tony stark mechanic 1/6 scale collectible, both of them for $370; and #2. Buying the new Hot toys avengers age of ultron Hulk deluxe set for $375, in your professional opinion, what should I buy? Please and thank u for reading this comment.
This looks like it could have been called "Steampunk Ironman" with the colors and design. I agree about not being many TF'S out now. The shelves are sad at Walmart and Target. Also a lot of the stuff seems to be a lot of re-paint or mild re-tooling especially for 2016 and I hate most G2 re-coloring of figures. I'm also hating the new legends size. It's too close to the old scout size. The old legends made for great play figures for the Titan Metroplex. That could be a idea for reviews.
Marvin Lee A lot of retooling and re coloring in the combiner wars line and I hate it. Rodimus looks terrible and don't get me started on Prowl. The only 2016 figure I'm looking forward to is Victorion.
+Dylan Carter No. They don't carry high end collectible toys. The only exception is them carrying Masterpiece Transformers every so often. That's where I bought two of my seekers and paid about less than $25.00 for them when they went on clearance.
bro let me be honest I love action figures (that's what I call them) and I'm like 13 and I make sure they are super carefully handled toys can be thrown at a wall and be fine action figures should not even be in the hands of someone who wants to throw it at the wall
TF ideas for the fans while things are slow. Have your fans do a vote for their favorite classics Deluxe, Scout, Legends, Voyager scale figure. The criteria would be: Robot mode Alt mode Ease of Transformation (Playability) This could be the Optibotimus TF version of American Idol. Just give people about a week to vote. People could submit their favorite 3 or one from each class or one Autobot and One Decepticon from each class. It could be open to authentic Hasbro/Takara or include 3rd parties. This could be really fun, a fresh idea while things are slow and will probably create a LOT of comments. On the flip side you could do the worst of these figures. As far a Deluxe goes I can name the very crappy Deluxe Windblade, Prowl, Bluestreak, Smokescreen trio and the worst of the worst Deluxe Galvatron. What do you think?
Brendan Yim I've played video games, but i don't play them enough to make a video game channel. I play Nintendo games occasionally cause that's what i like. I still only have an xbox 360.
The display stand just doesn't feel right. Can't see it flying around freely with those black armatures making it look like the other other armor pieces are still attached to the body.
Woah woah woah. Not as quick as the mark 40?!?! Don’t you mean not as fast??? Being quick and fast are two different things. It’s very quick in terms of acceleration, but being fast is in terms of the long run. For example, you can have a quick car go from 0-60 in two seconds, but have a top speed of 100 mph. Then you have a car that goes 0-60 in 45 seconds, but have a top speed of 300mph.
