its pretty annoying when people act like it's the railroad's fault for not adding a gate on both sides of the street as if its not common knowledge that you shouldnt be going around the gates or even drive on the other side
Everyone is in a rush down there, nobody allows you to pass, even with a turn signal these people a vicious. There in so much anger with these drivers, most are very mad and just want to get to their destination. They are Angry, nobody is allowed to get in front of them. They are Angry and they will push their way in front of anyone trying to get in front of them.
They say FL is one of the top states for car-train collisions. They're just going to have to do away with grade crossings and make drivers go a mile or so to a bridge or tunnel. The busybodies said they didn't want to hear train horns, so in some sections they don't blow, not that that would influence people who drive around gates onto the wrong side of the street.
@@GH-oi2jf Not very efficient. Just saw a video about a dad who got killed, and one with them testing the Brightline at over 100 MPH. They had to have officers with flags at every grade crossing to place their bodies there so people wouldn't go around the gates. Since my post I saw those anti-terror truck stoppers that pop up out of the ground. If they're not going to eliminate grade crossings, they need those as well as making every grade crossing a one-way street to prevent going around the gate.
Or just implement British safety standards - barriers all across the road, fence the entire railway, and stop the train if the crossing is blocked. And make the barrier strong enough to stop a car, prototypes of such barriers been demonstrated.
Stop blaming the railroad and Brightline for bad drivers. This is proof that Florida drivers are the issue, not the railway. Hope Brightline sues the families to pay for the damage.
I was down in Fort Worth, TX yesterday and tried out their local commuter rail service. They have it figured out over there. They have crossing guards on both sides of the road on each side of the track. When the guards go down, they provide 100% blockage across the road. No more having morons go around the barriers. Of course you cannot fix absolute stupid when people stop on the tracks, but it will at least eliminate a majority of Darwin Award nominees.
They usually don't do that in case someone's on the tracks when the gates go down. What they need is to remove grade crossings as much as possible. Then make the crossings a one way street only, so people don't go around the gates, and finally have those anti-truck devices that pop up out of the ground to stop someone breaking through the gate-arm.
If they stop on the tracks, the solution is to stop the train. This requires an obstacle detection system (LIDAR, CCTV or staff on site) and sufficient time between barriers down and train arrival.
Christian told a lie !!! The gate is on the lane of traffic !! If you go on the opposite side meaning oncoming lane of traffic there is no gate cause your on the other side !!! Driver fault !!
Good for them. Their always being to damn fast in tail pipe. Slow yall butt down DAMN. Everyday that's all I see, cutting people off, going from one lane crossing 3 lanes without looking just to make the exit than come to a complete stop at a light, What you stopping for Fool, Run the light to is what I be saying.
Brightline is what 3 years old? And in one full year I heard 8 plus stories about drivers running through tracks and getting hit by brightline. No wonder 1/3 of miami is driving with NVDL, DWS, or EDL. And to those that don't know that means no valid driver's license, driving with suspension, and expired drivers license
Actually, the first train was demonstrated in Hoboken, New Jersey 1826 and the first automobile in the USA was the Duryea Motor Wagon Company of Springfield, Massachusetts, founded by the Duryea brothers in 1895. Shortly there after cars found their way in the path of trains.
Disturbing, or satisfying crunch? Exact condition? Extremely stupid I would venture to say. Where is your concern for the actual victims? That would be the train driver and passengers who’s safety was put at risk by this selfish person.
This is clearly the trains fault for not stopping before the collision. I hope the person sues the railroad and the train crew for not stopping before they hit the car.
I would like to know why this high speed railway has level road crossings and not under/overpasses or raised track to prevent stuff like this. Driver are stupid, especially Florida drivers. A high speed train can be derailed if it hits the wrong vehicle.
And that why you don’t drive around the barriers. Spanish because more than likely they don’t speak the language, Por eso no se pasa por el lado al brazo Mecanico de las vías de tren”. 🤷🏽
Why can't they just put extenders on the gates or install longer gates so that people CANT go around the them? The short gates are how this keeps happening. 🙄
I see people all the time in Ft Lauderdale try to beat the gates whether it's Bright line or drawbridge. Stupid is a stupid does. Waiting 3 minutes keeps you and your car intact but people want to be The Blues Brothers because they don't like it. You want to end up like Joliet Jake (dead) just keep it up.
If I were the driver of the car, I'd sue Brightline or/and the tracker owner for not having the gate completely blocking the full width of the road on both sides. Given the speed of the train, Brightline and/or the tracker owner neglected to provide proper barrier to completely block the traffic. The government is also responsible for issuing the license/permit to allow Brightline to run on this track under the current condition. Their mentality remained as in the old day when this track was only for low speed freight train. For those of you who don't agree, just check out the video on how Vietnam blocks the traffic by the railroad in the city. The gates there block the full width of the road on both sides.
@@GavinJLang Sorry to disappoint you, but no, I am not joking. Sue them to improve the safety measures at the grade crossing and possible monetary compensation on negligence to have adequate signs and physical barriers. Safety always comes in first and all the necessary measures should be made fool proof and not overlooked.
@@shooting4star2023 trying to sue a railroad because your car got hit while in the commission of multiple deliberate traffic crimes won’t go anywhere in state or federal court. The driver willfully and knowingly violated multiple traffic laws to do something that was incredibly reckless. They have absolutely zero standing to sue Brightline. It would be like someone trying to sue a homeowner for cutting their hand on the glass of a window they broke while attempting to rob the house. If the injury occurs as a result of a willful criminal act by the person who is filing the lawsuit they almost invariably lose any legal standing to sue. Brightline should install double barrier crossing guards on all their grade crossings but this accident was not a result of inadequate safety measures from Brightline. It was a result of willful, conscious, and wholly deliberate criminality by the driver. If they had obeyed basic traffic laws then the accident would not have occurred.
What train gate guards, this isn't England ? In the US, the systems are automated. When a train is X distance away, it completes a circuit dropping the gates, flashing lights and ringing a bell.
Lol yeah wtf are you taking about . I live down here aint no gate attendants. We have a officer on the train to come check tickets to make sure u paid or they write you a ticket
All modern train operators including light rail have gates that come down on both sides of the road. Brightline has only one side and keeps having these wrecks. There is a simple fix.
@Deen Chaser If people would simply wait as they should we wouldn't need crossing gates. Yet, in spite of the gates, there are still accidents. People are too entitled, too arrogant.
Lucky to be alive. I will send this to my wife so she KNOWS to slow down and be a defensive driver. IMO this could happen to anyone who just happens to be slightly distracted. I guess it's gonna take for one of our lawmakers family members to get hit by the brightline train 🚆 for them to finally do something about these daily crashes.
Careless driving. You cannot be distracted driving. She was impatient, went around that car and messed herself up. It happens daily without train involvement
