A Japanese Airlines passenger plane carrying almost 400 people was consumed by fire on the runway of Tokyo's Haneda Airport. All passengers and crew were evacuated, Japan Airlines said.

Yes! Truly amazing. Most people believe that the flight crew is there to serve them food and drink, in reality, most of their job training is safety protocols. They are there to keep you save.

It's also a testament to the healthier lifestyle of the Japanese people. If this had happened in my country, some "plus sized" person who can barely waddle would have gotten stuck in the emergency exit and caused half the passengers to die.

Only 3 of 8 emergency exits could be used, and the intercom system died. Still, that flight crew saved EVERYBODY because of their skill and professionalism and the cooperation of the passengers. All involved deserve high praise.

Earthquake, Tsunami and now a plane crash.... Japan is engulfed with catastrophic events the last few days. And yet.. zero to minimal death toll. All 370 airline passengers & crews survived but 5 coastguard crews died. Nonetheless, Japan's disaster and crisis response is just incredible. The world has a lot to learn from this nation. Salute, Japan!

It's a miracle how all 379 people survived this! But unfortunately the coast guard ship wasn't so lucky, prayers for all the families affected by this horrible tragedy, especially so soon after the earthquake.

Incredible that everyone got off that plane okay...on an US flight everyone would have perished as half the people would have insisted on grabbing their carry-on, nearly the other half would have insisted on taking selfies, and a couple obese passengers get stuck in the door to get out...

JL516 was normal landing but unaware of the military plane MA722 that was loaded with disaster relief to the earthquake region. Probably a result of miscommunication. 5 dead on MA722, pilot injured.

In the records, the conversations were conducted in aviation terminology using English, the dialogue between the Japan Coast Guard aircraft and the controller took place from 45 minutes and 11 seconds to 19 seconds. The controller, after informing about the first departure scheduled among the aircraft near the runway with the term 'Number One,' stated, 'Proceed with ground movement to the position before the runway on taxiway C5,' instructing the aircraft to taxi to the stopping position on taxiway C5 just before runway C. The Japan Coast Guard aircraft acknowledged, 'Heading to the stopping position before the runway, C5. Thank you,' in response.

Notice that when the passenger plane was being evacuated, and rapidly being engulfed in flames, there are no fire truck present… not a single one! Where were they? It seems that airport fire control must have been asleep at the wheel!

More miraculous than first thought. Turns out it actually took 18 minutes, from touchdown to full evacuation. Not the 90 seconds we were first told. And, due to airline protocol, the front attendants didn't even open the exit until the Captain came out and gave the okay.

Upon further reflection of the intense aircraft fire, when are we going to address the elephant in the room? Did you see how powerful the fire was in the main tube of the aircraft. I mean, the wings are where the fuel is stored. The air frame tube where the passengers are seated with all the plastic and cloth seats was burning like a blow torch. I have flown in airplanes all over the world and never fully prepared myself to witness the inferno in the passenger area. An separate engineering investigation should be conducted to fully examine how a fire in the passenger area can be dramatically slowed using safer materials..

Why did 379 passengers and crew of Japan Airlines survive? That's because this was a domestic flight and most of the passengers were Japanese. Japanese people have been used to acting in groups since kindergarten, and evacuation drills are often held, just as Americans have been practicing evacuation drills for gunfights since they were children.

The crew made it out safely doesn’t make sense. Why would the plane even explode would if people was actually on the plane these people are working with airlines they don’t check anything well even if they check it’s always something wrong with the plane if I know something is wrong I’m not getting on itand I’ve seen too many movies 198 too many things I never taken any airplane I don’t care how fun it may look I’m not gonna have access to get out the plane the only way if I’m getting on the airplane is I have to have a parachute but it’s never gonna happen

This is why I would never get on an airplane after watching final destination. It’s a movie, but I watch the signs and the World Trade Center and now looking at this I never in my life to get airplane and it’s never gonna happen and never leave New York City where I was born at never ever ever I don’t care if I have billions and billions of dollars is never gonna happen, I think somebody planted a bomb on that plane and I just hope to God there was nobody on that plane and I’m not sure if the driver is alive because that was a big explosion even though some people could survive it depending on where but there’s no way he or she survived. I hope they did but it doesn’t look like it.
