Glen and Bob have been frequent guests on my website (www.kenmichaelsradio.com) and on this channel. Their power-pop band The Weeklings have just released their 4th studio album “Raspberry Park,” which features mainly original songs, well-crafted pop which many fans would categorize as Beatles-influenced. They also covered the Beatles songs “I’ve Just Seen A Face” and “She’s Leaving Home” on the album, as well as Bruce Springsteen’s “I’m On Fire,” as well as a medley of Buffalo Springfield’s “Mr. Soul” and the Rolling Stones’ “Satisfaction” in a song sung by Peter Noone of Herman’s Hermits! They even have a song, “Brian Jones” written about the late guitarist of the Rolling Stones- A tremendous new album coming from The Weeklings! On all their albums they have covered Beatles material with their own unique spin on them, and most often the Beatles’ lesser-known songs. In this conversation, Glen and Bob discuss how they define the band-are they a Beatles tribute band, or would they rather be better known for their original material? How is this album different from their previous 3 albums?
