You men and women at Riuters do such an incredible job with these Now and Then . They are Brilliant,Sensitive, and somehow with the perfect music to hear!! Great learning experiences!!
As a guy living in Baden (some 30 Kilometers south of Vienna) i know nearly all the places shown in your videos...it is incredible to see the old photos over todays buildings...you do really a great work!!!
We all know that the video quality is amazing, but we have to talk about the soundtrack chosen. Completely matches the video and give it another symbolism. 10/10 as always!!
My godmother who spent as an inmate 3 years in KL Auschwitz was shocked at the number of ethnic Austrians amongst the SS Guards there. Just food for thought.
I wonder if this towers can be visited? As a tourist I’d love to go on a guided tour of the inside of this towers. Although I noticed one has been turned into a zoo. The others looked abandoned.
Sorry, only one is open for visiting, but there is the "Haus des Meeres" in it...a maritime museum with a lot of living fishes...all other turrets are closed for public, but you can walk around them...excluding one in a barracks of the Austrian Armed Forces (Stiftskaserne).
Огромные и мрачные железобетонные флактурмы очень хорошо передают общее настроение тех военных лет. Какие-то даже перестраивают, давая им вторую жизнь. Интересно, почему австрийцы их не сносят?
The background music fits and and is totally appropriate in a somber, remembrance sort of way. Small font?.....at least you can see the pictures in the video. If necessary....view this on a larger laptop screen.
