It's funny how a lot of the comments says how gross these foods are, when in some countries this are considered as a special meal. Be thankful of the food you have now, some people can't even have a single meal a day.
Being around your grandparents a lot and becomes a childhood hood snack, even if you get the 100% chicken ver. It was surprisingly good when my grandparents said if they’re too mushy just put them in the fridge till they’re ice cold. If the broth is too gummy then put the can under hot water for a min no longer so they stay cold and firm but not too gummy ☺️✨
When I was a kid on a long road trip we would take Colby or cheddar cheese, Vienna sausages, saltine crackers, apples and milk in a cooler. We stopped at a roadside park to eat....some of my best memories
I used to chop those up with peppers, onion, scotchbonnet, green onion, garlic, salt, black pepper and culantro and mix it in eggs, fry it up and eat it with roti.
Got these often enough on the ship back 50 years ago. Forward mess deck was liver and onions; aft was Vienna sausages. I think they were messin' with us. ;-)
You made my heart sink when you stumbled and said fish an as ingredient. I just bought 6 cans of Armour for the first time since I was a kid. Haha. Watch out my man, you had me shook.
I always ate Libby's brand growing up . I still like them with plain white bread . I know some fry it , and traditionally many Puerto Rican put it in arroz con gandules (introduced to it by stepmom) I think they all taste pretty similar. All Vienna taste like cold bologna , but not in a bad way .
I just turned this video on as some background listening as I was cleaning. I love food reviews so this was right up my alley. No joke, just listening, I thought you were an Asian man with a calming voice. I was a little surprised when I started watching and saw your fingers lol. God bless you brother! Keep it up!
Really like ur technique and professional attitude when tasting these canned delicacies .. without even a slice of sweet or dill pickle or pickled ginger on the side …? Truly a bold individual.👍😎
Thanks for doing this video. I've never tried them before and always wondered about them. The prairie belt ones are "smoked" which is why they taste different. My brother in law eats the Armour smoked ones.
You are quite welcome. Admittedly, they are not on the top of everyone's list of must have foods but I say give them a try. They are pretty cheap and if you don't like them, you are only down a couple of bucks.
The Armour and Walmart sausages are one in the same. The USDA establishment number on both is P-4247, which is a ConAgra plant in Fort Madison, Iowa. It's interesting when you discover where certain foods are made. The store brand is often really a quality brand name product for a lot less money.
I didn't know that Armour and Walmart were produced in the same plant, thanks! I always wonder which manufacturers are behind some of the store brands I purchase.
@@alexanderwassell1230 No, Walmart cola is made by independent bottlers or companies like Shasta. Coke won't make products for other companies or private label.
Lol I just looked the Vienna up and funny thing is I came across your video after I watched a few I got some now from $ store 😆 2023💯💪I'm first... Shout out from Virginia
I love these things. They taste delicious to me. All my life I used to hate them with a passion, than one day suddenly I wanted to try some and that same day I liked them a lot.
@@drewjenn9819 Lol! I used to try and eat them a lot when I was younger. So I had already tasted them before I started liking them. One day I was thinking about them and I liked the way they tasted in my remembering of them, then I went to go buy some and I liked them a lot from that day on. Lol. Crazy story, I know
around here we only get libbys and armour, and armour is by far the better one. my favorite thing is to take a nong shim spicy noodle bowl, add the entire spice packet then open the can of sausage and add it all in, liquid and all, then fill with boiling water. makes a great $1.50 lunch.
Thank you for your time. However, only the Prairie Belt brand says ‘Smoked Sausage’ hence the color and flavor difference. I eat the chicken & pork brand Libby’s. I also use toothpicks so they don’t get tore up. Just my opinion. Have a good one.
Libby’s is the best out of 3 of them. Walmart and armor. Walmart and armor tast like they were saturated in salt like a sob! I’ve never had the prairies, but Libby’s beats the other 2 out of the park in taste.
The prairie belt sausages are NOT Vienna sausage what so ever!!!!! They are made to heat and serve!!! The others are not… ☝️☝️they should not have been in this comparison!☝️
When I've gotten these it's been Armor being that was prominent selection at dollar general. I never buy vienna sausage in a can at wmart or geagle...only dollar general because they don't have much to choose from. The other two like Armor are probably the same. When my son was transitioning from baby food to toddler foods I bought meat sticks in a jar by Gerber. My son did not like them and I would end up eating it. They were just like vienna sausage but bigger and tasted lighter better for you. I liked them. These might be a choice for adults as well...I don't see why not.
Same in my locale. Armour is the only type sold at my local Dollar General. Now that I think about it, Family Dollar and the 99 Cents store also only sell Armour. Hmmm... wonder how that happened. Interesting about the baby food. It'd be a kick if those meat sticks were repackaged and sold as adult food. Hey, as long as it tastes good... everyone wins.
I always get armor. The one with no beef in it the stuff on the can looks funny. Never heard of that brand or the Walmart brand . I’ll stick with armor :-)
@@HallOfFantasy No cook helps with a fast start. Also, when water is scarce, it can't be wasted on cooking and clean up. Not to mention, the smell of a campfire on your clothes or near a hunting area can spook game.
I Eat Armour Vienna Sausages They Taste The Best & I Grew Up Eating Armour Vienna Sausages All My Life & I Eat Them With Italian Salad Dressing On Them
Yep, people have very strong views about this product. I didn't have them for a longtime and then I saw them a few years ago while traveling in Cambodia. Every now and then this product is ok for me but, the sodium content is pretty high.
I've had the jalapeno before - very nice. I tried the bbq and it was too salty for me. Note that both were eating straight out of the can and not heated.
Prairie is SMOKED.....that's why it tastes different. ;-) And you've got to remember, the WalMart brand is MADE by one of the other 3. Walmart doesn't MAKE these....just put their name on them is all.
Instacart delivered two cans of light Libby’s by mistake i tried them.... disgusting Ngl I even tried eating them with scrambled eggs but no thank you they are too mushy. I like cut up hot dogs and scrambled eggs for breakfast but when eggs are firmer than the sausage something is a miss and i do not overcook my eggs before anyone says anything.
The Spleen, the lack of Beef in Prairie Belt and Smoked flavor makes the difference out of the 4 brand's you sampled. Spleen is a filter for Bacteria and is naturally stained a different color than Pork or Chicken. The spices also ad to the flavor and color as well. In the Prairie belt brand. Duh!
U know elon musk , jeff bezos., bill gates even orange man d.j. Trump is sneaking around late night in the kitchen., saying., “ dammm i want that can of Vienna Sausage … “”
