Viennese Face Phantom and an expanding tool

Every Thursday The Curator of the Mütter Museum of the College of physicians of Philadelphia introduces a mystery object for you to guess what it is. Last week's mystery object was a Viennese Face Phantom. The face phantom is a medical tool used to practice eye surgery. During the Filming of a short film done by the Quay Brothers here at the museum the face phantom was damaged trying to put real cow eyes into the sockets.

- Designed to be inserted into a part of the human body
-Its purpose was to dilate or expand something
