I know this fast turn on the spot - the Fleckerl - is difficult. And there is a temptation to create rise, fall, or sway on it - but Victor Silvester of "Modern Ballroom Dancing" (a ballroom dance instruction book I havve) says - no rise, no fall, no sway on that move. Not easy to avoid rise, fall, or sway on this one because you are spinning quite fast. I have autism so I love the Viennese Waltz because this waltz makes me want to spin. The Fleckerl is best for me to spin in that dance. I know the mantra for the Fleckerl for the lead - whether Natural or Reverse is this - "side step first (1), then step in place on the other foot (2), then lead foot crosses forward (3), and then the other foot steps in place (second 1) and then the lead foot that crossed forward now crosses back (second 2), and finally, the other foot almost closes up with the foot that back-crossed (second 3).", even though you are rotating fast L or R on the spot.

Thanks for the lessons and especially for the length of the follower's skirt. Her steps a very clear. But I cannot understand, are these figures from professional sport or social dances?

Thanks Maria for watching and appreciating our videos. Fleckerl is more competitive Figure. Natural Turn and Reverse Turn are figures suitable for social dancing.

Fortunately, I know the precede - the most common one - to the Natural Fleckerl. And where on the dance floor you do this... In dancesport, it is generally considered bad floorcraft to do the Fleckerls on the sides of the dance floor, because it is a fast continuous turn on one spot. You generally only do it in the center. In the final heats where there are only a few couples on the floor, you can do the Fleckerls in the corners of the ballroom, but wait for a large opening in the corners before doing it. The Natural Fleckerl is generally preceded with this - after a series of Reverse Turns getting into the center or near center of the ballroom out of the basic flow of traffic on the sides of the ballroom, you go into Reverse Fleckerls 2 times to 4 times around, then you go to the immediate Contra Check, and after that, you continue with Natural Fleckerls 2 to 4 times around, and finish with Natural Turns when you get out of the center of the ballroom to go smoothly into traffic. Hint: Wait for an opening in the traffic after you do the Natural Fleckerls before you do the Natural Turns, and when you do the Natural Turns - get out of the center, but be careful of other couples on the floor. Sometimes you can do 8 Natural Fleckerls at a time before going back to the Natural Turns. According to Victor Silvester of "Modern Ballroom Dancing", after reading this book, he says that "There is no rise or fall, or [even] sway, in the Fleckerls." As of now, there are only 7 figures in Viennese Waltz, which makes that waltz less intimidating to remember.

The Chasse Change means that there are now 8 steps in Viennese Waltz. In the past, there was only 7 figures.

Now there are even more figures. But 6 are considered most basic.

They are showing or teaching us, so they don't care, but I am sure they know Natural Flickerl is done on the center not 2 impede flow of line of dance.

Thanks Mrkas for comment. Yes, usually Fleckerl is danced in center of floor, but sometines also in corners, where it interferes less with other dancers moving around the floor.

@@songwu5390 Would it be possible for you to provide a list of the 'top 10' music selections that you would use? You sound like an expert in music selections, just as Eglis is an expert in dance instruction. Thank you kindly..
