I still it needs for the crane part to be functional, not just a static display. When I first watched your video at the beginning I thought it was going to show a working crane. Guess one can't have every thing. As per the comment that Lionel trains are toys, they sure bring good money when you sell them, hardly ever do you see a LIONEL item sell for less than what you paid for it. Can't say that about most HO,N,or Z.

Ho is the most collectible scale. Marklin for instance is 150 year old company and the most collectible items. Models from the 20's, 30's and 40's can earn you tens of thousands. All the high end brass manufacture produce in HO. Micro Metakit models start at 2500 and can go up to 5000.

A very nice addition to HO scale but a little pricey considering the crane shows no movement. Don't how this would do in N scale or Z scale. A moving crane and something trackside to pick up with it would have been the way too. Are all of the manufacturers of model railroading trying to follow LIONEL, "gimmick,gimmick,gimmick" !!!

With DCC decoders, interior illumination and sound trains today are getting very realistic. These are scaled models which are very functional. Lionel trains are great toys not scaled models.

We in Z gauge also have engines in brass, don't think they are worth the money, most run in the $2000 and up price. Boy what a foolish way to spend money. Oh well our congress does it all of the time !!!
