I don't know nothing about your life, your history, but we have something togheter, Vietnam stay forever in me. Thank you so much for your video, my memory now are more clear. A deep hug to you, unknow friend. Mirco
Thank you for these kind words Quan. Very nice to hear from you. It was mostly a matter of collecting plenty of footage and then selecting the best clips.
During the Lunar new year in VN, it is already spring. The coldest month is January but it is short and quite humid, but that is the reason which makes the northern region really cold in 1 or 2 weeks. Sapa has a temperate climate in the winter.
Thank you so much for a beautiful walk down the memory land...I haven't been back to Vietnam since I left in 1978. Hopefully I will be back in a near future once my daughter is old enough to know our motherland.
phrakanong, I like your video “Vietnam in HD- Tet 2010”. You changed between the scenes very good making the people understand your story easily. Also, your scenes are enough timing to avoid boring. I like you to use zoom-tele smoothly without shaking. I love to travel and I made some movies in DVD, but, I believe you make it better than I do. Thank your for your beautiful videos. Quan.
I love how this video is put together with the songs. Well done on bringing a meaningful look of the motherland and my home country. I've always preferred to vacation somewhere else, but after seeing this I really do want to go back to VN. Great shots. kudos
@TroyBilt007 Yes, your observation is correct about some who cannot get over the loss. I was there myself during the war and I'm very happy to see the progress in VN especially during the past 8 to 10 years. Thanks for watching and for taking a moment to comment.
You are most welcome. It was my pleasure to make this video. You are correct that using a tripod would give less unwanted movement. My videos are normally spontaneous, not planned at all and never knowing when some interesting subject will present itself and so that is the main reason I don't carry a tripod. The camcorder has a "no-shake feature" which helps to some degree. I try to edit out the clips with too much unwanted motion. Thanks for your interest and suggestion. Cảm ơn bạn rất nhiều
Thank you. Actually I'm just an amateur but put my heart into this one. Camcorder is a Sony HDR-XR200. Edited with Premier Pro 4. Other videos from SE Asia, mostly Viet Nam and Thailand, are listed on our RU-vid channel.
Awesome videos. Viet Nam has change so much. Its so modernize now especially the last part of the video. Tall skyscraper, clean street, cars. Wow I wanna visit it now!!1 Thanks for the video and thank thank you for the HD quality. Most other videos I've seen are bad quality. This video you made is really good quality. I love it. Thanks again.
This was a lovely video! Makes me miss Vietnam so much. Can't believe only three weeks ago I was there! Nice accompanying music, none of those obnoxious type! I like that between scenes you included the sounds of the cars and motorbikes passing by. Gives you a great feel of Vietnam. Wish I had taken videos too!
@2niemand Nice comment. Thank you. I visited the Hong Gai area in 1989. At that time there were not many foreign tourists. As you note from your recent visit, back then the people were warm and friendly as well. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Unfortunately I've not been back to the area since then. In previous times I spent a lot of time living in the countryside among the village people. That was an unforgettable experience.
I love seeing Vietnam at peace, especially when you show the juxtaposition of old and new ... rice cultivation, ao dai, non la, bicycles, old temples, wandering rivers and tree-clad mountains. Well done.
Thank you Phrakanong for another beautiful video. Viet Nam looks as beautiful as Thailand. Maybe have to take time to visit there on next trip back to Thailand.
Really nice video, thanks! Pretty country. I am thinking about living in South East Asia in about 7 years. Hanoi looks good, because the weather isn't as hot, but I still have lots of time to find a new home. - I like Thailand too, but the weather seems pretty warm. Anyway, I always appreciate your stuff. Best wishes!
Thank you for your comment Danh Pham. There are three other videos from Viet Nam on my channel from June and July of this year if you are interested. Good luck to you. I hope you will make it back soon.
I just got back from Vietnam this morning. I was in Hong Gai for about 3 weeks, working in the open pit coal mine. It was a bit overwhelming to be in Ha Noi at my last day there. Most of the people in Hong Gai don´t speak English, but they were all really nice to my group. I felt welcome there. In Ha Noi I felt completely different. Its an interesting city, but I like the more non-western culture in Hong Gai (its a miracle, considering, that Bai Chai is so close).Anyways, nice video ;D
lol this video is amazing and it made me remember the last time i went to Vietnam in the middle of the winter. (im from Canada) Since im use to the cold all i wore was shorts and t-shirts while everyone else were wearing jackets and jeans. A lot of my relatives called me crazy. xD
Nice video, Nice shot on authentic live scene of Vietnam. I tried doing same video of Vietnam in 2010 but only around Saigon, I didn't visit all the country as you and must choose some thematics. I notice that 7 minutes video as what you do is a good timing, not boring , mainly when you can change Vietnam landscape from north to south. I hope will see more nice video from you in future. Phrakanong is not a vietnamese name, is it thai or lao origin?
@Youtubian1790 Thanks for your comment. Hue is a beautiful city in a charming area. I'm anxious to go back again but as of now I cannot say when it will happen. I have a few unused video clips from the visit during Tet but not enough good ones to make an interesting video for RU-vid.
@hoangnguyenh9 Yes, the first is "Phai Chang Em Da Quen" by Chu Bin. The second is "Tim Ve" by Pham Huy Du. They are also noted at the very end of the video. I should have placed them earlier in the video timeline. You can download from the VN music site Zing MP3.
I had total different view of Viet Nam before this video :( Thanks for the video! I totally want to go and visit one day!!!! is a great place!!!!!!! u r opening people's mind!
Viet Nam has experienced much change, especially within the past 8 - 10 years and continues to modernize at a rapid rate. You should consider a trip back sometime if your situation will allow it. If you have Google Earth on your computer you can turn on the Panoramio layer and see recent photos from all over the country. Thanks for watching and taking time to comment.
@nhan911 The 2 songs are noted at the end of the video. The first is "Phai Chang Em Da Quen" by Chu Bin. The second is "Tim Ve" by Pham Huy Du. You can download from VN music site Zing MP3.
Yes, that's it. Same neighborhood too. Some of the clips from this video are from there. 3:08 to 3:33 were from across the river to your south. We've met before, I think, and knew some of the same people. The cemetery at 3:53 is in what was your neck of the woods.
@dudewth95 The songs and the artists are shown at the end of the video. The first song is Phai Chang Em Da Quen by Chu Bin (I've misspelled it as "Binh"). The second song is Tim Ve by Pham Huy Du. One can listen to and download these songs on the Internet at Zing Mp3 and other Vietnamese music sites. Unfortunately I cannot make all of the Vietnamese tone markings and vowel markings with this keyboard arrangement to show the correct and complete spelling of all of these Vietnamese words.
