No matter what. I like this guy’s aspiration. He has the ambitious spirit of a Vietnamese. He’ll no doubt face hardship but I believe in him. Words to the CEO of Vin Group, help and lift Vietnam out of poverty. We Vietnamese deserve this. We shed so much suffering and blood throughout our history already. Is VinFast going to manufacture E-Bikes, E-Scooters, and Electric Motorcycles in Vietnam? He shouldn't go all in on the US and try to compete with Tesla. It might be better to sell in rising economies like India or China 💰

It's a business that has been propped up with the ill-gotten gain from land grabs through political connection and corruption. They have virtually no car tech and no reputation in the auto market, they are only at the assembling level. Over the last 10 years, all the tech-related businesses they ventured into have all failed and that includes the petrol car business. Now they attempt to ride the EV sentiment by jumping on the EV wagon. However, their approach is pretty much the same as they did to their petrol car business. This will end in tears again.

1. Ofcouse Vingroup has a close relationship with the Vietnamese government, that is why they succeed in real estate because the government owns lands. In Vn, there are many "backdoor" companies, owned by politician's families, so these politicians can transfer some state projects to these companies. Pham Nhat Vuong knows this better than anyone. 2. It's true that Vingroup has failed in many other business sectors like smartphones, supermarkets... and real estate is still the most profitable sector to fund other sectors. 3. I've lived in Eastern Europe for few years so I can somehow understand Vietnamese business man success from Eastern Europe. According to Vinamr, Vinfast Fadil not only topped the A-segment but also became the best selling model of the whole auto industry in Vietnam 2021, far ahead other big names like Toyota and Hyundai. Also, Vinfast EVs have dominated the Vietnamese EV market since 2021. In addition to a fleet of 200 all-electric public VinBus carrying 60 passengers at a time, over 1,000 Vinfast e34's (a smaller version of VF8) have been sold since Dec 2021. Surprisingly, there have been no problems reported after over 8 months on the road. Similarly, no serious issues have been reported about BMW electric cars. Evidently, with a unique Italian design by Pininfarina, Vinfast EVs are German BMW based. In other words, Vinfast is just a more affordable version of BMW.

They need to look at Hyundai's success breaking into the north American market. They were a completely unknown company and they broke into the market in 1986 with stunning success by filling a hole in the market. While other automakers were moving up market and ignoring the entry level automobile Hyundai came out swinging for the fence with the excel and well here we are now. The north American market needs an entry level EV. In the 1980s Hyundai was a big company that made a lot of stuff in Korea but no one in this hemisphere had any idea that it existed.

The company made a fortune in real estate by being given preferential treatment to acquire poor people's land for as little as $1/m2. That's why the company was able to start the automotive business. In addition, this car is currently in the red as it is sold, but it continues to receive preferential treatment from the Vietnamese government. In other words, if you buy this car, you are buying stolen property from a gangster who robbed poor Vietnamese people of their property.

@@quinguyenmelbourne7680 Many leaders like Zimbabwe's Robert Mugabe, Albania's Hoxha, Venezuela's Chavez, and Indonesia's Sukarno, who contributed to independence in their youth, later oppressed their people through authoritarian politics. The fact that they achieved independence decades ago has nothing to do with how they treat their citizens now. It's also true that Vietnamese who were driven out to countries like the U.S., Germany, or France in the past live much more prosperously than those living in Vietnam today. And it's a fact that their governments treat them better than your government treats you. Everyone can guess but doesn't say that the recent terrorist incident in Dak Lak was caused by an ethnic minority who lost their homes and land. That's because if you say it, you have to be investigated by the police. In your country, even if there is an assault happening right in front of you, the police pretend not to know, but they diligently investigate if you say anything bad about the government. It's the same when they accept bribes on the streets, something that police in other developed countries don’t do. The reason why your country appears to be functioning well without any issues is that there isn't enough freedom of the press. For example, if a high-ranking official wrongs you and you didn't capture it on your phone, you'll likely be the one who has to be investigated by the police. Who would believe that such a country treats its citizens fairly? I am a foreigner who has lived in Vietnam for many years, and I've concluded that your country cannot thrive because of people like you who blindly support the government. Let's see what happens to this reckless car company in the future.

It is public transport we need to be focusing on, cars are bad no matter how you slice it- efficiency, cost, environmentally, they aren't even convenient because so many people have them that congestion is constant- sticking a battery in a car is just a way to absolve those who can afford them of any guilt they may feel about their continued desire to drive everywhere. Maintaining those roads (worse as vehicles get heavier by, say replacing an energy dense medium like petrol with batteries) and mining the materials for those cars has a horrendous impact on the environment. We have to accept that this addiction to car centered transport must end- they love their mopeds, how about an e-moped? Not profitable I guess when everyone wants large personal boxes. Guess that wouldn't make the rich man richer. Why would one want to be the Elon Musk of anything? He is devoid of morallity. Pretending to care about the environment with Tesla, whilst destroying the planet taking private jets and playing with his space toys!
