Great to see a business man who loves his work. Hope you have a pleasant trip back home, I will very much miss the interesting virtual visits to Vietnam
I have the trek520. I bought it when I lived in Thailand prior to pandemic. Me and a friend of mind planned the trip for a year. We had the bikes all the gear and even plane ticket and hotel. We were going to bike across Canada but we had a major change of plans because of the pandemic, and we both went home. We still have the bikes in Thailand and soon we will return and start a bike trip, we are not sure on the destination now but we are going somewhere. FYI, the bike is awesome, I did ride it a couple times.
Super nice guy too happy to still see people who are like that never is in New Jersey USA where I am anymore!! Appreciate you showing this really do and made me feel better from today again when I’m always in a dark unhappy place now thanks again!! 🤝🤝🤝

Bike shops are like candy shops to me, they are always neat to visit. I have a 2023 Trek Emonda similar to the one the bike shop owner was building. It works great where I live as the roads are mostly smooth. Like you, I also run 700x25 tires, but I inflate them to 85 psi instead of 100 psi like I used to. It’s much more comfortable when the roads get rough. On another note, check the prices for accessories and parts like tubes and tires in the U.S. If they are cheaper in Vietnam, stock up on them before moving back to the States. Just my two cents worth…
I still ran 100+ psi in Da Nang since the roads were very smooth, but going lower in Michigan since the roads here are horrible 😂 Dang, shoulda stocked up on some extra tubes
What crazy about Vietnam is import tax for bicycle 45% plus vat.. madness … not very eco friendly .. ps there many trucks in Vietnam specially ford ranger .. they reason is they classified ford ranger trucks as commercial vehicles … that why many people buy them as they dont have to pay high import taxes
To bad Michigan has less opportunity for entrepreneurs, or those looking to pursue success in any field or endeavor. Too bad you and your wife didn't develop a business plan with Vietnam's government funds for eco tourism. Oh well, I guess you can always go back to Vietnam to achieve your dreams.
Didn't really try the tourism angle, but it was actually very difficult to find brands to work with in Vietnam since many brands would not ship to Vietnam and local distributors weren't interested without a local Vietnamese audience
No plans to follow you two in the US. Your videos of Vietnam, Japan and others have been great and will be missed. Not interest in America mainly because I live here. Enjoy and will watch your wife miss Vietnam and move back.
