The camo trainer is a Beechcraft T-34 Mentor, and the "T-6" is a North American T-28 Trojan.

very nice to see Jarod's Skyhawk next to yours! I'm a former avionics guy on A-4M's and TA-4F's and J's. Back then, an "F" was identified by the bent refueling probe, and the "J" by the straight probe. The J was intended to be a trainer only, so the guns were removed and stations 1 and 5 (the outboard ones) were removed. The J also had a lower thrust version of the J52. It's interesting that the Collings Foundation's TA-4F, BuNo 153524, was built as a F, but you can find pics on Flickr of it mod'ed to a J version. Jarod's TA-4, N518TA, was built from bits from a few aircraft, IIRC, and isn't marked with a BuNo or a F or J designation. When I've seen it, it was just painted with "TA-4". Also FWIW... "H&MS" was pronounced as "hams" back in the day.... but that's not going to be understood by the layman. A second bit of trivia... the bent refueling probe was a modification to the A-4 Skyhawk family to avoid having the straight probe interfere with the APG-53 radar. Personally, I liked the bent probe because it made it easier to get aircraft in and out of a crowded hangar. 😀

T-34 Mentor, primary trainer used by all of the services. The thing is basically a Beechcraft Bonanza with a bubble canopy. These got replaced in the 80's or 90's with a "turbo" version the T-34C which had an entirely different nose to accommodate the turbine engine.

We polished some tail hooks on our RF-4's in the Kentucky Air Guard back around 1987! It looked awesome when we got done!

Great to have Phantom aircrew and maintainers come to view the jet. Being on the concrete flight line in the blazing sun can be harsh. Good job on finding that defective relay, looking forward to you guys sorting out the electrics.

What a collection! Unfortunately laid up at home for the weekend, but I'm enjoying learning the basics of the F-4 in DCS. I was just wondering about the generators syncing as I was switching between ground power and generators a few minutes ago... and here's the equipment!

Yay! Congrats on finding yet another bad electrical part. I can't believe how many of them are in the same circuit and it hadn't been a problem, or it was and never got fixed? You guys have a nice display of aircraft there but I have to say I'm partial to the WWII era with the round engines. They just flat sound better than jets. Not that I don't like jets too. :) As always, thanks for sharing.
