On my recent trip to Vietnam, the constant question I was battling as a vegetarian was - what are my options for food? To my surprise, I managed to try out some vegetarian dishes in Vietnam and gave my rating. Here's how it went!
Vietnam is synonymous with the variety of seafood, banh mi and coffee. Although, ever wondered what it's like being a vegetarian here? Well let me tell you, it wasn't all that bad! There were a host of options to indulge in that went beyond the Aloo, Paneer and Mushroom window.
So from the Vietnamese Ban Trang Nuoung, Noodles, Ché To Rice Paper Spring Roll and The Purple Lady Dessert, these were some of the top vegetarian delicacies that satisfied and pleased my taste buds and hunger pangs. Of course the rating is purely based on personal taste & experience and nothing more!
Which dish are you most likely to taste? Let us know below!
Mentioning the name of the dishes along with their price here so you can get your hands on them when you visit:
Dishes:
1. Ban Trang Nuoung 20,000 VND (₹66)
2. Noodles (Buffet)200,000 VND (₹657)
3. Ché (Buffet) 200,000 VND (₹657)
4. Rice Paper Spring Roll 85,000 VND (₹279)
5. The Purple Lady dessert70,000 VND (₹229)

LOTS of Vegan food stalls in Vietnam since some are buddhist, problem is language barrier just say to them "An Chay" which means vegan

@jilldawson89 Год назад
If you are a vegetarian looks for restaurants with the word, 'Chay', in their name. It means 'Vegie' in Vietnamese. There are a lot of Vietnamese Vegetarian restaurants including the buffet ones in Saigon city with 90-100 dishes. The foods are delicious and cheap.

Best places to eat vegetarian food in Vietnam is in the restaurants operated by Buddhists. They will create a mock vegetarian version of all Vietnamese dishes. Bun bo hue, bun rieu, ban beo, banh xeo and the list goes on .

4:00 This was really disrespectful. When someone is putting an effort to explain you the dishes, you are supposed to pay attention to them not to food.

@@pathkris2984 you can google: "quán chay ngon hội an/đà nẵng", chay means vegeterian. It means good vegeterian/vegan restaurant in hoian/danang

Or you simply can turn on google map, use the key word "quán chay" to look for vegeterian/vegan restaurants. They will show up on the map with reviews

Never get dessert in Thai , Vietnamese etc restaurants because it’s overly sweet than our jalebis or rasgullas.. even their welcome drinks are super sweet so it’s disappointing..

Its quite obvious that you did not do the necessary research considering that you are a vlogger. Once you do that you will realize that south east Asia as well as China are vegan paradise with myriads of vegetables, leaves and different kind of tubers than standard potato fare. I am surprised coming from land of Jalebi and Rasgulla, Vietnam desserts were sweet for you 😄😄

Use Google to get your answer Egg is completely veg (assuming unfertilized) EVERYWHERE in the world besides India and always has been. Many Hindus just claim it’s not because they use cultural reasoning & ideological/religious reasoning. And then many have the audacity to try to gatekeep the term “vegetarian” and demand people define it as their country does despite the fact they didn’t even coin the term - British people did.

Ghanta kuch nahi milta. Its a nightmare for me. I am writing it now from Hoi An. Vegetarian people like me who wont eat from places where non veg is cooked… “Vietnam” is a nightmare. Ek dhang ka snack v nahi mil raha without egg. I have been to so many countries but always found a vegan restaurant. Here I did found one but I cant go and eat there for all my meals.
