I was in South Vietnam during the Vietnam war and later returned in 2010 and 2013. I wish the Vietnamese people all the very best and that our two countries NEVER again fight one another.
Vietnamese historically kicked out their colonial rivals and have defended their homeland! That alone gives them my respect! My barbers of 10 hears are Vietnamese! Much love to the people of Vietnam!
Your Barbers hate Communism. North Vietnamese are Communist. Vietnamese have Chinese Blood also. They didn't kick out their Chinese colonists way back when.
In 1971 I was stationed in Can Tho as a young US Army soldier. It does my heart well so see how lovely the country is now and the war is hardly part of their memory.
I AM SO PROUD OF THE PEOPLE OF VIETNAM AFTER SO MANY WARS WAGED BY EVERYONE..................... I THINK THEIR HEART IS VERY STRONG AND THAT THEY HAVE DEEP DEEP AND LOVING FEELINGS OF THEIR HOMELAND AND CULTURE. THEY ARE A UNIQUE PEOPLE WITH PRIDE OF PLACE AND HOME!!!!!
I've just come back from Vietnam and i didn't find it 'impoverished and isolated'! Vietnamese people are happy and very proud people, I found them respectful, helpful and very polite.
God We’re poorer, it does not mean we are not happy. We were a lot happier before when we were even poorer. You’re properly a Vietnamese American, who always talk shit about my country, God. Do you think you’re a better race?
I visited Vietnam three times. Most Vietnamese people are happy and very friendly except for one jackass ruined one of my trips. Considerably anywhere you go, there are few bad people. Overall, most Vietnamese there are very friendly.
That's not what he said. In the video he says from post Vietnam War (1975) up through the economic and political reforms (1986) it was impoverished and isolated. But with the reforms came consistent growth for Vietnam. Decades later their economy just continues to go up, and people are moving up from poverty into working and middle class. It's still not perfect, but leaps and bounds better than it was 30 years ago.
Vietnamese are honest and humble people. They have stayed in the Philippines for sometime and we have a good relation. They respect our laws and beliefs. Mabuhay Vietnam.!
Vietnam it’s beautiful country and so friendly people I was 11 months in 2018 absolutely fantastic time was for me I never forget my favorite Vietnam and Estonia . The most romantic country, also Spain nice too..
I travelled to North Vietnam in 2007 and visited extensively. It is a great country on a path to rapid development in agriculture and industry. As an Indian I really felt at home in this wonderful country. Way the country is fast developing, soon the country shall move to a developed nation. We Indian love this fiercely patriotic friendly and brave people.
I served in the U.S. army during the Vietnam War (1970-1971). I was crew chief on a V-100 Commando Car. We were stationed at Quang Tri Combat Base. We ran Convoy escort and fire support for convoys going as far south as DaNang on highway One, and as far West as Vandergriff Combat Base near Khe Son on highway nine. We escorted convoys carrying ammunition and supplies to all of the forward Fire Support Bases along the DMZ. We got hit by a rocket propelled grenade while traveling just west of Dong Ha on highway 9. Two of our crewmen were wounded, but we all made it home alive I really enjoy seeing the pictures of modern day Vietnam. I'm glad the country is at peace and enjoying prosperity. I would love to go back someday for a visit. However, it's doubtful that I will get that opportunity.
My wife and I are about to take our 10th trip to Vietnam in a couple of months and once again will stay for 8 weeks. This video is a wonderful reminder. Thanks for sharing...
Have you ever participated in the war in Vietnam? Have you ever thought about it, would you go to the soldiers, the North Vietnamese, to confront you at the Vietnam War? And will meet in the spirit of peace, connection? I believe it is very meaningful. RU-vid has uploaded a number of videos to mention this issue. It will be interesting to you, I think
I was in Vietnam in 2016 and I must say it's a beautiful country full of very friendly and nice people. I love Vietnam and I'm sure I will visit it in the nearest future.
Vietnam is the best place in the world I would say. I am was lucky to see in my eyes Vietnam 11 month. People are super awesome. I never forget I have a many friends on my Facebook page I would say about 70 friends. I love this people very much ,was treating me very well and caring that’s how are friendly.i want to back again in the future.Thank you for the video.i wish you all the best.
Hello to you guys from America. I love that video I watching this video already e few times some video, because is so super awesome, many thanks many friends from Da Nang ,Vietnam on my Facebook page, I will be return this paradise country.
As far as I'm concerned, the Vietnamese have proved themselves to be amongst the most resilient, creative, and hard-working people in the world. They have stood up to the most powerful onslaughts (Ideological and Military and are now living as they've probably always wanted to.(Which is more than many other nations of the world can say)

Vietnamese are a brave and enrrgetic people. I have a lot of respect for them. I am sure Vietnam will flourish and become an important country among the world's nations.
2020 proved what you said. As president of the ASEAN bloc, has been president of the United Nations Security Council 1-1-2020. And it is expected that no more than 10 years, Vietnam will be one of the countries with great influence on economy and development strategy.
I was in Vietnam in April 2019 I rode the Ho Chi Minh Trail with Lucky Bastard Motorcycle Tours I absolutely love this destination some of things described in this video I certainly didn't see but I didn't go to high tourists areas like Na Trang or Ho Chi Minh City, I love the Country and its people and can't wait to get back hopefully later this year highly recommend it, always remember you are guests in their Country so always show respect and you will get it back . Great video!!
I've been living here for the last six months and I love it. I'm in Hoi An across the street from the beach. The people are nice and friendly enough. The food is really good. Driving a motorbike here is fun
The best what? Mosquitoes, snakes, spiders, flies, giant roaches, centipedes, leeches, infections of all kinds, etc etc. Everything there is trying to kill you. Go for it!
@kira kim - The most remarkable and deeply admirable thing I get is that the Vietnamese people have overcome hatred. With all that has been done to your country and people, you overcome, adapt, and move forwards with flexibility and sound common sense. True Judo, I guess! And the huge favor Vietnam did for the Cambodians, freeing them from a murderous regime, is epic.
@jason saunders the most important is that we are happy now living in our peaceful country !!! Who care about the word " human right" identified by people who are not living in VN
@@bubbalong7646 If so, Vietnamese people will die. As Kira kim said, you continue to stay home, eating popcorn, and watching TV from your couch. " Ếch Ngồi Đáy Giếng " This idiom is for people like you. But I think the reason you say that, maybe because you envy other people. And I believe you do not have the budget to travel to Vietnam or other countries when sitting at home, eating popcorn and watching TV on the couch. In 2020 you will know there are these creatures in Vietnam. Because at that time Vietnam will be the president of ASEAN and chairman of the United Nations Security Council, so information about Vietnam will always be updated on TV.
Dog and cat meat are not popular in Vietnam. Just a group people eat meat dog and drinking 🍻. In the past during the war they have nothing to eat that's why they had. But nowadays, many people love cats and dogs and they protect with all their life . Not much people eat dogs meat.
Being American, I'm happy Vietnam has recovered from all devastation the war brought. We were taught as children of the 1960's that no form Government other than Democracy can work, we were lied to.
@@mrjamesho Really? I go to the internet everyday and there is always a bunch of ppl talking bad about the party and the government but they aren't fined or punished by the police.
@Marrowbones well you said Vietnam used to be a dictatorship which isn't true they had a Marxist-Leninist one party system which you could argue is undemocratic but I think it is democratic but either way it's certainly not a dictatorship because there is a system of checks and balances with elections that work different than ours but it is a very different form of democracy than what we have in the US. Also as a communist I can say it is untrue that communism requires absolutism and isolation, the reason some communist countries are isolated is because of the US and other capitalist placing sanctions and travel restrictions on those countries they don't really have a choice, Communism actually calls for international cooperation. Also when you say Vietnam turned capitalist and started having elections they actually adopted a mixed economic model similar to China which combines capitalism and communism which I actually think is the most effective form of communism/Socialism. When a country goes completely communist they usually have a lot of economic growth and it works well but after a while you start to run into some problems so having a small private sector while keeping all major industries in the public sector is a great solution and has been proven to work as seen with China and Vietnam. Also when u say they started having free elections they just started allowing people who aren't part of the communist party to run in elections
Vietnamese are all a very hardworking ppl , and very kind , generous ppl. Love vietnam , japanese , thais , australians and russians. Vietnamese dedicate their lives to the craft they make , be it a simple cup of coffee or a meal. All trustworthy and honest ppl from all these nations. 🇯🇵🇻🇳🇷🇺🇭🇲🇮🇳 Namaste from India.🙏
Beautiful country , lovely people .After all the turmoil they've been through it's really heartening to see that their future is improving .Ha long is an incredible place , one I'd like to see among many others . Vietnam is blessed with great beauty and natural resources . Thanks for a wonderful vid .
It's worth it, my wife is Viet, she was supposed to move to the US, I decided to move to Vietnam instead and haven't regretted it yet. Beautiful people beautiful country ❤️🇻🇳
I love Vietnam. Friends and I have been to Vietnam three times in the past 4 years, each time was over 3 weeks. Myself personally can never get enough of Vietnam. I could travel there just for the coffee and the foods. It is a beautiful country with rich history and culture from North to South Vietnam including their islands. One particular thing that got me annoyed about Vietnam is the Russian tourists. They are crowed over there. They are loud, demanding and not very generous. I get uncomfortable seeing poor college students serving demanding Russian tourists at restaurants. But hey, not all Russians are the same, the best part of my trip in Mexico was partying with a bunch of Russian tourists. They were lovely and I was drunk the whole time at the resort we all got locked up in. I take it back. Maybe I wasn't drunk enough when I was in Vietnam. Vodka for everyone !
I left my hometown for 29 years. I came back to visit in 2018 I couldn't believe it was changed a lot, I used to lived in Tùng Nghĩa town, it was about 30 km from Đà Lạt city. I love Tùng Nghĩa.
I live in Hong Kong, but will definitely be moving to Vietnam (Danang) soon to lower my cost of living. I've visited Danang 3 times in the past 8 months and have found the people to be very friendly and the area very livable, with all (most) of the western conveniences. Thanks for the video!
I don't know how long had you been in Vietnam but you did a great video about Vietnam. I am Vietnamese but if I were asked to do a video about my own country, I am not sure if I can do better than this. It's great to see foreigners' point of view about Vietnam, through this video and all comments. Thanks for all the nice comments about Vietnam. Yes, Vietnam is a nice country. It's a shame that we cannot keep the country clean. We are in trash crisis. Hope we can improve this in the future. For those who said our Vietnamese women are cheap, well I think they are cheap too. They travel to Vietnam for sex, they go to bars, pubs, or red-light streets and use the money to buy sex, then they come to the conclusion that VN women are cheap. Are you kidding? I think Vietnam is one of the countries which has the highest rate of working women in the world. They work hard, smart and strong, not cheap. Only cheap people have cheap thoughts
Black Moon, sorry I'm a little late here. Prostitution is a problem in USA, too. Human trafficking is a big issue here and the word is "if you see something, say something." Workers at some fast food restaurants are being trained to be alert. The ugly underbelly of American life. Thank you for sticking up for working women, and not only Vietnam, but Cambodia, Laos, and everywhere! I have never been to VN, but I know several VOs there that I've followed for, around 6 years, they have my email which I dont give to just anybody. They and their extended family are the REAL people of Vietnam, and I'm honored to be counted as a friend!🥰
I recently traveled to Vietnam with my girlfriend who is originally from Ho Chi Minh City. I really enjoyed it. The food was amazing. She has a great family and they were so nice to me and made me feel so welcome. I think they were surprised at how well I liked Vietnamese food. I returned back home to Texas the 1st of November and she was going to come back to Texas the 1st of December but Typhoon Usagi hit southern Vietnam and her family’s homes were flooded which I was sorry to hear but at least everyone in her family is ok. She is staying longer to help her family at this time.
It's a pity, and please give your condolences to this. But I am very proud to see the compliments about Vietnamese people and Vietnamese food. Always welcome to you

love this country and the people are so creative and hard working they deserve to come out on tops they show you don't need billions in the bank to prosper great people love them
It is good to see something good came out of the War. Never knew it was this advanced in the world. Seems like a place I would visit. They really have their act together.
You talk about my country like it’s your!!! Thanks so much!! You absolutely right about everything!!! We hope we will be more hospitable and have a good sight from friend over the world
@@carlschleicher5516 Hi Carl. I've been living in Vietnam for a little over a year and find it a great place to live for 1,000 USD/month. Here is the list of my expenses: - two bedroom apartment with security: $500 - I cook most of my meals from sea foods, chickens and vegetables. I also drink Budweiser beer for dinner. - eat out two to three times a week. Depending on the mood. - I already took a couple of tours to the North and Southwest part of the county. I hope these informations help. Cheers
I love Vietnam. I’ve travelled there eight times now, staying 4-6 weeks each time. I hope to retire there in maybe another 10 years if there are no major negative changes.
Wow, really? Have you ever come to Nepal? Are you a soldier sir? 5 of my clients from Seattle are involved in War in 1970. They came to Nepal for 4 times already. Honestly, i knew Vietnam from them! www.gotohimalaya.com
I'm very happy to see the country prosper since so much was destroyed in the war. The people are truly amazing. The country is beautiful and I would love to go back.
My fiancé lives in Vietnam. I’ve been there a couple of times and plan to go again very soon. I love it there! I e been to Ha Noi, Sapa, Ho Chi Minh City, Vung Tau and a few other small places. I absolutely love it. The people are all friendly and very busy but laid back also. The country is very beautiful and Sapa was just unreal! I want to go back to Sapa and also visit Ha Long Bay and Da Lat.
Wish you happy . Vietnam still has many beautiful places. Some people are jealous of this. It's easy to understand, because they do not have the opportunity to enjoy it. Don't mind it. :D
I like Asian continent period. You forgot to mention the most important thing,Vietnnam never surrendered to any outside forces even they were outnumbered. They defeated all the outside forces USA,FRANCE AND CHINA with their limited weapons. They are the bravest of the braves in my opinion.
Vietnam and it's people are beautiful to me. I would love to visit there. I've always wanted to try their spicy food! It looks amazing. I adore the sound of the language too, but man is it hard for me to wrap my tongue around.
@@wowbruh2511 Do not underestimate others. Vietnam has just developed the country for nearly 30 years. 1990 Vietnam ended the War. We have been as clear as it is now, there has been a difference, developing a level. If you understand Vietnam, you should not say disrespectful words. Think if you're me, what do you think? People when they are economically successful do not say those words. You will soon fail if you look down on others.
@@wowbruh2511 If it's a misunderstanding, I'm very sorry. Yes. you're right, i'm not fluent in english Because this video is a good video about my country, I will refute anyone if they say wrong, speak ill of Vietnam. Again, I am very sorry. And don't think bad about me. Thanks
Love it , I have been there few times, however your video just reminds me again, cause video quality is so great , what model is it ? Thanks for sharing
My grandfather died of bombs during the Vietnam War in 1968 My grandmother died the same year after giving birth to my father. My father and two sisters raised themselves together and went to college on their own, they having a happy life by their way. The country was divided and embargoed and it was not until 1995 that the embargo was removed from the United States. We come up from the ashes and ruins and that is why we are happy with life and ignoring hatred. Because for Vietnamese people it is a community culture, the previous generation will do all the best for the next. The best wish with Vietnamese is a good health, with bad health you can't do anything
