Hi Toby and thanks again. I agree with Tom Pham, it's interesting to watch the original song by Lara Fabian and compare it with Dimash's performance. At first the interpretations seem to be very different, but actually Dimash follows Lara Fabian's dynamics quite faithfully. And the passion is the same. And anyhow, Lara Fabian is an extraordinary artist well worth reacting to.

Adagio is an italian word, that means "Slowly". This is also used in music to define the pace of a music (a bit slow, between lento and andante) and also as a name of a piece of a sonate, concerto or symphony that is using that specific pace. The music from this song of Lara Fabian is a pop translation of an italian classic piece called "Albinoni's Adagio". It was written in 1958 by Remo Giazotto who was an admirer of Albinoni, a musician from the 17th/18th century. He claimed it was from him and give his music this name but there is consensus today that he most probably has composed it himself. The classic music piece is globally famous and was translated into a pop song for Lara. She wrote lyrics in english and italian for it and is the original performer. She kept the title Adagio and wrote a story with a double meaning: a woman that is awaiting to find her love / an artist that is awaiting the god of inspiration.
