Mike arrives a few hours in country and heads straight to the food portion (of the night market). "The only portion we care about." Its like he sees into our soul. Bless every hungry part of you.😊👍
ngatiramona don’t speak for everyone cuz no other people care about more than food. Like the beautiful landmarks and views and also the culture. Living in the US, California to be exact I never see traditional culture. Everyone here is Americanized now nothing is original and also the people here and no where near as friendly.
Been laid up hurt at home and I've been watching these all week and I forgot to subscribe but now I'm subbed. These videos have brought me a lot of joy.. and hunger.
Omg so sad you didn’t try hủ tiếu nam vang which is a special noodles soup that Cần Thơ is well known for :O Saigon has it too! Wish it was part of your noodles tour video. It’s ok maybe next time you visit Vietnam again ;)
I think he could walk down the same street and just have noodles! There are hundreds of things in that market and we're just seeing five or six! AND the market probably changes a little with time, there might be a year of content here, a whole RU-vid Channel if someone had the patience and concentration to document it. I love this kind of video, but they often seem very superficial, like here we're hardly showing the people at all, not asking any questions, it's really just a glance at something that seems full of detail and interest. WELL, we'll never run out of "content"!
My father in law lives in Vietnam. Not Vietnamese just loves the Asian culture. He's live in the Philippines and Thailand too. I'll ask him if he's tried this.
Summer rolls in the US is sticky cuz the rice paper is dried and it has to be reconstituted with water so they get sticky and soggy but the ones in VN use fresh rice paper so they don’t need to dampen with water. I like the plain no dipping grilled dried squid.
Love you and your videos Mike! I envy you so much! My biggest dream is to be able to travel the world and experience cultures via the food! ESPECIALLY Asian countries! To be able to visit even just one Asian country and just eat as much as I possibly can while meeting the people would be AMAZING! And if I happened to see you and be able to eat with you would be an unbelievably excellent experience!
That really does look like a nice place to be. 💙 I always enjoy watching you eat (& describe with gleeful detail) all the seafood because I have a crushingly awful shellfish allergy...I couldn't even walk past the steam on most of that food without an Epipen & a trip to the emergency room, alas. So I get to eat it vicariously (& safely, lol) here. :) I look forward to more!
Omg I love your videos!!! Idk why I torture myself though. I am starving and want Asian food. Definitely trying out a Thai restaurant that I've never tried before.
I've had that cuttlefish jerky from a dai pai dong in HK but I don't think it was put through a pasta press to make it as thin....it was delicious and crunchy but really chewy! Great video x
Vietnam..wish I'll be there one of these days..!! I watched and watched your videos, but Still i can't get over how much you eat,.... looking at he quantities you ingest, makes me nauseous..!!
okay, im here eating my cheap 0.2USD chunk of bread filled with coconut meat, and i think the taste of the bread just increased by watching your video lol
Yo mike. I've been following you and the double Chen show is it? For a few years now. I've always wanted to visit Japan, china, Singapore and other East Asian countries. How much do the tour guides cost per day? I would be useless without them and am hoping to travel next year.
I have no idea why I’m watching this at night yet I’m on my 5th day of 14day water fast🤷♀️😬 my mouth is so watery... let me grab a glass of water and sleep 🤦♀️
Texture is very important too so nice fresh flavour from herbs and lime juice with crunch from fresh veggies (usually finely julienned). Makes you feel good afterwards.
The country that gave us pho has to have been dating the food gods 😍 also loving the idea of spring roll being grilled .. imagine that tastes amazingly good.
