That cow in the background, why didn't it do anything to save the hawklet? Sure needs to get its moral compass recalibrated.Shameful.

I was waiting for that cow in the background to save the hawkling, but it didn't happen.

I noticed that hawk chick's right wing was broke when it was brought to the nest and it would not have survived anyways.

Appears this is a common trait among eagles teaching their young how to kill live prey.

Just how many times are the eaglets pooping at that very high speed. Shocking!

I think she left it there for her babies to kill, teach them, but all they did was lay down

I've seen this quite a few times.. Eagles bringing other raptor chicks to the nest alive and then leaving. It really must be for the purpose of showing their young how to kill their dinner. From all the resources that I've read.. Parents don't actively teach.. The "Littles" just learn from power of example. I think mom could have crushed this little fluffer with one Talon in a second.. Why didn't she? 😔 Thank your for the warning.. Very appreciated by this heart ♥

All that will remain of that hawklet an hour later is a few squirts of poop out of the eagles.

I always thought hyenas and wild dogs are the cruelest to the animals they eat alive but I think these birds of prey take the cake when it comes to the cruelty level of eating their prey alive

So much like humans, the larger beasts determine the menu.

Fascinating ... I had no problem watching it. That's Nature in action. Only we humans have sensibilities. I have seen lions feeding from the hind area of a live zebra and live warthogs torn to bits by hungry lions.

The hawklet would have died out of food in any case. The eagle parents would feed only their children.

If I ever find eagle nest I'm taking all the eggs and Eaglet and taking it home raising them and infront of the 1st born I will make him watch as I turn his brothers into scrambled eggs until it's their turn to be turned into a eagle Ceasars salad and post it all on youtube for views this is my nature so "it's all fair game"

Fascinating they have projectile shit so they shit outside of the nesting center! As far as the dinner oops I mean main course is being feed alive to get the Eagle Chicks to feed living prey! Pretty neat! But she still had to rip it apart and feed them but they are learning!
