I lived in Queens road for first 13 years (1957-70) of my life. My auntie,& uncle ran the Saracens Head Pub in lower High Street. I can still remember the stink off Rolling mills, & Gas works. We used play in the Goods Yard, & skin mill, Hickmans.
The county boundary was the top of vicarage road where the railway tracks are up from the Corbett hospital all south was Worcestershire and north was Staffordshire it is still split in terms of postcodes everything south of the border which was worcs is DY8 and all north which was staffs is DY5 and it’s all now united in Dudley MBC
